In this story, 6 teenagers, who were once best friends, go through a test of bravery, loyalty, and teamwork, which regain their bond together again through this adventure. Each teenager has a special power of their own, which they use in this story. They first got their powers from a government surgery, as they had bodies designed in such a way no humans had ever had. At the end of the experiment, nothing interesting happened, or at least it didn’t happen yet. When they turned 13, the teenagers’ had powers that started working and changed their lives forever. They are now destined to serve their planet. Will they survive this nightmare to save their world or will they fail to serve their world? (In this story, they are 14 years)

Chapter 1: The Kidnapping

It was an early morning for the Twilight Madden Crew (teenager crew name), but it was a new adventure & start for them. At this point, the Twilight Madden Crew never existed. They were just normal teenagers, who used to be friends and have remarkable powers. The best friends broke up due to what they call: The Last Argument. Ever since then, they have never seen each other. Let’s start with one of the crew members, and the first one up is Jessie.

Her full first name was Jessica, but her friends called her Jessie. Jessie was a sporty, loyal friend, who had the power to create strong cement, meaning that she could freeze things with cement. She could do anything with cement. She could turn cement into cement bubbles, shapes, figures, cement ice, walls, etc. Jessie just needs a flick of her hand and her mind’s focus.

The next member is Asher, who was imaginative, sporty, honest, and had the power to run faster before a zeptosecond could pass. He had to keep aware of his powers because he wouldn’t want to get known about his speed since people could get suspicious, but it wasn’t a problem most of the time. The next member is Blake, who was mostly a techy person, and a loner, but had the coolest power of all time: Reading minds and being able to control and hypnotize others. The argument changed Blake’s life and turned him into a loner.

Though, he was at least part of a band known as The Masked Boys. It was pretty popular in the town the Twilight Madden Crew lived in, which is Hollowsville. The next member has a pretty fun and cool power and personality, and her name is Darbie. Darbie was a girl who didn’t exactly take things seriously and was just happy to be in the moment. She thought you should enjoy whatever life throws at you. Anyways, her power is being able to stretch long, meaning she could stretch her hands, legs, and neck as long as she wants, like a noodle.

She’s lazy, and her powers just help her expand that habit more. The next member is a pretty quiet person, but when you get to know him, he’s awesome. His name is Ethan. Ethan has the power to teleport to any place he wants. As long as he imagines that place in his head, he can get to it. He can also teleport others with him if he touches that person. The last person is the leader of the crew, Angie. Angie has the power of water and fire. She could do anything with water. She can freeze it, boil it, turn it into bubbles, anything.

She could do anything with fire too, like burn things, cook things, and boil things. She also can turn things, or lift things, without touching them. Of course, at this point, the teenagers didn’t know anything about each other having superpowers. Anyways, Angie was at her mom’s cafe, Adalia’s Delights, and was serving customers some raspberry pie. Just then, Angie had a break. These days, most cafes have robots serving customers, but Angie and her mom, Adalia, we're a bit old-fashioned which made their cafe so special.

As Angie was on her break, she was feeling thirsty, and when no one was looking, she used her powers, crunched her hands, as if she was turning something, and she twisted her hand. Suddenly, a floating bubble, which was water, came slowly towards Angie, and Angie opened her mouth, and the bubble came straight into her mouth. “Ah. So refreshing,” said Angie. “Hey, honey. A busy lot today, right? Well, that means more money, and we could use that for the bills,” said Adalia, swiping off a bit of frosting on her face. “Yeah…I was wondering if I could go to the Masked Boys concert this evening. Can I? Please? Bianca’s paying for it all,” said Angie, trying to convince her mom with cute puppy eyes. “I’m sorry, but it’s a no. Again, we have a huge crowd today, and I’m drowning with all the orders. I need your help with the cafe, so you can’t go today,” Adalia said, sighing. “But--,” Angie started before her mother interrupted her.

“I already told you that you can’t go. I’m sorry,” Adalia said impatiently. “You never let me do anything! Ever since Dad’s been gone, it’s like you’ve changed. I mean, Dad’s not even dead!” Angie yelled, stamping her foot down like a little kid throwing a tantrum. She stormed out of the cafe into her room. The house where the two lived was connected to the cafe, so Angie’s room was right on top of their cafe. “This is not about your father!” her mother exclaimed. Angie locked the door to her room and froze the doorknob in anger so that no one could open the door. She laid on her bed, and in frustration, she burned her squishy. Angie closed her eyes and thought of all the good times she had had with her Dad, Lionel, who was currently on a business trip at the moment. Angie opened her eyes.

She leaned over to see what the time was on her alarm clock, and it was 8 pm, 3 hours after the argument Angie had had with her mom. She sat up on her bed, picking up a golden frame that had fallen on her bedside table. She held it, and stared at it, tears dripping down from her eyes. It was a picture of her & her dad. She missed him terribly. Angie’s dad had been gone, travelling the world due to work, for 4 years, 6 months, and 3 days. “Honey? Look, I’m sorry. I gave it a lot of thought, and you can go to the concert,” said Adalia, knocking on Angie's door. “It’s too late. Bianca’s probably gone anyways with Kari,” said Angie, in a sore throat, wiping her tears. “And I’m not coming down for dinner. And yes, I have snacks, I’ll just have them for dinner,” said Angie, knowing what her mom is going to say next.

“Okay…” said Adalia, and she murmured to herself, “Man, this door is tight.” Angie opened a mini cupboard in her room, which was filled with snacks. Angie popped some gumdrops & veggie chips into her mouth and fell asleep on her bed. “Clank,” fell a vase in Angie’s room. It was 10:35, and her mother & brother were sleeping. Angie opened her eyes in a flash, hearing murmurs from everywhere. She took her headphones, put them on, and closed her eyes. The whispers grew louder and had Angie take a pillow & squeeze them on both sides of her ears. For a moment, there was silence. Angie got off her bed and headed to the broken pieces of the vase. But the flowers were gone.

Angie could have sworn there were roses in the vase. Suddenly, someone’s hands were covering Angie’s mouth. Angie tried burning and freezing the person’s hands, but it wasn’t working. Angie’s eyes were suddenly blindfolded with a black sheet, and Angie fell into deep silence.

Chapter 2: Lakewood NUS Conservatory

Angie woke up with a sharp pain in the back of her head when she hit a metallic surface. She felt herself moving forward as if she were in a truck. She was in a truck. She could have sworn that she was in her room a moment ago. Angie was unable to open her eyes because there was something heavy that was covering them. Suddenly, she remembered that an unknown person had kidnapped her from her room. That person had tightly wrapped a thick cloth around her head and over her eyes. Angie tried to shout for help, but something over her mouth muffled her shout to a whisper.

She wanted to try to stand up and search for a way out of there, but she knew it was futile, for there were ropes that bound her arms and legs together. She sighed heavily, but, of course, no sound came out. The truck she was in was quiet. She could hear the truck driving along the road, but she couldn’t hear any sounds from her kidnapper. Then, she used an eye trick she had been working on and burned the heavy thing covering her eyes. After opening her eyes, she saw what she thought was her ex-friends. She burned the cloth covering her mouth to ashes.

She noticed that her friends didn’t have anything wrapping around their mouths. “Darbie, Jessie, Blake, Asher, Ethan? What are you doing here?” asked Angie, with a worried expression on her face. She could hear the groans of her friends waking up. “Angie? If you can see us, then you must have gotten rid of the heavy thing that covered your eyes! And what are all of you doing here?!” asked Darbie, confused. Angie quietly burned their black clothes covering their eyes, since she couldn’t risk getting her powers known. As everyone’s black cloth was falling from their eyes, Angie quietly burned the rope tying her hands and the rope tying her feet together. Everyone could see now and had a surprised look on their faces.

“We’re kidnapped. But I have a feeling they aren’t any kidnappers. They know something about us,” said Angie, whispering. “Like what?” whispered Jessie.” Well, quick question, do you guys have powers?” asked Angie, whispering more quietly, highlighting powers. “We’ll do a head swear, so if we don’t have powers, we’ve been sworn to secrecy,” said Angie, kneeling her head further. Everyone kneeled their heads forward and swore. “I’ll start. I do have powers. I have super speed. I can run faster before a zeptosecond can pass,” said Asher, quietly. Everyone softly gasped. “I have powers too. I can control cement from my eyes, legs, and hands,” said Jessie, nervously. Everyone then just started saying they have powers as well. “I have powers. I can read & control people’s minds,” said Blake, bored.

“I have powers as well. I can stretch really long,” said Darbie. “I have powers too, I can teleport to different places,” said Ethan. “I have powers. I can control water and fire, and turn and shift things too,” said Angie, taking a deep breath. Everyone was quiet for two minutes. “Well, I certainly didn’t know you had powers as well. I just thought I was the cool one,” Darbie said, breaking the silence. “You think you’re cool?” Blake said incredulously. “Well, cooler than you, I suppose,” Darbie said, smirking. “Let’s stop fighting everyone. First of all, we need to find a way out of here. And the only way we can do that is by working together,” Angie said to her ex-friends. Everyone groaned simultaneously.

