Why Me?

Everything went well. She went to see them off. She suddenly ran behind them and dragged him to the side. She looked into his eyes and said, "You know what happened months ago. Why did you agree to marry me? You deserve a better one and you can easily find the one but why me?"

She continued, "Every day I face a lot of problems. When I walk through the streets people see me weirdly.

People talk bad behind my back and question my character. I feel very embarrassed.

I lost my job. Most of our relatives had widened their gap with us. There is an imaginary wall between me and my friends and family that can't be crossed even after endless efforts. My family wants my marriage as early as possible and is worried about my future."

With tears coming down the cheeks and the sad face, she said, "Whenever I see myself in the mirror I hardly recognize myself. When I close my eyes that scary night comes across my mind and freshen up my memory. Those dirty hands on me, those faces, that scream is still fresh in my mind. I have nightmares and am barely able to sleep. I often have to take pills to have normal sleep.

I always feel that it was my fault that I ended up like this. I blame myself for traveling alone that night. Will you ever be able to live happily with someone like me? My presence would bring embarrassment to you and your family. Will you be

able to stand it?"

She looked at him with her eyes full of sorrow and pain.

There was a silence.

A silence full of questions.

A silence full of tears.

A silence full of sadness.

He lifted his hands softly wiped her tears.

"I have been in love with you since we were in college. I have always admired you. How can you think that these feelings can change just in one night?

How can I blame you for something in which you are not to be blamed? Also due to which you are the one who has suffered the most."

With his deep voice, he continued, "I love you and not the society. I want to be there right beside you to support you and fight with this irrational and hypothetical society.

I want to make you forget your past and build your future. I wanna be the one to fill your life with the happiness that you deserve.

Don't feel lonely I am always there with you. You and I are the perfect matches and there is no one better than you."

She was left dumbstruck. She tightly hugged him. Finally, she felt secure. She could feel the warmth of the love. She could feel the power of the love.

She returned to her house with a ring in her hand and a hope of love in her eyes.
