Sacrifice
Sacrifice
What does sacrifice symbolise,
Today, through my words visualise.
Is the martyrdom of martyrs a sacrifice,
Or the bloodshed in a battle is sacrifice?
Sacrifice is of the families of the soldiers,
In absence of children who become like boulders.
Sacrifice is of mothers, whose children for the nation,
Sacrife their youth and are ready for any operation.
What does sacrifice symbolise,
Today, through my words visualise.
For the land of Kashmir, there is a dispute,
Will the fight between nations bear any fruit?
The sacrifice is of the victims of desistance,
Commoners who fight for their own existence.
What does sacrifice symbolise,
Today, through my words visualise.
Flags of unemployment where stand so high,
The mother sends her child to foreign land with a sigh.
When the young one is chained with new responsibilities,
That is sacrifice when he misses his home festivities!
What does sacrifice symbolise,
Today, through my words visualise.
Walking on the way back home one day,
I saw a few people in a hut made of hay.
Giving to the other, the little they had, was a surprise!
But, sadly this sacrifice stays away from others' eyes.
What does sacrifice symbolise,
Today, through my words visualise.
A kind of sacrifice is present in our homes too,
Without failure always agrees to parents who,
Gives up on her dreams and aspirations so quietly,
Sadly, her sacrifice isn't recognised by the society,
For its looked upon as her duty to forsake
Oh people! she's a daughter not a mistake!
What does sacrifice really mean,
Today, through my verse you've seen!