They hadn’t seen each other since The Last Argument and now the first thing they had to do was work together? Angie knew that this would be tough as she looked around at her ex-friends. “Working together? I don’t know if we can---,” Jessie said, as soon as the brakes slammed on the truck they were in. Angie thought that whoever was driving was not a very good driver. Angie and her friends didn’t have seatbelts, of course, so they were thrown off of the ground towards the front of the truck. All of them hit the metal truck wall at the same time.

“This is the only time I’ve ever wished for a seatbelt,” Asher said. The truck had run out of petrol. “Now is our chance! We have to try to melt the metal wall. Darbie, after the metal wall is melted, drives the truck. Asher, you go and lead us to safety using your super-speed. Blake, hypnotize the kidnappers to stop them from going after us. Ethan, teleport to find some petrol. Jessie, see if you can melt the wall with me,” said Angie. “Aren’t you forgetting something? We still have our hands and legs tied,” said Darbie.

Angie melted the ropes with her eyes, and everyone got up. “But why? We’re using this truck,” asked Jessie. “When I was melting the rope off my hands, I felt something inside my throat. I felt like I couldn’t breathe. There isn’t enough oxygen in here. It keeps going high to low. And I feel like there’s something behind this metal wall, something reducing oxygen,” said Angie.

“What has cement got to even do with metal?” asked Jessie. “Cement can ruin the passive layer protecting the metal, causing it to rust and pit. And high temperatures can melt metal. Jessie now is no time to argue. We’ll all be dead if we don’t fight for our lives,” said Angie, coughing. The effects of low oxygen were starting. Angie’s face turned bright red, and she was choking, but she stopped Jessie from helping her. Angie gave a signal to start doing their jobs, while she gave all her focus to melting the metal wall. Jessie & Angie used their powers, and soon enough, the wall melted. Angie then fainted and fell.

” Angie! Are you okay?” asked Jessie, terrified. Jessie kneeled, holding Angie’s head. Blake rushed into the truck, trying to control himself from stumbling. He immediately saw Angie laying on Jessie’s hand, kneeled, and touched where Angie’s heart would be.

“Is she going to be okay!?” asked Jessie, tears dripping from her eyes. “She-She--She---” Blake said before Jessie interrupted, “She what?? Is she going to be okay or not!?” asked Jessie, trying to be strong with all the tears dripping from her eyes heavily. Jessie curved her lips and gave a slight whimper. “She has asthma. Because of her powers, she can control them, but not forever. By this point, most people would be dead. The effects impact her more because of her asthma & powers. We have to hurry, or we could be late…” said Blake. Jessie & Blake were so focused on Angie, that they barely noticed that after melting the metal wall, there was a calculator-type machine, which could control oxygen levels. Jessie turned around and left Angie’s head in Blake’s hands, ran towards the oxygen controller, and quickly increased the oxygen levels.

Angie opened her eyes and gave out a huge gasp, catching her breath. Jessie ran towards Angie, and hugged her, smiling” “Don’t ever scare me like that. And you have asthma?” said Jessie, smiling.” Yeah…It wasn’t a problem most of the time, so didn’t think it was important to tell you guys….” said Angie, nervously. Everyone else came, seeing Angie, coughing, so they knew something happened.

“What happened---” asked Asher, who got interrupted by Jessie, “Angie has asthma, she fainted, I screamed for help, Blake came, and he said Angie won’t be able to control herself from giving in life forever, and I found an oxygen controller after the metal melted, and I increased the oxygen levels. End of the story.” There was a moment of silence. “Ethan, there’s one thing that didn’t make sense about you & your powers. If you could teleport, why couldn’t you just teleport yourself out of this truck? Why care for us after the...you know what?” asked Angie, suspiciously. Ethan stayed quiet. Everyone stared at him.

“Fine. When the kidnappers came, they gave me something, like a pill, and pushed it inside my mouth. And then my powers stopped working. I couldn’t teleport anymore. After Angie assigned me a task to get more petrol, I got nervous but realized my powers started working again. So I decided to help as well. I’m not stone-hearted you know….” said Ethan. “Oh, ok... By any chance did any of you get a letter last week from a fan of our Pinstagram accounts?” asked Angie. Everybody nodded slowly, unsure of what was happening.

“I think they know about our powers. They had ways to stop our powers from working. Who wears heat-proof gloves!? And I feel like we only got letters from our fans for something else, who may be the same people. When I opened the mail, I got the biggest papercut I’ve ever gotten, and blood dripped a bit on the letter. And at night, I could have sworn that I kept it next to my bedside table, but the next morning, it was gone. Did any of that happen to you?” asked Angie.

Everyone nodded. “They must have used the blood samples to figure out we have powers,” said Angie, getting up.” Hey, Ethan, why don’t you teleport us home,” asked Darbie. “I can’t. My powers need to rest. I can’t just immediately go from place to place. Besides, who knows how far we’re from home?” said Ethan. “Well, that’s great. Does anyone here have driving experience?” asked Jessie. Just as Jessie said that the kidnappers, with black masks which all kidnappers wear covering their faces, came in the truck. They looked furious, with sly smiles on their faces. “Uh oh! I forgot to finish the hypnotizing!” said Blake, and just in time, he hypnotized them, this time completely.

“I have driving experience,” said Darbie, nervously. Everyone was shocked because no one had learned how to drive yet. Darbie headed to the driving seat area and started to drive. After an hour, the truck broke down. Darbie let out a groan and informed the teens. “Awwww….. Guys, the truck broke down. Let’s get outside,” said Darbie, stretching her neck to the back of the truck. Everyone groaned as well and got out of the truck. “Great. Now we’re in the middle of nowhere! I thought you said that you had driving experience?” Blake asked Darbie.

“I never said I was good at it though. Besides, driving is too hard. Not for me. Plus, the truck broke down thank you very much,” Darbie replied. At that moment, the teenagers could hear the sound of faint footsteps coming toward them. A woman with short puffy, curly black hair was walking toward them. She had dark brown eyes and was wearing business clothes. “Congratulations! You passed the test!” she cried out. “Wait, what test?” Angie asked suspiciously. “I really would not have thought about actually driving away when I was your age. You all used your powers wonderfully!” she exclaimed. “Who are you? What test? And how do you know about our powers?” Ethan asked slowly.

“My name is Dr. Mcfly and I am the head of the Lakewood NUS Conservatory, a secret organization. The whole kidnapping thing was just a test, and you passed it with flying colors! Whatever happens next is going to be a secret between us, all right? Follow me. I’ll explain more when we get there,” she said in a low voice, walking away. “Why should we just follow a random stranger that just appeared out of nowhere?” Asher mumbled. Dr Mcfly turned around, waiting expectantly for them to follow her. “Let’s just follow her. I have doubts about her too… but I think we can trust her,” Angie whispered. The teens walked behind Dr Mcfly, and then, just as she stopped, Dr Mcfly loudly said, “Cheesy Aliens!” Suddenly, a huge building appeared, and Dr. Mcfly led the teens inside the building, which was known as the ‘Lakewood NUS Conservatory.’ The building was filled with labs & scientists, and the lights were so bright.

Dr Mcfly led the teens to a room, filled with chairs, and gestured for them to sit down. After everyone sat down, Dr Mcfly said, “I’m Marina Mcfly, the head of Lakewood NUS Conservatory, as you already know. I’m a scientist working to save our planet from... aliens and cosmic disasters. We have called you here today because we think that your powers could help us save the world.” “Wait a second. Aliens are real?” Asher asked, surprised. “Yes, they are. And they’re not the safest creatures to be around. If they come to Earth, it would be horrible for humanity,” Dr Mcfly said, shuddering.

“Our data and investigations have led to a hypothesis… In about 7 hours, it is thought that aliens from another planet will be coming to take over Earth and the whole Milky Way Galaxy, meaning other planets will be taken over as well. They will block the Sun’s light, making it dark on every planet in the Milky Way. They’re going to come for you 6 first because you have powers that can stop their takeover. You are new to this, and therefore, we’ll help you get ready to stop all this. The aliens are powerful, but we believe you can do this,” said Dr Mcfly, shivering. “It’s midnight right now. That means the takeover will start at 8 AM, but night?” asked Darbie, looking at her hot pink watch.

Dr. Mcfly nodded. “You slept with a watch in the night?” asked Blake. “No need to judge, it did come in handy now, didn’t it? You never know what life gives you,” said Darbie. “What if we can’t stop them? What if we…fail?” asked Angie. “Then...Earth and the Milky Way will lose the life they once had,” said Dr. Mcfly, taking a deep swallow. “This is ridiculous! I mean, aliens? Seriously? This is all a dream. I’m just dreaming. I just need to open my eyes, and I’ll get out of this dream,” said Angie. She walked out of the room and slammed the door behind her.

