What Will You Do?

‘War’ the word, world leaders seem to be casual about

It seems that the consequences of it aren’t thought about,

The bloodshed shall be everywhere, every colour would be turned into red,

Citizens getting transformed into refugees, with their heavy hearts and eyes wet.

And, Now I ask you all the influentials governing the world, 

A simple yet the most unanswerable question,

What is the reason for you being so belligerent?

One said “We are doing this for the land”, the other one said “For Religion”

They took pride while giving such bizarre answers and started forming violent legions

I asked,

“But What will you do?

Of the land which you have conquered, has no people to live,

What will you do?

Of the land that changed it’s status from a Village to a Warzone to a Graveyard,

What will you do?

Of the land where the only thing you breathe is blood and not oxygen,

What will you do?

Of the land that is completely wet from the tears of the people residing here earlier,

What will you do?

Of the land, will just hoist your flag, mark the territory,

Enjoy the extra miles in the reign, not feeling sorry.

But you really don’t care, what nightmares have been there,

Because you just wank on this and be like peace here, there and everywhere.”

And then someone interrupted, “Our religion gives the message of peace and that’s why we fight”,

They don’t really understand what they are saying and maybe where the irony lies,

So I asked them too,

“What will you do?

Of the religion, when to protect it, you are not abiding it,

What will you do?

Of the religion, when it teaches non-violence, but you anyway slap your wife, don’t you?

What will you do?

Of the religion, when it says to love everyone, but you choose to hate infidels,

What will you do?

Of the religion, when there are no people and just the militia left,

What will you do?

Of the religion, that was meant to take you closer to the GOD, and not for you to defy its existence,

Religions never talk about revenge, but they teach about forgiveness,

But it seems you have forgotten that, maybe because you enjoy this mess.”

Everyone Defending their legions was quiet by now,

Because maybe they were being schooled by the rationality in the house,

And suddenly from nowhere, I heard an alarming sound.

I moved my hands to get my phone, 

Turned off the alarm, and 

Woke up to see the unchanged world around.
