To Be Or Not To Be

Wearing two hats or is he in two minds??

Undecided...Holds a Soccer ball in one hand possessively under his arm and walking on the paved path, along the lanes of the beautiful office complexes and a row of high rise buildings,    Jack was preoccupied with his own thoughts and emotions as he was walking.

He loved Soccer. He dreamt of becoming a famous player one day. He needed money to run his own life and pay for other accompanying expenses associated with the game. 

And..... What if he was unable to make a profession or living out of the sport that he loved so much? How would he sustain himself for the rest of his life?

Better he prepares himself for a  9 to 5 job, earns decently and tries at an opportune time to pursue his pet game God willing.

So Jack decided to take up a job somewhere for the time being. And when he did make up his mind he felt more relaxed as if a heavy load had been removed off his head.  

At least, this way he shall have a decent earning to take care of his living expenses and he could also enjoy his hobby to some extent.

Shortly, he joined a Soccer club to continue his sport activity too, thereby enabling himself to wear both the hats comfortably without any problem or confusion.

During day time, he was a thorough professional at his office, doing his work sincerely,  and by evening he lost himself in playing his best sport, his dream game enjoying every bit of it.

As a result, he was hardly getting time to relax or unwind himself from the pressures at his workplace and in his game too.

For a long time, he was torn between his passion for the game and livelihood and was unable to wear the two hats in place on his head.

Jack's daily routine was office and then practice and nothing else or no one else mattered to him at this point of time in his life.

His boss had been observing him for some time and could now understand his predicament 

He called him to his room and said that he was aware of his love for Soccer and how religiously he was practicing. Highly impressed by the way he played his game, he felt that he was meant for better things and that he wanted to help him out.

He took it upon himself to promote his interests through some sanctions that could be extended to his employees, to realize their passion or talent for any sports activity. That he could recommend his name to the concerned authorities.

Thus began Jack's initiation into a game in a more formal and professional way, something he looked forward to and loved and lived for. A dream come true at last !! And his happiness knew no bounds.

After a couple of years of training, Jack was finally selected to play for his State and he came out in flying colors. He played lots of tournaments and won many accolades for the way he played. He became a star sportsman in no time.

His interest, perseverance and hard work proved that 'where there is a will, there is a way'. 

And what a wonderful way that was...And what a wonderful journey it was for him.

He felt so indebted and thankful to his boss for promoting and providing an opportunity for him to play his most loved sport ever in this way.

The only way he could thank him was by providing an opportunity to someone who had no financial or professional support to fulfill their dreams  

Today he is a big man, a famous personality, a celebrity, someone who is grounded and respected for his attitude and achievements.  

He runs an Association for such people who can't afford to pursue their sporting desires in spite of having the talent. 

For such aspiring sportsmen, he is their Godfather, their Guardian Angel.

When someone does something good to us, the only way we can repay the gratitude is by helping or providing a similar kind of service to those who are in genuine need of this. 

After all, "Service to Mankind Is Service To God. "
