Teacher, Guru, Coach, mentor, instructor or tutor, call by any name, each one of us has met someone in our life who has enlightened us with their knowledge, experience and guidance. I am really happy I got the chance to share my story about my Teachers whom I have met at different stages of my life and who have not only influenced me but also showed me that I am too strong to take care of my things and could face the world with determination.

From childhood I was always drawn to sports activities. I was fond of playing Throwball and Badminton. Whenever I used to be on field nothing could distract me. My PT sir, our sports coach Sir Naresh used to guide us with how to play, the techniques and approach to follow when we were in the field. It was not just me but every student in our school used to like him very much since he made problem look easier no matter how difficult it was through his fun approach.

We had our 1st taluka level badminton match in Nandurbar . Sir along with my other teammates reached the venue. We were very nervous since our schoolgirls were first time playing in other city. However, sir were very calm and composed. He looked at three of us and told us just be natural, play your game and remember you will never get this chance again so give your best. I was the first one to go for singles, my heart was beating fast, having goosebumps, I just closed my eyes took a deep breath and started my game. My first set didn't go well, one after the other my points were slipping away from my hands. Eventually I lost my first set. Now fear of losing the game was hovering my mind.

I Looked at sir and he just told me one thing, " You are a good come-backer, believe in yourself, read the other person and then plan it out." Those words were like a guru mantra for me. I did the same and won the rest 2 sets back-to-back. We were very happy as our school team had 1st time reached to that level.

That day I learned the first lesson of my life , "Believe in yourself and things will fall in its place".

Thank you sir, even today whenever I am low, recalling those moments instill confidence in me.

Well, Life is like a train you will keep having different stops in your life with people boarding at different stations and few of them will say adieu. Every person you meet has something to give you. It could be your parents, teachers, life partner, sometimes even your children can influence you in some way that you might have never thought of.

My children taught me patience and my life partner gave me a way to look good in every person that I met no matter how mean they could be. I am really grateful to god to bless me with so many mentor's in my life who have time to time shown me a way to mold myself in a good way for a better future.

Even you have your mentor just beside you , open your eyes, be a good listener and give it a shot for better change. Someone has rightly said "A mentor is not someone who walks ahead of you to show you how they did it, A mentor walks alongside you to show what you can do."
