Count Your Blessings

After completing the tasks on the to-do list,

Nina glanced at the watch on her wrist.

The watch showed a quarter to two

"Oh! it's almost time to pick up Sue."

"Ah! My legs ache" she cried in pain,

Maybe she had some weight-gain!! 

She reached the school in some time, 

And waited for her child humming a rhyme. 

Just then, an autorickshaw driver she observed, 

By the sight, she sure felt perturbed. 

For a boy without legs, he carried, 

And Nina looked so worried. 

As she was gazing at the boy with concern, 

Her daughter Sue from school did return.

Sue spoke, " Mom, he's Akash and studies in our class, 

he had a serious accident yet managed to pass.

Nina imagined herself to be in Akash's place, 

And thanked God for His grace 

For she realized that her legs pain only because they are there, 

And vowed to count her blessings and from complaining to forbear!