Jessie followed Angie and found her crying in a room. “Look, Angie, maybe this is a dream. But don’t you want this to keep being a dream rather than a nightmare? This may even be real. You just have to believe in yourself. Be strong about it. You know I’m always on your side, right?” said Jessie, sitting beside Angie. Angie slowly lifted her head, wiped her tears, and hugged Jessie. The girls went back to the room, and Angie said, “I’ll be part of this.

But, on one condition.” “Yes?” asked Dr Mcfly. “Promise us that you’ll save our families from all of this if we fail,” Angie said with a determined voice. “I promise I will. But, don’t be so negative about this. You can win if you believe in it. I believe in you. You just have to believe in yourself,” Dr. Mcfly said, putting her strong hands on Angie’s shoulders. “I believe in you,” Jessie said. “I do too,” Darbie said, jumping up and down. “I do too,” Ethan said confidently. Blake and Asher both nodded. Angie realized that her friends would always be by her side, no matter the danger. “All right then,” Angie said, looking at her friends. “Let’s go defeat some aliens.”

Chapter 3: My Dad Is an Alien?!

Dr Mcfly chuckled. “I’m glad you’re ready to defeat the aliens & save not only our planet but the whole Milky Way Galaxy. But you’re going to need a little help & guidance. Meet Yoyo, a shapeshifting alien,” said Dr Mcfly, looking aside, showing Angie & her friends, Yoyo. The teens got into fighting positions, shocked that Dr Mcfly said alien. They looked at Yoyo, expecting to see a slimy, green, scaly monster, but instead saw a tiny Havanese dog with a black bow tie. “That’s an alien? That looks like a tiny, harmless dog,” said Asher, disappointed. He thought they were going to fight an ACTUAL alien. “I am an ACTUAL alien,” the dog said. Asher dropped his jaw wide open and exclaimed, “DOGS CAN TALK?!”

“Not quite. Yoyo is a shape-shifting alien, and the reason he seems like a dog is because of a terrible accident with his cousin,” answered Dr Mcfly, smiling. Ethan peered down at the small dog. “What happened?” Ethan asked curiously. “Well, you are nosy. It all began 200 years ago, when I was playing with my cousin, Landel. We accidentally possessed the same object, and that led to me becoming a dog permanently and Landel didn’t have any effects. I can still shapeshift, but not for long,” sighed Yoyo. “200 years AGO? YIKES. How old are you?” asked Darbie, examining Yoyo.“Darbie! Manners, please. That’s impolite!” whispered Jessie, frustrated.

Darbie whispered back, “Well, I’m curious! Mr Hogsbottom always told me that I should ask questions. And I am!” “Well, you're being so rude! He meant to ask questions study-wise. Not personal-wise,” whispered Jessie. “I can hear you, you know. Aliens have a much better sense of hearing than you humans. And Darbie, the answer to your question is 505. I am 505 years old, thank you very much,” said Yoyo, chuckling. “Anyways, how can we be sure you’re on our site? You could be a spy undercover for the aliens who have a mission to take over the WHOLE Milky Way Galaxy,” said Blake, suspiciously.

“It is your decision whether or not to trust me. But remember that I can help you with your mission. You know, my grandmother always tells me one thing, ‘Don't judge a book by its cover.’ Just because my kind has a bad known reputation, doesn’t mean I’m just like them.” Yoyo replied. There was a minute of silence. “Guys, I think we can trust him. I don’t think he’s on their side,” Angie said. Yoyo beamed. Angie gave a nervous smile back. “I guess we shall start the training then! Mario, get them the suits,” said Dr Mcfly, smiling. It was lucky that she broke the awkward silence.

A small (dwarf) man with short, black hair walked out. “Here are the suits, Dr Mcfly!” he said cheerily, handing her the suits. “Thank you, Mario, for the suits,” said Dr. Mcfly politely. The suits looked like the ones superheroes would wear. They were black and had many weapons on them. “These. Are. AWESOME!!,” Asher said delightedly. “They are made specifically for your particular powers. We all came up with the design. Try them on!” Dr Mcfly said proudly, urging them to the changing rooms. The teens changed into the suits Dr Mcfly had provided them with, and when they were all changed, they looked like actual superheroes. “I repeat, AWESOME!” said Asher. “Yeah they’re cool & all, but how are these even going to help us defeat aliens?” asked Jessie, serious.

“Well, the back pockets have blazing guns, and on your sides, you have shoulder defence equipment, on your arms, you have a danger sense calculator, and on the other arm you have a distance calculator, you also have signalling materials & walkie talkies to connect with us. And the whole suit is protected with layers of thick clothing,” Angie said as they walked back to the room where Dr Mcfly was in.

“Wow. You all look awesome in those suits!” Dr Mcfly said energetically. “Yeah, but do these all work?” Ethan asked. “You are always so suspicious all the time! You can be so rude sometimes,” Jessie whispered to him. “That is why you are going to train with those suits before the battle,” Dr Mcfly said, sounding a little hurt from Ethan’s words. The teenagers headed to a room as instructed by Dr Mcfly. The room had a martial arts station, a power-train station, and a weapon training station. The teenagers went to the station they each desired & performed at that station.

Asher knew martial arts, but since Darbie chose martial arts and she was new to it, Asher thought he’d help Darbie out a bit. “I’m a karate master, so don’t be sad if you lose to me,” Asher said with pride. He may have underestimated her because, in one round, Darbie kicked Asher so hard on the stomach, that he fell to the ground. “Ow! Darbie!” exclaimed Asher, straining in great pain. “Oops! Sorry! Wait…I thought you said you were a master in karate. How come I kicked you so hard & defeated you?” asked Darbie, helping Asher up. “I mean...Great job Darbie! I was just helping you out a bit and giving you courage!” said Asher, changing his frowns to smiles. He looked like he was gritting his teeth, forcefully in pain.

While Asher and Darbie were training, Blake and Ethan were at the weapons station. They were doing target practice with the weapons on their suits. A small, moving target was set in front of them and using their weapons, they had to hit those targets. Ethan was firing them so rapidly that he accidentally let one missile fly randomly. The missile was headed towards Blake. However, Blake didn’t notice since he was focusing on his training. “Blake! Watch out!” Ethan yelled at Blake. Blake had great reflexes so he ducked immediately as the missile flew straight above him. “ETHAN! Be a LITTLE more careful where you shoot your weapons! You could have KILLED ME!” Blake shouted to Ethan.

“I knew it. These weapons are faulty,” Ethan said. “That was your fault, you MORON!” Blake yelled. As the two boys fought with each other, Angie and Jessie were training at the power-train station. Angie was using her powers to defeat the dummies and was also training her powers with Jessie. Jessie used her powers to create a reaction to Angie’s powers, and sometimes, there were a few accidents. “Jessie! You ruined my new shoes!” said Angie, drying her shoes up with some heat from her hand. She squeezed her hands and turned the cement to rock, breaking it apart harshly. Angie then froze Jessie’s shoe to the ground.

“Angie! Ugh! Let me go! Please!” said Jessie, annoyed. Angie laughed and 2 minutes later, she melted the ice and released Jessie. After a while, Dr Mcfly walked into the room. The teenagers stopped their arguments and Dr. Mcfly said, “The time has come to see what you all have learned. But we must hurry. Our radar says that the aliens are near for the attack.” “There’s one thing I don’t get. Where do these aliens live? Like on another planet? I mean scientists have spent years trying to figure out whether aliens exist or not. They’ve even explored Mars. I read in the newspaper that they found no evidence of aliens but there are these goo drops they found here & there,” said Darbie, curiously.

“Our experiments show that the aliens are living underground on Mars, but the aliens that are attacking us are from another planet. We found the planet’s name, but not entirely. It’s in code. The numbers we got are: 2, 1, 1, 2, 1, 8, 1, and 5. The second pattern of numbers are: 2, 2, 1, and 2,” answered Dr Mcfly. “And the goo stuff is the droppings of aliens, Darbie. The planet Mars isn’t the cleanest planet,” answered Dr Mcfly, disgusted. “Eww, droppings,” all the teenagers said simultaneously. “2, 1, 1, 2, 1, 8, 1, 5. I’ve seen that somewhere,” said Angie, trying to remember. 3 minutes had passed.

“Yes! Now I remember! It was on some type of sticky note on my Dad’s desk. It had the numbers rounded, I’m guessing they were 2 digit numbers,” said Angie, triumphantly. “You could be on to something, Angie,” said Dr Mcfly. She took a piece of paper from a shelf and wrote down the numbers. “Could you remember what the pairs were, Angie?” asked Dr. Mcfly. Angie nodded her head and took the pen Dr Mcfly handed her. She rounded 2 & 1, 1 & 2, 1 & 8, and left 1 & 5 alone. While Angie was rounding the numbers, she asked Dr. Mcfly, “Does this mean that my dad was working for the Lakewood NUS Conservatory secretly?”

