A Discovery

The greatest challenge in life is to discover who you really are,

Well, I think taking challenges makes one quite a star!

Never did I try to introspect upon me- my true self,

I must say this lockdown taught me to love myself!

Looking at my reflection in the mirror one day,

A wonderful feeling of greatness came my way.

When the busy routine, suddenly came to a pause,

I observed how beautiful nature around me was!

Due to the curfews, it wasn't quite possible to step out,

Even the thought of being locked made me pout!

It was so gloomy to be forced to stay indoors,

But, fun lovers can even enjoy doing household chores!

Oh! and to my surprise I love or I must say live to eat,

I rarely dislike any dish, however, I just love sweet!

You know it wouldn't be possible to my true self discover,

If the lockdown hadn't been imposed to recover.

My company began to be enjoyed by family and friends,

You know why because on conduct the enjoyment depends.

Yeah! I wasn't that short-tempered now as I used to be,

That behavior changed due to relaxation maybe,

Of course, I am not that bad at heart and I do have a bright side,

I realized this when I discovered a loving and caring person inside.

I love to laugh and I'm not the that serious kind I thought I was,

I realized that the tight and busy routine was the cause,

Cause of my harshness, cause of my introverted nature,

Of course, I love to share things with others- minor or major.

The chance to be quiet for a while and introspect,

Did help my true nature, likes, and dislikes detect.

Now I know who I really am, thanks to the 'me time',

And of course, I observed that I have an interest in rhyme.

Well you know apart from myself, I also discovered more,

The pleasant chirping of birds that I for so long did ignore,

The calmness of night and the brightness of day,

The cuteness of kids is really a blessing, I must say,

The musical wind chime and the engrossing stories and poetry,

Isn't that the perfect combination with snacks under a tree!

For me, no other time as pleasant as this period could be,

Because it gave me an opportunity to meet the real me!
