The Village Hospital
The Village Hospital
Here lives were supposed to be,
Here lives were supposed to be born,
Here lives were supposed to be saved, but
Here lives were left to be dying.
We believed this place was God’s gift,
It should’ve been our safe haven.
But betrayal hit us like ice in a desert,
Once we knew we were left alone.
Today it lies in a corner, forgotten,
Waiting for someone, a saviour.
The untouched furniture, the unscathed floor,
Were waiting for someone, a doctor.
Far from home, in a corner unknown,
Lies our village hospital, where no one shows.
What’s wrong with it? I don’t know,
But I hope one-day lights will glow.