“No. That’s what I’m trying to figure out. How did he get the numbers if he wasn’t a part of the Conservatory?” Dr Mcfly said to Angie. “Well, if we find out what these numbers mean, then maybe we can figure out. Here you go,” said Angie, handing the sticky note to Dr Mcfly. “Thank you. Hmm...Rounding the numbers made things a bit easier, but...I don’t think numbers can be a planet’s name. There’s more to unscramble,” said Dr Mcfly, scratching her head.

“Alphabet! Maybe we have to turn the numbers into letters!” said Angie, eagerly. “You may be right! Let’s try that,” said Dr. Mcfly, excitedly placing the sticky note down on a table. “Ulrae VAL...No...It can’t be…” said Jessie. “What can’t be?” asked Dr Mcfly. “Well…My dad had given me a necklace once, on my birthday. He told me it would bring me good luck,” said Jessie, opening the necklace from her neck and showing it to everyone. Inside the necklace, the words Ulrae VAL were engraved with pure gold. “Oh no. I have a pen with those letters carved too, and it’s golden,” said Darbie, worried.

“I have a black watch with the same words in gold,” Blake said, nervously. “I have a photo of my dad & I in a photo frame my dad gave me, and it has the same words carved in as well, in gold…” said Ethan, surprised. “I have shoes with the words Ulrae VAL in gold spray,” said Asher, surprised as well. Angie tried to remember if she had anything with the words Ulrae VAL on it. It suddenly hit her that her dad had given her a key once. “I… I… I have a key with those words carved in as well.” she said, shocked. “Does that mean… That our dads could be aliens?” asked Ethan. “That could explain why we have powers…” Asher said.

“I mean, we don’t have the actual proof, right? Like my dad, an alien? He’s scared of bugs! How can he be an alien?” said Angie, nervously chuckling. The teens all nervously laughed. “Angie...It could be true. That would explain all this & your dad away from you…” said Dr. Mcfly, trying to comfort Angie. “Wait... How did you know about my dad away from me?” asked Angie, suspiciously. “Uh... Tip of advice. Don’t write diaries online. People can hack into your diary. But your dad is away from you. He could be working in Ulrae VAL, working on his mission to take over Earth & the galaxy,” said Dr Mcfly, nervously.

“No way! He told me he was on a business trip. And I’ve met his business partners. So the business trip is real. Maybe he thought of some random numbers & circled them for his work,” said Angie, with a worried look on her face. “Angie, he hasn’t even called you. And his business partners could be aliens or clueless about the fact your dad is an alien. Those are the two things that can make sense in this mystery. Wait! There may be a way to find out whether your dads are aliens or not for sure. Why didn’t I think of this before?” said Dr. Mcfly, rushing to her laboratory. The teenagers followed her and went inside the lab. Dr. Mcfly logged into her computer and clicked on an app called: Blood Identifier.

“Angie, do you possibly have your key right now?” asked Dr Mcfly, rushed. Angie nodded her head and handed Dr. Mcfly the key. Dr Mcfly scanned the key for any of Angie’s dad’s fingerprints and did some coding. “What...I scanned the key for any fingerprints of your dad’s and I found these weird blood particles. If you look closely, you can see the difference between these particles. These are circle-shaped, but your dad's is diamond-shaped. That could mean only one thing...that your dad is an alien,” said Dr Mcfly. “Wait, what?” exclaimed Angie.

  Chapter 4: The War Begins

Dr. Mcfly sighed. “I’m sorry Angie. I know this must hurt you a lot,” said Dr Mcfly, putting her hands on Angie’s shoulders. “Well, maybe your system encountered an error? Could you scan my necklace?” asked Jessie. Dr Mcfly nodded and did the same test. The results came, but a worried look on Dr Mcfly said it all. All the teenagers couldn’t believe it. They were almost about to cry. How could their dads lie to them? How come they were the bad guys?

Dr Mcfly went to search for Angie after she ran away from the door. She knew Angie could lead them to victory. She finally found her with her head down and crying in the gallery section of the Conservatory. “Hey there Angie,” said Dr Mcfly, kindly. “Please go away. I’m not in a good mood. And I’m not defeating the aliens & all,” said Angie. Dr Mcfly took a deep breath and said, “Angie, do you see this ring on my hand?”

Angie slowly lifted her head and took a look. She nodded. “When I was 12, my mother sold this because we were short of money. It was worth 60,000 dollars. If someone brought it, the money could keep us all alive for years to come. I loved this ring very much. My husband Fred, who was my love at the time, went to 30 states, searching for this. When he finally found it, he proposed to me this. I was filled with joy. He’s not alive in this world anymore, but he’ll always be in my heart. I never take this off. It means the world to me. What I’m trying to say is that Angie, sometimes, the closest people leave you, but they’ll always mean the same in your heart.

Your father may be bad, but he’ll always mean the same to you inside your heart. It is your choice whether you want to save the world or not, but remember that it may not be your destiny, but it is your choice. You can’t let destiny choose your path, but your heart too. Listen to your heart, and listen to what it wants. What do you want is the question Angie. Do you want to let your father continue his mission, or let yourself stop him and save lives for the greater good? Neither of them is a bad choice, but whatever you choose is what you will do,” said Dr Mcfly, tearing up.

Angie wiped her tears away. “I… I will stop him. I can’t let him take over the Milky Way Galaxy, even if… even if he is my dad,” Angie said, her voice shaking. “You are completely sure that’s what you want to do, right?” Dr Mcfly asked her. “Yes. Yes, I will,” Angie said confidently. “Okay then. Come with me,” Dr. Mcfly said. Angie walked behind Dr. Mcfly back to the room in which her friends were. Jessie whispered to her in a kind voice, “Are you okay?” “I’m fine now. Thanks for asking,” Angie replied.

They all turned towards Dr Mcfly, geared up and ready to fight. Yoyo was standing next to Angie. Dr Mcfly was pacing back and forth in front of the crew. “You all have made brave decisions, putting the world before yourself. You have trained hard,” she said hurriedly. She then looked at each one of them, straight in the eyes. “I believe you all can do this,” Dr Mcfly said confidently.

“And so do I. Sure our dads are aliens, but don’t you want to find the truth & save the world? Computers & technology only show facts, but they can never show a person’s emotions,” said Angie smiling. “Well there is a technology that is invented to show a person’s feeli---” said Asher, as he was rudely interrupted by Jessie’s hand shutting his mouth. “He means it can only show your feelings on the outside, not TRUE feelings,” said Jessie.

“Thank you, Jessie. I know we aren’t exactly friends anymore, but this time, just this time, let’s be friends to save the world. It is our choice to do what we want, we can’t let destiny choose our path,” said Angie, smiling at Dr. Mcfly. Dr Mcfly smiled back. “So, what do you say, are you in?” asked Angie, letting her hand out towards her friends. “I’m in,” Jessie said, grinning & walking towards Angie, and putting her hands on top of Angie’s hand.

“Of course, Angie,” Asher said, putting his hand on top of Jessie’s hand. “What do you say, I’m in,” said Darbie, hopping towards Angie, and putting her hand on top of Asher’s hand. “I’m definitely in,” Ethan said, putting his hand on top of Darbie’s. “Come on Blake!” Darbie exclaimed. “Fine, just this one time,” Blake said, putting his hand on top of Ethan’s hand. They all lifted their hands, and exclaimed, “Let’s defeat some dumb aliens!” They all worked together and showed Dr Mcfly what they’d been working on.

Darbie & Asher showed off their kicks & punches. Jessie & Angie used their powers skillfully. And Blake & Ethan started coming together in harmony. They showed off their work on the weapons. “We are ready,” said Dr. Mcfly, smiling. “And just in time. The radar is showing that the aliens are close by. They’re starting the attack in a few minutes after a quick preparation I’m guessing,” said Mario, showing Dr. Mcfly the results. Dr. Mcfly had a worried look on her face & exclaimed, “Get the army & soldiers ready! I’ll get the teenagers ready for attack.” “The aliens are here. You have to go. Now!” Dr. Mcfly said quickly and very nervously.

The teenagers headed outside fast, with Yoyo by their side. When they got outside, they could see the UFOs that belonged to the aliens and started to cook up a plan. “The aliens are searching for us. We must hide!” said Jessie. The friends ran, hiding in the car driveway. “Ok, we need to hurry. I saw a huge shuttle while passing through. I think it may be where all the aliens are right now. All of our dads might be there too…” said Angie. “Yoyo, transform into an alien & pretend as if you caught us. Then take us to the room where our dads might be. The rest is not important right now.“ said Angie, looking at Yoyo. “Sure,” Yoyo said, turning into an alien. His soft fur turned into green skin. He had crazy rainbow-coloured hair.

“Yikes! I still can’t believe that we’re about to board a ship full of green-skinned aliens. And what up with weird rainbow hair?” said Asher, with a gross look on his face. “I think this is what those aliens look like? I’m not one of these aliens. I’m a different type of alien,” Yoyo said. “Well, let’s hope it works out!” exclaimed Darbie. Angie gave them the signal to begin the plan, and everyone got ready. They slowly walked, coming upon the huge space shuttle flying. “What are we going to do now? We can’t fly,” said Jessie. “But I can. I can also lift you if I grab a hold of all of you,” answered Yoyo. His arms extended and he got hold of the whole group. The next thing they knew, they were flying.

