What's Right In Sight

Going through a cold and rotten street, which was covered with thick sheets of dust and unhappiness, there lied a small girl, who was vulnerable to the world and next to her, her mother figuring out how to feed her little one. With a small candlelit up for warmth and a dozen balloons in hand, the duo was begging for their life itself, while we party for ours...

Unable and unsure I stopped the car and went up to them! With a sparkle in the eye which glowed much brighter than the candle, which was blown by the flail of wind. The little girl stretched her pure hand covered with cracks. I let out 2 oranges which I had along with a couple of chocolates. The joy on the sweet girl's face won my heart. Her innocence and contentment were to the nines. I intrigued her mom how she takes care of her and she simply replied, that she can't, not well enough and thus is planning to send her to an orphanage.

I was dumbfounded and started questioning the existence of motherly love and as to why she would ever do such a thing.

"Even my motherly love comes in between, but I want the best for her..." She mumbled.

I was speechless and couldn't deduce anything, hence I went back to the car, shivering with extreme confusion.

Was it right?

Was she totally practical now by the bitterness of life's realities and had come to such an inevitable decision or was she just hiding those feelings of TRUE LOVE?

As I moved forward, I promised myself to do something for them.

-----TWO MONTHS LATER-----

I was back on the same old road but now it had a touch of positivity to it... I saw the lady with a dusty dark blanket rolled over as I moved towards her, I could not see the little princess and curiously asked where she was and her mother indicated to something behind me!

As I turned, a school bus passed by and a tiny hand was waiving out of one of its windows which was covered in mist. Her mother waved back with a smile overcoming all the tears she ever had once...

Her mother dared to put her in an orphanage so the little child could go to school and develop a future for herself, leaving behind all the love and expectations she had for and from her daughter.

However, I can't decide whether this is selflessness or selfishness by sending her daughter away so she doesn't have to take any responsibilities.

Also for the daughter, was it kind enough of her to reduce what may be a burden on her mom, or was it that she just cared about herself and her future and it was fair for her to see the person who raised her, begging on the road every day or was it just a simple case of immaturity from the poor lad.

Sometimes some steep situations, step in our lives, without leaving any clues to the answer to them!

Maybe because it isn't a problem to be solved but a truth to be accepted...

Who knows what is right, the accuracy changes in each sight...
