The Unique Friendship

Kiara and Gogo grew up together. Gogo, a small baby gorilla, which Kiara found hiding behind the bushes in her garden was so dear to her. 

"It must have lost his path from the jungle," her father said,

"We can't keep a gorilla, I mean people have pets like dog, cat, even birds. But a gorilla...People don't even keep monkeys. Everybody will laugh on us" her mother said making a face at Gogo and Kiara setting together in a corner.

"Kia baby loves it so much," his father said concerned.

"But she is a kid, she doesn't know what is right or wrong. We the decision makers here. Besides this, this creature could be harmful after growing up" her mother argued.

"No, it is a harmless little buddy. And if it will grow up with us in our environment, it will never be harmful" her father stated.

Finally, Gogo stayed with them. Till sixteen years Gogo and Kiara were inseparable, they were like best of friends.

But after elementary school, Kiara met with her growing age. She made new friends in high school, fell in love for the first time, had aspirations and dreams to flew from his small city. She started spending less time with Gogo, and Gogo became more and more lonely and deserted

Her parents felt pity for Gogo, they sympathized, but couldn't do anything.

The day Kiara left for New York to pursue her higher studies, was the last day for Gogo to stay in the family. Kiara's mum dropped Gogo in a jungle. 

Days passed and Kiara returned for holidays, she never asked anything about or ever mentioned Gogo.

Soon Kiara got married and settled in New York. Ones on his trip to India, she and her husband decided to go on a jungle safari.

Unfortunately, they lose the track of the fellow explorers and were lost in the big jungle. Suddenly Kiara heard a sound of large footsteps, 

"It must be some wild animal, we can die any time," her husband said fearfully.

He and Kiara hide inside a huge hole on a big rock.

Still, the sound was behind them. They realized that the animal has reached inside the hole, fear struck, they sensed their death.

Just then Kiara sensed something unusual in herself. She wasn't fearing death, Why? Her husband was quaking with fear.

She moved with her knees trying to see what was on the other side,

"No Kia, don't go" her husband called.

"Gogo!!!"She yelled so loudly.

Yes, it was Gogo, and the band that Kiara had tied along his tail was still there.

From that day Kiara and Gogo became friends again. She would come to meet him again and again. 

On being asked by her father, why she never mentioned Gogo, she replied "Dad I know when changes were happening in my life, I ignored Gogo. When I discovered the temporary side of the world after leaving this place, I realized that the only permanent friend I ever had was Gogo, but I lost him due to my own mistakes. I felt guilty, and I didn't have the courage to face the reality that I lost him due to my own mistakes. I loved him always, and still do, this time I am not going to lose him. He is and will always stay my best friend" she said with a smile looking at the picture of her and Gogo.