They entered the space shuttle, and for a while, all was going smooth, but then, an alien noticed Yoyo’s hair and yelled, “He, uoy! Ohw era uoy?” “M’I Vander. I thguac eseht namuh gniklaw yb. I ma gnikat ot eht retsam,” answered Yoyo. The other alien was suspicious now. “Emoc htiw em thgir won. I deen ot teg ouy dekcehc,” said the alien, grabbing hold of Yoyo’s blue suit. (this is what the alien said in code before grabbing hold of Yoyo: Eh, you! Who are you? Yoyo said: I’m Vander. I caught these humans walking by. I am taking them to the master's. The alien said: Come with me. I need to get you checked.)

It was as if the alien forgot about the teenagers or was dumb to leave them left alone behind. The teenagers slowly walked, searching for a room their dads may be in. Then, they came upon a golden door, with 3 dots placed in the middle horizontally, the colours: Red, green, & blue. There was a golden handle, which Asher used to open the door. Inside, they found an alien sitting on a golden throne, with black hair and a blue suit.

As the teenagers walked in, the alien sitting on the throne exclaimed, “Angie? What are you doing here?” “Dad? What the…'' said Angie confused. “How come you’re here? Wait… You’re the 6 kids with superpowers?” asked Angie’s dad, getting up from his throne, shocked. “Yes,” answered Ethan. “Ethan?” said another alien. The other dads then called out their kids’ names, shocked & surprised. “Angie...I haven’t seen you in...how many years kiddo?” asked Angie’s dad, walking towards her. “4 years, 6 months, and 3 days,” said Angie, sharply. “Ah...I see you’ve been counting. How are you?” asked Angie’s dad. “Good,” said Angie, almost about to tear up, but held her tears.

“I never thought you’d be that kind of person, Dad. I mean, taking over Earth, keeping secrets, and lying to me? This means that everything you’ve ever said has been a lie! The thing that hurts me most though is that you kept secrets from me! I mean, we swore to never keep secrets from each other, especially these kinds of secrets! I trusted you, Dad,” said Angie, disappointed by her father’s actions.

“I didn’t keep secrets from you. I couldn’t lie to you about who I am. That’s why I gave you the key,” answered Angie’s dad. “Angie, come with me. Let’s rule the Milky Way Galaxy. Let’s get what we deserve. Help me with my mission,” said Angie’s dad, letting his hand out. “What about Mom?” asked Angie.

“She can rule with us as well. I love Adalia, I would never leave her behind,” said Angie’s father. “Well, let me tell you what my mission is. My mission is to stop your take over and take down your alien army. My mission is to save the lives of Earth from dangers like you,” said Angie, fiercely. Angie’s father was furious. He commanded his army to attack. “Attack! Now!” said Angie’s father. Squadrons of aliens charged toward the teens, loaded with weapons. A large alien tried to grab Angie, but Angie ducked and rolled out of the way. As the attack was continuing, Angie tried to get a glimpse of the alien throne, but her dad had disappeared into thin air.

“Where is he?” Angie cried out to her friends. “I don’t know! I saw him one moment, but in the next moment, he was gone,” Jessie replied, using her cement to block an alien attack. “Guys, try to hide or find a way to get out of this crowd! The next thing they’ll know is that they’re killing each other! I have to talk to you about the next step of our plan!” exclaimed Angie, shooting out a plume of fire to burn an alien’s hand. “Put your hands out! Hurry!” Ethan yelled.

The teens all put their hands out, and when Ethan touched their hands, they were all teleported to a different room on the alien spaceship. “Catch a breath guys. You all were doing awesome out there,” whispered Jessie, taking deep breaths. “Ok. Blake, can you hypnotize all the aliens’ minds?” asked Angie. “I’m not sure, I’ve never tried it on this many creatures. Plus, they’re aliens. And they have powers & different blood systems and all. Even if I try, it could cause a lot of destruction if I can’t completely focus,” said Blake, anxiously. “Do you think you could at least try?” Jessie asked him hurriedly.

“It might not work, but… I think I can try,” Blake said hesitantly. “Well, then we’ll need a backup plan for you, Blake. Hmmmmm... If anything goes wrong, Ethan, can you teleport us to safety?” Angie asked Ethan. “Yes, I can do that,” Ethan said. “Ok, I also have a hypothesis about something. It’s just a thought, but maybe if we calculated the formulas, it might work. Asher, I thought maybe you can do time travel. I’ve heard that if something can go fast, just close enough to the speed of light, time travel is possible. I created a few equations and if we can solve them, it might answer how to perform time travel. That way, we can find a way to defeat my dad and the aliens,” said Angie.

“Wait, what Angie? I don’t know if I can do that. I mean… I can go fast, but close to the speed of light? Is that even possible?” asked Asher, nervously. “Asher, I calculated your speed when you were fighting the aliens, and it’s faster than a zeptosecond could pass. I think you can do it. Please, just try,” said Angie, smiling nervously. “Ok, I… I guess I can try it,” Asher said. “Look, guys. I know we’re taking some BIG risks here, but I believe in y’all. I believe we can defeat those aliens & save Earth. Just remember, if we work together, we can do anything,” said Angie, smiling. Her team nodded, and as Ethan teleported them back for war, they were ready. “Let’s go kick some alien bottoms!” said Asher, excited. “Asher, manners!” said Jessie, beaming. “All right, let’s go!” Angie exclaimed.

Chapter 5: Angie’s Plan

The teens went back to the room where the aliens were. There were a bunch of the aliens in there, searching thoroughly for any sign of the teens. “Blake, go for it. We’ll distract the aliens so you can concentrate,” Angie whispered to Blake. “All right then,” Blake said hesitantly. Blake stayed the farthest from the aliens, closing his eyes and trying to reach the aliens’ minds.“Era uoy ereht!” one of the aliens shouted, running towards the teens. Angie and the others used their powers and tried to get the aliens as far as they could from Blake. The noise must have been a lot because the whole building was shaking rapidly.

“Guys, we need to stop the noise somehow! It’s building up tension for Blake”, shouted Angie, fighting off an alien with her weapons. Darbie pulled out one of the gadgets that Dr Mcfly had given them. “Leave this to me!” she yelled. Angie realized that in her hand was a sound muter. If she dropped that in an area, no one outside the area would be able to hear the sounds from inside. Darbie dropped the gadget on the floor and a force field-like dome spread over the aliens and all of the teens, except Blake. Slowly, the aliens started to get drowsy, meaning that the hypnotism was starting to work. Blake shouted, but with eyes closed and his hands touching his forehead, “You guys, go and calculate the formulas. I’ll take care of the aliens.”

“Are you sure?'' exclaimed Asher, getting out of the dome. The aliens were starting to fall to the floor. The hypnotism was starting to completely work. “Just go! It’s going to take much more time to complete the hypnosis entirely,” yelled Blake. “Guys, we need to find a way to trap the aliens, because if we don’t, they’ll get out of the dome.” “I can freeze them with cement, but it won’t last for long. That means I’ll have to stay back,” said Jessie. “Are you sure you want to stay back? It could be dangerous to leave you alone,” said Angie, worried. “I’ll be fine. We don’t have much time. Just go,” said Jessie, taking a deep swallow. “Okay…” Angie said hesitantly. Angie and the others left Blake & Jessie behind and had Ethan teleport them to another room in the space shuttle.

“Okay, so, about the formulas. We need to solve them using a bit of math and knowledge. We have to figure out how many runs Asher needs to do, how far we need to stand away from him to be able to time travel with him, and which time we need to go in the past,” said Angie, anxiously. “Ooh! We could use the speed calculator provided by Dr. Mcfly,” exclaimed Darbie. “You’re right Darbie. Care to do the honour?” asked Angie. “Eh, I’m not a math person, but sure,” said Darbie, logging into her speed calculator.

“Ok, I typed in your formulas & figured out the answers. We need to stand approximately about 6 feet from Asher, and we need to make sure we’re holding hands, so that way, in the last round Asher runs, he can touch only one of us, but take ALL of us to the past. Asher needs to run about 80 rounds, which should probably take Asher only 1 minute & 30 seconds. And Asher needs to think of the time he wants to go to go to that time,” said Darbie. “Wow. Nice Darbie. But my dad could be any age,” said Angie, confused about what to do. There was a moment of silence.

“Wait...My dad told me these stories...about an alien who was 796 years old living on Earth. I think I was about 7 at that time. That means my dad should be about 803 years old right now. So think about the times 2098,” said Angie. “WOW. That’s old. Are you sure?” asked Darbie. “It’s worth a try,” answered Angie, unsure. “Okay, then I’m going to start the runs. Stand back,” said Asher. Angie, Ethan, and Darbie all stood approximately about 6 feet back. Asher then began his runs. It had been a minute & 23 seconds.

