What's most important in life 

So if you know me, you know that I am a type A personality. I make lists. I have a time schedule, and I like to do things my way on my time. Don't get me wrong, I am spontaneous, but when I have things to do, they have to get done.

Saying all of that, when it's Christmas, I always have an open house with like 30 people, so that time of year is especially crazy for me. 

With a week to go before Christmas, I had a list longer than Santa Claus. I had to clean my house and yard. I had to go grocery shopping, make homemade sauce lasagna, wrap presents, and 100 other things to do.

That's when my daughter called me hysterical and said her friend who was going with her on her 25th birthday trip tested positive with covid. She said she was going to lose her money, and this was besides ruining her months of planning for this trip. So, I did what any good mom would do. I canceled all of my clients, threw out my lists out the window, and I went with her. 

Now, did I have a mini panic attack? Yes, definitely, I was thinking how am I supposed to do all of this in 4 days when I get back? Omg, I'm not prepared to go on vacation. I haven't done all the pre vacation things we do, like our hair, our nails, our toes, packing!! I need a week to pack! Besides the fact that I was losing money at my busiest time of year, so yes, I was definitely freaking out.

But these last few years with covid taught us that life is short and family means everything and to make my baby's 25th birthday unforgettable, I was going to move heaven and hell to do this for her.

So I made all the phone calls, got a covid test , ran home to pack, and was ready to go in 2 hours. This was a super human task for me, and I was even impressed with myself! But I did it, and as soon as we got on that plane, I forgot all about what was waiting for me at home. This trip was going to be fantastic; there is nothing I love more than going on vacation with my girls. We are each other's ride or die bitches; we are there for each other in thick and thin, and this was no exception.

I have to tell you we had the best time but to me what was most important was that she was smiling all through it. We went on a Catamaran for the day, we went ATV riding through the mountains, we went to beautiful beaches. We met locals and had amazing meals at great little places to eat. We laughed and talked and made memories that would last a lifetime.

So today, my friends remember what is most important in your life. Being there for your children, making memories, and living your life large. Trust me, your lists will still be there when you get home, and even after you're dead, your life is right here and right now, and you only get one shot at it so choose wisely.
