What If

Moral lessons in school on frankness and honesty is something Riddhi had exposure to just as you and me. Who would have thought that these lessons would actually help us in life. That they would ever come in handy.

But the truth remains that consciously or unconsciously we are tested in life on the very same moral lessons that we actually ignored in our school times.

   Riddhi loved her life. What with a boyfriend and loads of girlfriends to have fun and enjoy with. A job in the new jazzy office that she enjoyed going to.

Years back...

Work was never pressure, rather it was a pleasure. Memorable times with her gang was what she was creating.

  There was also the love of her life who she adored. The feeling of being loved and adored by someone boosts ones morale and gives a new vigour to one's life. Riddhi lived her life in complete love surrounded by all. 

Years later....

Today Riddhi feels...was it just the matter of #SeedhiBaat that altered her life to such an extent. She's just been carried away in whirlwind of happenings in life. 

Yes, she does have a good life today with her own family and nothing great to complain of.

Yet, the past comes back to haunt her and she thinks "if only..." " If only I had spoken frankly that day and been open and honest with the one I loved, the one who truly loved and adored me".

So what events occurred that changed and altered the course of Riddhis life.

  Riddhi still vividly remembers the day. Her in-laws were home to see her. To choose her as their daughter In law. To share a life with their son.

Ridhhi was so confident of her love that she agreed to this ritual. She was sure that it wouldn't work out and was going through this just to keep her parents happy. She knew they wanted her to be a part of this, being unaware themselves of the secret love.

   Belief is one thing but will it work if we don't take a step forward. All that was needed was for Riddhi to have a frank, open talk with her parents. To let them know she had other plans. But, unfortunately, Riddhi didn't have the courage to have a #SeedhiBaat with her own parents.

The result was marriage. Riddhi has moved on and is leading a happy, settled life today. The initial years of the storm, she endured as with any girl.

But she often wondered, "what if??"