“5, 4, 3, 3, 1, GO!” said Darbie, and Asher came blazing and touched Darbie’s hand. Darbie, Angie, & Ethan had their eyes closed, and the next thing they knew is that they were in 2098 with Asher by their side in a room. “It worked! At least I think it worked,” Darbie said. “Only one way to find out,” said Angie, heading to the door, and opening it. As Angie opened the door, with her friends following her, Asher bumped into a tiny statue of an alien sitting on a shelf, breaking it into pieces.

“Asher! They probably heard us!” said Ethan, annoyed. There was an alien sitting on a throne, but it didn’t look like Angie’s dad. It must have been another alien leader. The alien was discussing something with another alien. “Who broke my statue!” exclaimed the leader, looking at the broken statue. He got off his throne and headed to the room Angie & her friends were in. He bumped into Asher, and Asher exclaimed, “Hey! Watch where you’re going!” He must have not heard him, because he completely ignored what Asher had said. “Asher... I think you just helped us a teensy bit. I don’t think he can see or hear us. That’s good! It means we can do everything we need to without getting caught!” said Angie.

“I am not sure, Cox. But I will get that person to beg you for forgiveness if I find them,” said the other alien. “It is okay. No harm done,” said the leader out from the room. “Nevertheless, are you sure about your decision, Cox?” asked the alien. “Jax, if we do not kill him, he will show those pictures. It will ruin the secrecy of our species. If it means killing one person saves billions of other lives, it is worth it. As much as it hurts me, we must do it. I just cannot think of another way to keep our species alive. I am trying to lead us to good instead of bad you know. I am trying to change our reputation. Now go, please,” said the leader.

Jax nodded and went away. The teens walked around the room, knowing that the aliens would not be able to see them. When Angie was looking around, she glanced at a photo of an alien. Angie took a closer look at this picture and noticed it was the leader. It had a gold-coloured photo frame and below the picture was a tiny black square that said the words, “Jasper Cox,” on it in white lettering. “Hey guys, look at this. I found a photo and the name of the alien leader,” Angie said. The others walked over and studied the picture of the leader. “He must have been a good leader…” Angie said to herself. “He was a horrible alien,” a dark, deep voice said suddenly, as soon as Ange finished speaking. The teens looked around and to their horror realized that an alien with an evil grin was looking back at them.

“Wait… How can you--” Ethan started when the mysterious alien cut him off. “See you? I time travel, just like you. I’m so glad I killed my annoying cousin. He was so egocentric,” he said malevolently, pointing at the picture of Jasper Cox. “Who… are you?” Jessie asked nervously. “My name is Kuraim Nox. Hmm… I’m guessing that you, the annoying girl, are here to kill your father,” he said to Angie. “No, I’m just here to defeat him. I won’t kill him, but I won’t let him take over the Milky Way Galaxy either,” Angie said. “No. There is only killing in my plan. I have created such a plan that it is a trap for anyone who dares to enter. I cannot let you measly teenagers stop me. I must kill you. I don’t need you, teens, anyway. Come here and don’t be so stubborn. It won’t hurt at all,” Nox said, smiling deviously.

He tried to grab the teens, but they all ducked out of his reach. “We have to go back now! To the present,” Angie yelled, running with her friends by her side and Nox following them. “I won’t be able to make it quick enough!” Asher said. Ethan then touched all of the teens and teleported to a different room close by the room Nox was in. “This will buy you some time before he comes here. Hurry!” Ethan exclaimed. Asher didn’t hesitate and ran in circles, again and again, while Angie and the others held hands, 6 feet away from Asher. He was running so fast that he was just a blur to the teens’ eyes. “Hold on tight!” Darbie shouted at her friends, shutting her eyes. Nox was running to the room and almost at the door when Asher touched Angie. The last thing Angie heard was a cry of frustration from Nox as the teens were taken back to the present.

Chapter 6: The Transformation

The teens took a deep breath, and when they were back in the room they started. “Ethan, take us to where Jessie & Blake are,” exclaimed Angie, taking deep breaths. Ethan teleported them back to where Jessie & Blake were. When they saw Jessie & Blake, they also saw the aliens down to the floor, unconscious. “Blake, Jessie, are you guys fine?” asked Angie, anxiously. “Yeah, we’re fine,” answered Blake. “What happened to you guys? You look tired and worried,” asked Jessie, concerned. “Well, we didn’t get to do what we needed to do. Someone tried to kill us,” said Darbie, catching her breath.

“What!?” said Jessie, shocked. “Yeah, some guy named Nox. He killed a good alien leader as well,” said Ethan, confused. “There is a good alien leader?” asked Blake, flummoxed. Darbie nodded. “Long story short, he’s after us. With him, we can’t defeat my dad. Nox says that there is no way to defeat, only kill. Says it’s his plan. We need to find a way to stop him and buy ourselves time. I’m going to go to Dr Mcfly for advice. I mean, we weren’t expecting this. She’ll at least be able to help us,” said Angie. “Good idea. Meanwhile, we’ll try to think of a plan on what our next step should be,” said Jessie. Angie nodded and gave Ethan the signal to teleport her to the Conservatory.

The next thing Angie knew, was that she was in the Conservatory. “Are you sure you’ll be fine alone?” asked Ethan. Angie nodded, and Ethan teleported back to the space shuttle. Angie opened the door and went to Dr Mcfly’s workspace. “Miss. Angie! Are you okay? How about the others?” asked Mario, tensed. “We’re fine Mario, thanks for asking. But I would rather discuss something with Dr Mcfly if you don’t mind,” said Angie, looking down at the tiny man. “Of course, I wouldn’t mind, but Dr Mcfly isn’t here, Miss. Angie,” said Mario politely. “Isn’t here? What do you mean?” asked Angie. “Oh, she’s here, she just went down to check on some data. She’ll be back, trying to find a way to help you teenagers, Miss. Angie,” said Mario. “Uhh...Mario, please call me Angie. Miss.

Angie just sounds too formal,” said Angie trying to get a grip of her anger. But Mario could see it all. He slowly walked away, disappointed. He was only trying to help. Angie thought apologizing later would be the best option at the moment. Dr Mcfly came to her office, holding a stack of papers with her. “Angie! Are you okay? It is such a surprise to see you. Our team is working on a way to help you. Is something wrong?” asked Dr Mcfly, rushed. “It is rather private. Care to talk it out inside your office?” asked Angie. They went inside Dr Mcfly’s office, sitting down on the chairs in her office. “There has been a problem, Dr Mcfly. A lot has happened. I found out my dad is an alien. In fact, the leader of the aliens. And now I can’t find him after an argument. We fought off the aliens. Blake hypnotized a gazillion amount of aliens. We time travelled. And there, we encountered an alien named Nox. He killed a good alien leader who once existed. And he knows about my dad and my plan to defeat him. But he says the only way I can defeat him is by killing him because that’s the way he created his so-called plan. He’s coming to kill us. There’s just a lot happening as I said,” said Angie, slowly.

“Wow, that is a lot. I mean time travel & all. I would like more details but time is running out. Are you here for help?” asked Dr Mcfly. “No, advice,” said Angie. “Well, Angie, I think we shouldn’t defeat your dad. Maybe we should just forget about this plan. It seems just a bit too much for you. Let the takeover happen is our last option,” said Dr Mcfly, disappointed.“What? Are you well? This is so unlike you,” said Angie. Dr. Mcfly nodded. “You’re not Dr. Mcfly, are you?” asked Angie, looking at Dr. Mcfly’s ring finger. “What do you mean I’m not Dr. Mcfly?” the Dr Mcfly imposter said harshly. “Well, for one thing, you don’t have your special wedding ring on your finger. Also, the Dr. Mcfly I know would never give up on something if it meant the world would be saved,” Angie said with determination in her voice. “You’re Nox, aren’t you?” said Angie, though it was more of a statement than a question. “Maybe you’re not so stupid,” said Nox, smiling slyly. “Nox, what are you doing here?” asked Angie.

“Why won’t you leave us alone, and where is the real Dr Mcfly?” asked Angie, scared, but trying to be brave. “One by one. I’m here to kill all of you of course. You don’t know the real story, do you Angie?” asked Nox, with a creepy smile. “What do you mean,” asked Angie, shivering. “Your father didn’t just get control over all the aliens without me. A long time ago, I was jealous of my cousin, Jasper Cox. He was older and wise than me, so he got to rule Ulrae VAL. He trusted your father the most, and therefore I used him for my plan. I brainwashed him using dark forces. I then killed my cousin, and your father was under my control. But your father was powerful. He could only be brainwashed a little. That’s why I took this plan slowly. He's getting married to a human and having a child wasn’t part of my plan, but it’s not a bad thing either. You see, when I killed my brother, I had to give up my life to kill an immortal’s life. I then had to connect my life to your father’s soul to live. If you kill him, that means I die. And I don’t want to die. Let the takeover happen, or I will kill all your families. And your family will be the first. And you can say goodbye to Dr. Mcfly too if you don’t let the takeover happen, as well as your friends,” said Nox, furiously. “Don’t dare say a word to anybody, or else,” said Nox.

