A practical take

A practical take

Before I delve into a world without Tech. I implore us to ask ourselves what is technology and imagining one without it? I mean I did a bachelor's in technology, so does that mean we just remove that degree?

The Cambridge Dictionary states that the meaning of technology is "the practical, especially industrial, use of scientific discoveries".

Thus, I conclude that a world without technology would mostly be consisting of rote learning. We wouldn't have practical classes or labs. We would just have to memorize and write it out. (Not saying that it's what happens most of the time in labs)

A world without technology would most certainly be suitable for tyrants and authoritarians. They have rules they don't understand implementing them without much thought. We remove practicality, we would never have people questioning them. That would be a sad world. Progression comes from overturning past conservative ideas. To discover something yet only to look at it as relic looses it's meaning in due time.

A world without technology would have followers of theory without heartfelt reason as to why the follow and soon have a fallout on what is the right theory. It would then have certain people exploit the theory without reason and nonexistence of questioning the said theory.

I think life in itself is the practicality of using our discoveries for the betterment of ourselves. What if we could envision in theory all the things that we could be in life, imagine it, discover it, but never live it because we can't practically bring our imaginations to live. Funny part, a lot of people dream and forget their dreams. Few dream and drown to their death in them. Some, sail and sail far away. They realize they like sailing rather than the destination of the dream. While funnily some dream of sailing. In all these examples, there is discovery but the tragedy of one's life without technology is one can't learn from it nor pass it on and that is the essence of a world without technology.