“Now, I won’t need to kill you, so be grateful for that. But your loved ones will be killed. Mark my words. Now be a good girl, and stop your friends from stopping my plan & me,” said Nox, waving to Angie. Angie couldn’t say anything. She didn’t want her loved ones to die. She slowly walked away and connected to Ethan to teleport her back to the space shuttle. As she was back in the space shuttle, her friends hurried to her. “Hey, what did Dr Mcfly say?” asked Jessie, curiously. “She wasn’t there. She was busy and had data to take care of and all. Mario said he’ll inform the scientists and try to find a way to help us,” said Angie, softly. “Angie, you don’t seem like yourself. Anything wrong?” asked Darbie.

“No, just forget about our plan on defeating my dad. Let’s just go back home,” said Angie. “What? We came so far. We can’t go back. We have people to save Angie. Where’s your spirit?” asked Asher. “I said let’s go back. There is no way we can stop my dad,” said Angie, sitting down on a chair. “Is there something you’re not telling us?” asked Blake, walking towards Angie. “Yes, but I can’t tell you, I’m forbidden to,” said Angie, quietly. “By who?” asked Ethan, chuckling. “Just...someone. If I tell you, you don’t want to know what’ll happen,” said Angie. Blake and Ethan walked back to Jessie, Darbie, & Asher. “I wonder who has ‘forbidden her’” asked Asher. “What...if it was Nox?” asked Darbie, shuddering by the name.

“Well, he would have already been back in the present right now,” said Asher. Darbie turned around, and Angie was gone. “Guys! Look, Angie’s gone!” she said, walking towards the table with a note on it. “What’s this?” said Asher, looking oddly at the piece of paper with writing on it. “It’s a ‘note’, you dummy,” said Jessie, rudely, wondering why everybody didn’t know the simplest of things. “Hey, hey. No need to be rude. And a note? Oh. Wait. Those old-fashioned things. They’re called ‘blants’ in this century. Except they’re on a computer,” said Asher, looking at the note. “It says, ‘Guys. You must be wondering why I told you to forget about defeating my dad. It’s beca--Wow, Angie’s handwriting is way better than mine’s,” said Darbie, distracted. “Darbie, continue reading. Don’t get distracted. But, you’re not kidding. It is way better than yours,” said Jessie.

“I would argue with that, but it’s sadly true. Anyways, ‘because Nox blackmailed me. If I don’t stop you guys from defeating my dad, my family, you guys, your families, and Dr Mcfly will be killed by him. If I say a word to you about this, then he’ll kill all of you guys. But he never said I couldn’t write to you about this,” read Darbie. “Typical, smart Angie” murmured Jessie, smiling. “‘I have a feeling Nox is watching me this very minute, so I can’t help you in the takeover for a while. When you need my help, connect with me. I’ll be there to help somehow. Good luck, Angie’,” read Darbie. “Wow. I knew Angie was smart, but she’s really brave. I would never be able to do that,” Ethan said incredulously. “I hope she’s okay. Nox is dangerous…” Jessie said, worriedly. The teens were quiet for a moment. “Well, let’s not disappoint her. It’s up to us now,” said Asher, heroically. “Yeah. We have to do this. Right now, she depends on us. We can’t let Angie down,” Jessie said with a confident tone. “But what do we have to do?” Darbie asked. “Well, this may seem futile, but first, we have to ask Angie’s dad for help,” Jessie said.

Chapter 7: The Final Battle

“But why?! Angie’s dad is the leader of the aliens! How could we ever ask him for help?” Ethan cried, shocked. “I know that. I’m just saying we should ask him for help because he’s Angie’s dad. Who wouldn’t help their kid when they’re in trouble?” Jessie said. “I think it’s worth a shot. It may work,” Darbie said, suddenly. “I guess that makes sense. Besides, if we don’t even try, there would be no chance of us saving Angie,” Blake said. The teens who agreed to implement the plan all looked at Ethan. Ethan didn’t say anything for a moment, but then finally caved in. “Fine! I’ll help too. I guess the plan makes sense. Sort of,” Ethan said.

“Finally! Let’s go!” Darbie said, exasperated. “Wait! Are you sure we’re ready for this? Now? Just a while back, Angie’s dad sent his alien squadrons to kill us,” Ethan said, grabbing Darbie’s shoulder before she walked out of the Lakewood NUS Conservatory. “There’s no time like the present, isn’t there? Angie’s waiting for us! Even if you’re not going, I’ll go, if it means my friend will be safe,” Darbie said, pushing off Ethan’s hand. The teens were shocked at Darbie’s words. Usually, she never took anything seriously. However, this time, she was being urged on by her friendship. “If you don’t want to come, you don’t have to, but I’ll go anyway,” Darbie said again, not facing her friends.

“I’m coming. You’re not Angie’s only friend. I want to save her too,” Jessie said, determined. She walked towards Darbie. “Same. Angie’s helped us all so many times, and now we’re going to just get off her back?” asked Blake, trying to convince his friends. “Well, technically we were never ON her bac--” began Asher, just as Ethan interrupted him, “He means he’s with you.” Asher nodded and stood beside Jessie, Darbie, and Blake. “Ethan, come on. This might be the only way to save Angie. She’s our friend, and I know she would never back down from saving any of us from any danger,” said Jessie, persuading Ethan. Ethan then walked toward them and said, “What are we waiting for? Let’s go save our friend.”

The friends smiled and ran out of the room, and to the throne room. Darbie pushed through the door with her friends and then Jessie said, “Look, Mr Lopez, we’re not here to fight you and all. Angie’s in danger. With someone named Nox.” “Did you say my name?” asked Angie’s dad. “No, I said No-- You’re Nox,” said Jessie, pausing in her tracks. “Ding, Ding, Ding! I am Nox. And it’s not Mr Lopez. It’s Kalbhati Blackmore,” said Nox, cunningly. “How com--” began Blake, just as Nox interrupted him, “I used some dark forces to possess Blamore’s body. That’s how.”

“I told Angie that she shouldn’t have messed with me. I don’t tell jokes,” said Nox, cackling like a maniac. “Wait, no. Your evil laugh is incorrect. It’s supposed to be ‘HAHAHAHA’,” said Asher, explaining. “HAHAHA?” asked Nox. “No, HAHAHAHA,” said Asher. “Like this? HAHAHAHA?,” asked Nox. “No, you need to be confident,” said Asher. “HAHAHAHA?” asked Nox. Asher nodded and signalled him to do it again.

“Oh, whatever! Do you stupid teens think you can stop me? The Milky Way Galaxy will be in my control soon, and there is nothing you can do about it,” Nox said malevolently. “And to get you pesky brats away from my plan is if I kill you. You know, I haven’t killed in a long time. This will feel good,” said Nox, getting a sword out of his pocket. He ran towards Jessie first with the sword, as Jessie backed away slowly from him, scared. As soon as Nox’s sword was just about at the tip of Jessie’s neck, Blake used his hypnotism powers. Nox slowly turned his head around and said, “You think you can stop me from killing this pesky girl here? Let me tell you something: Those hypnotism powers don’t work on me.”

“But my powers do,” said Angie, burning Nox’s hand with a fireball. “Angie!” said Darbie, relieved to see Angie was safe. “Arghhh!” hollered Nox infuriated. “Dad, I know you’re in there somewhere. Try to fight Nox’s spell. Please!” cried Angie, trying to reach her dad. “Your dad is long-gone. You think you, an annoying girl, can save him? I think not,” Nox said. “Hey Dad, do you remember that time when you fell in a puddle of mud, screaming because you saw a butterfly sitting on your hand during summer?” asked Angie, laughing.

“Arghh!! Stop it you fool!” screamed Nox. He was hurting because Angie’s dad was fighting the spell. “What about that time when it snowed for the first time? We built a sledge and rode it down together on the hill. Do you remember?” Angie asked, remembering fondly of her memories with her dad. Nox was hurting more. “Stop it this moment, you nugatory child!” yelled Nox, furious. “And remember that time on Father’s Day, you sobbed so bad because I arranged a party for you?” asked Angie, tearing up from laughing. All of a sudden, Nox’s soul came out of Angie’s dad’s soul. When Nox’s soul came out, it was glitching. Angie hugged her dad, in happiness.

“Oh, Angie! I’m so sorry,” said Angie’s dad. “It’s okay. I’m just glad you’re not a bad guy,” said Angie, chuckling in her father’s arms. Just then, all the other teenager’s dad’s came, hugging their kids. “Ugh!!! The hypnotism spell broke!” screamed out Nox. But Blake’s didn’t yet. “I guess you saved Earth,” said Angie’s dad, softly. “Oh, Nox. You greedy alien. You could have done good, but your time is done,” said Angie’s dad. Nox, disappeared, just then. “What happened?” asked Angie. “He’s done. He’s not alive anymore,” said Angie’s dad, hugging Angie. Just then, an alien came rushing toward Angie’s dad, saying, “Sir, it seems as if there has been a problem in the system. All the other aliens have started attacking Earth, causing a violent earthquake.” “Oh no. Those aliens still must be in the hypnotism spell. We must stop them,” said Angie’s dad, walking with the other alien.

“You stay here Angie, this is too dangerous for you,” said Angie’s dad, with a worried expression on his face. “We must try to help,” cried Angie to her friends. “But I don’t think we should. Our dads are going to take care of this,” said Jessie, as everybody’s dads were going away from the throne room. “No, I mean we must help Dr Mcfly & Yoyo!” said Angie, running out of the throne room, using another door. The friends went from room to room, until they finally came across the room Yoyo was in. They found Yoyo all tied up, as a dog though. “Yoyo, are you okay?” asked Asher. Yoyo muffled harshly. Jessie slowly opened up the ropes and cloth from Yoyo.

“Thank you! Ugh, I had been caught in a stupid game of poker with this alien,” said Yoyo, taking a breath. Suddenly, an alien came out of the bathroom, finding the teens. “What are you doing here?” asked the alien. “I’m the leader’s daughter?” said Angie, nervously. “Ohhhh… The human. Okay,” the alien, walking away from the door. The teens laughed because he was so calm about this. They told Yoyo about everything that happened and were immediately teleported by Ethan to the Conservatory. They all saw Dr Mcfly and Mario in a room in the Lakewood NUS Conservatory, all safe & sound. “Kids! Are you okay? What happened?” asked Dr Mcfly. “Some alien named Nox had transformed into me, but I took off the ring my husband gave me, so when he turned into me, he wouldn’t have the ring on his finger. I was hoping you would notice that sooner or later. Mario luckily saved me after I had been kidnapped,” said Dr Mcfly. “I did notice it. Fortunately, you told me about that ring, or else I wouldn’t have noticed it was missing! It’s a long story. But, there’s supposed to be a violent earthquake on Earth. I think it might be a level 9.8 earthquake. I think you should check your data and experiments real quick,” said Angie. “Angie, there’s no earth--” began Dr Mcfly, just as some things started to shake and rattle. Some of the pictures on the walls fell off and shattered into tiny pieces.

“Okay, there is an earthquake! Change of plans! Mario, I need my seismograph. Quick!” said Dr Mcfly. “On it!” Mario yelled, running towards the lab. Small cracks appeared on the floor and the floor was shaking so violently that Angie could barely keep herself standing. “This is bad. We need to stay safe. Luckily, the Lakewood NUS Conservatory is always prepared for any sort of disaster,” Dr Mcfly said, hurriedly. She pressed a small, red button on the wall and that wall opened up into a secret room. Mario came over and handed her the seismograph. She peered at the data on it and said very worriedly, “This is bad! This is a level 10 earthquake! We need to go inside. Now!” Dr Mcfly exclaimed. Dr. Mcfly pushed the children inside the darkroom, and Mario and Dr. Mcfly came inside after the children entered the room. Dr. Mcfly closed the door. “What is this place? Where are we?” Ethan cried.

“This is a room that we built in case anything like this happened. It is so sturdy and built with the toughest metals that it could even be dropped in a volcano and nothing would happen to the people inside. Just then the earthquake stopped. “My seismograph says the earthquake has ended. There might be a few minor after-shakes, but… All is good for now,” said Dr. Mcfly, checking her seismograph. Dr. Mcfly pressed a button from the inside, opening the door. Everybody got outside and found the roofs and walls broken & cracked. “Dr. Mcfly, the Conservatory…” said Darbie, trailing off. “It’s okay. I’m just glad everyone’s safe. But kids, how did you know about the earthquake?” asked Dr. Mcfly, keenly.

“Well, Nox threatened to kill all my loved ones and you Dr Mcfly, if I stop the takeover. He said I couldn’t tell anybody. I wrote a note to my friends, and they went to my dad, who was possessed by Nox. I tried to get him out of the spell Nox had used, and it worked. Now Nox is dead. But some of the remaining aliens were still hypnotized by a spell Nox had performed. And they were on their mission to attack Earth. Our dads were on their mission to stop the takeover, and they may have created earthquakes because their space shuttles are made of different materials, which made it hard to get through the Earth’s surface. I think our dads did it…” said Angie, slowly. Angie and her friends ran out of the Conservatory and went inside the space shuttle. They found all the aliens gathering an alien, dead. When Angie pushed through them, she found her dad, laying on a hospital cot. Angie fell beside her dad on her knees, shocked. Tears started to fall from her eyes, not stopping.

Even Angie’s friends started tearing up. For them, Mr Lopez always helped them during tough times and gave them the wisest advice when then they needed it. “I am so sorry Angie,” said Jessie, trying to get a hold of herself. “We’re sorry too,” said Blake. Angie didn’t say anything. She just continued sobbing. “It seems as your father may have had problems with your planet’s atmosphere, and may have died because of that, Angie,” said Blake’s dad. After a while, the aliens took the body away and kept it for the funeral by disguising it as a human and laying it on Earth, so that way Adalia would think Angie’s dad died because of the earthquake. Then Angie and her friends returned to the Conservatory and explained to Dr Mcfly what had just happened. “I am so sorry, Angie,” said Dr. Mcfly. The kids went back home secretly so that their parents wouldn’t notice they were gone. “Angie, where were you?” asked Adalia. “I was in the bathroom Mom. The earthquake caused so much destruction! Is Ayden safe?” asked Angie. “Yes, but all the buildings have been ruined! Adalia’s Delights might need reconstruction! I’m just glad you two are safe,” said Adalia, hugging Ayden (Angie’s brother) and Angie. “Did you hear that Blake’s mother, Fiona, died from the earthquake?” asked Angie’s mother. “Wait, what?!” said Angie, totally shocked.

Chapter 8: The Deaths

During Blake’s mother’s funeral…

“I’m so sorry about your mother’s & father’s death, Angie & Blake. It’s such a shame,” said Jessie, as Blake's mother's funeral was about to end. “It’s okay, Jessie. You’ve been saying sorry to me, even though my dad’s funeral already passed,” Angie said, sadly. “That’s how I’m always like during funerals,” Jessie said. “How’s your mother coping with the death of your dad? You didn’t tell her about the whole alien experience and all, right?” Darbie asked Angie. “She’s really sad about it. I want to make her feel better, but… I think it’s best to leave her alone this time. Also, I would never tell her about the aliens. That would just make her feel even worse and shocked about the situation,” Angie replied.

“Guys, I received a text from Dr Mcfly,” said Jessie, looking at her phone. “She says that after saving Earth, she was thinking we should be part of the Conservatory. Earth’s dangers will never end, and she counts on us to protect it. According to her data, it says that Earth may be in danger once again, but not at the moment. The whole data is kind of confusing, and they are working on it. Want to be a part of the Conservatory?” Jessie read off of her phone. Angie thought for a moment, then remembered her father. If she could be a part of the Conservatory, maybe she could save and protect the people who were dear to her. She looked around at her friends, thinking to herself.

“Yes. I will join the Conservatory,” Angie said confidently. “I’m in too,” said Darbie. “Sure, why not,” said Ethan. “Count me in,” said Asher. “I’m in too,” said Jessie. “Blake?” asked Darbie. Blake didn’t know what to say. He took a moment. “I’m in too. I know my mom would want me to save lives,” said Blake, looking at his mom’s photo. Mrs Anderson was a wise woman, a supportive woman. She had dark brown hair, and deep blue eyes, with a huge smile. She meant a lot to everyone in the community. “Well, I’ll send a text later to Dr Mcfly. I have to go now, and Blake, I know your mom would be proud of you,” said Jessie, smiling.

As everyone was leaving, Angie said, “Blake, I’m sorry really about your mom’s death.” “I’m sorry too. About my mom’s and your dad’s deaths. I may have made my mom think I took her for granted, but the truth is that I loved her more than anything,” said Blake, softly. Angie smiled. “You know, whenever you need to talk about these kinds of things, we could talk about it. I get how it feels to lose someone,” said Angie, giving a nervous smile. There was a thin moment of silence. “So, is your dad coming to stay with you now?” asked Angie. “No, he’s living on Mars, since Ulrae VAL is doing some reconstruction or something. He’ll still come to visit once a week though. An alien living on Earth will be staying with me,” said Blake.

“How many aliens are on Earth?” asked Angie. “I know, right?” said Blake, laughing. “I’ve got to go. And Blake, Jessie’s right. Your mom would be very proud of you,” said Angie. As soon as Angie got home, she texted her friends: Hey guys. I was thinking of having a crew name. What about The Twilight Madden Crew? We’ve got mad skills, and it’s a twilight night tonight. Plus, “crew” sounds cool. Immediately, Angie got a bunch of agreeing to replies. Angie smiled at the bright moon shining in the dark sky.
