Time Machine (Part one)
It was 20 December 2017, 6:00 am. I was quite excited as I had my school trip to Jawahar museum. I got ready, had breakfast and reached school at 7:00 am. The buses arrived and all the students sat in their buses and left the school by 7:45 am. We ate snacks, played various games like antakshari, atlas and many more in the bus. Our journey was about 2 hours. We reached the museum at quarter to 10 am. We were first sent to the washroom and then to the museum. As soon as we entered the museum we felt like we have entered another world. We could see was only science everywhere. Some students felt boring but I felt interesting as science was my favorite subject. We went through biology section, chemistry section, physics section and then entered the invention section. We were left free at this section to explore all the invention. I went exploring with my best friend Swamin. We went at the end of section exploring inventions , suddenly we heard a weird noise from a room nearby. We were curious to find the reason behind the sound, again we heard a sound “screeeeeech!!!!!!!!”, we couldn’t control ourselves and entered a room, we saw was a weird cylinder sparkling like a coil with some buttons. We went more near and I said “wow such a marvelous invention, such a small coil”. Swamin said “AREYYY!! This is a electric generator”. I said “This is a coil, can’t you identify it, can you?” Swamin said “it’s a generator!!!” and we both started arguing and we started fighting. I pushed Swamin and he fell down and by mistakenly pressed the 1 button. We got scared because the sparkling thing pulled us like a vacuum cleaner and we fainted. We got up and found our self in snow. Swamin said “ Harshad bro where are we now??” I said “Do you know??” he said “no bro”. It was very cold and we were shivering, suddenly a man came and said “lord Shiva’s wife is dead!!!!!” I said “what!! goddess Parvati is dead!!!!” the man said “who is Parvati?? I am talking about Sati (Dakshayani). Swamin said “Sati, who is she?” the man said “come fast”. We went with the man and saw a woman getting burnt, we said “why are they standing rather than extinguishing fire on her body??” the man said “ she is Shiva’s wife, who can dare to save Shiva’s wife?” suddenly a angry blue skinned man came and started dancing. Swamin said “who is this man? He looks like lord Shiva.” I said “bro he is Shiva doing tandav!!” we were scared because we had heard that Shiva is very dangerous while doing tandav. He threw his trishul and killed a man by cutting off his head. We said “OH!!! God”. suddenly lord Shiva looked at us and said “what are these kids doing here”. A man said “I went to inform everybody about Sati, these boys heard and came hear”. Shiva said “take them or I’ll throw them out!!”. we were extremely scared but I dared for justice and said “lord Shiva, how can you kill a person with no reason?” lord Shiva said “who are you to question me? Who said I killed him with no reason?” I said “then give me the reason”. Shiva said “why should I give you the reason? Get lost or I’ll kill you!! . I said “kill me! Kill a child! Lord Shiva is use to killing children, you may be knowing children are god. Will you kill a child?” Swamin said “bro what a dialogue! Did you copied from Sholay? Shiva said “ Sholay? What is it?” Swamin said “it is a movie of 90’s” Shiva said “90’s? what is it? I said “stop it! Answer me why did you killed him? Shiva said “Queen Prasuti desired a daughter, Lord Brahma advised her and her husband Daksha to meditate upon the Goddess Adi-Parashakti. They gave up their royal robes, put on the guises of saints, and sat in a forest and meditated upon Goddess Adi-Parashakti. After a long time, Goddess Adi-Parashakti appeared awakening Daksha and Prasuti from their penance. Adi Parashakti invited them to request the desired boon from her, Daksha asked the Goddess to take birth again as their daughter. The Goddess gave them their consent but also gave them a warning that if ever she should be insulted, she would take up her Celestial form and disown them. Daksha and Prasuti agreed to take care of her. Back in their palace, Adi Parashakti again took human birth at the bidding of Lord Brahma. Daksha and Prasuti named their daughter Sati. Daksha was a son of Brahma and a great king in his own right. Also known as Dakshayani (being daughter of Prajapati Daksha), Sati was a newborn to Daksha and Prasuti's 23 daughters. In bidding of Adi-Parashakti to take human birth, Brahma's design was that she would please Shiva with humble devotions and wed him. It was natural that Sati, even as a child, adored the tales and legends associated with Shiva told by sage Narada and grew up an ardent devotee. As she grew to womanhood, the idea of marrying anyone else, as intended by her father, became unfair to her. To win the regard of the ascetic Shiva, the daughter of king Daksha forsook the luxuries of her father's palace and retired to a forest, there to devote herself to austerities and the worship of Shiva. So rigorous were her penances that she gradually renounced food itself, at one stage subsisting on one leaf a day, and then giving up even that nourishment; this particular abstinence earned her the name Aparna. Her prayers finally bore fruit when, after testing her resolve, Shiva finally acceded to her wishes and consented to make her his bride. An ecstatic Sati returned to her father's home to await her bridegroom, but found her father less than elated by the turn of events. The wedding was however held in due course, and Sati made her home with Shiva in Kailash. Daksha, depicted in legend as an arrogant king, did not get on with his renunciative son-in-law and basically cut his daughter away from her natal family. Daksha organized a yagna ritual and invited all the Gods, Goddesses and princes. But he did not invite Shiva or Sati because he was unhappy that his daughter had married an ascetic Shiva. Sati learnt about the yagna and asked Shiva to go with her. When Shiva refused, Sati insisted upon going and was escorted by Shiva's troops to her father's kingdom. Upon reaching, Daksha got angry on seeing her and yelled at her telling her she was not welcome. Sati tried to make him understand but to no avail. It is said that when Daksha did not stop yelling, the angered Sati took the form of the goddess, Adi Parashakti. Lightning and thunder threatened to destroy the Earth. All sorts of calamities arose as Mother Earth couldn't bear her strong radiance and power. The Gods, saints, sages, her mother, father and her sisters trembled in fear and respectfully saluted her, who was the Mother of the Universe (Jagadamba). Adi Parashakti introduced herself as the Eternal Power to Daksha and cursed him to be killed by Shiva, inclusive of all the Gods, princes and Goddesses. She cursed the yagna ritual, that it will never be completed, that Tamas would subdue its Sattvik nature. She declared that from that moment, she renounces all the mortal relationships, nothing binds her. She gave her final salutations to her husband Lord Shiva, and the mother of this mortal body, and then she prayed, hoped, that she be reborn to a father, whom she could respect. So saying, Devi Sati immolated her mortal body through the invocation and provocation of her yogic powers. As the Tatva of Shakti left the mortal shell, the mortal body of Devi Sati collapsed to the floor in scorching flames” I said “you killed him because you think that Goddess Sati died because of him. This is not right!” Shiva said “Yes!! he killed my wife, he should be punished”. I said “imagine you in place of King Daksha. Won’t you also do the same? Shiva said “ok, I made a mistake, so what should I do now? I said “give him a new head like Ganesha”. Shiva said “new head? Ganesha?” then suddenly a sparkling ball came and a 4 headed man wearing dhoti came and said “hey kid how do you know the future?” I said “future? I don’t know about the future”. The man said “don’t lie to me I am Brahma!” I said “OH! Lord Brahma!! I am your devotee”. He said “ just answer me how do you know about Ganesh and Parvati ? They will appear in future”. I said “Actually, lord Brahma we are from future, we came here by a machine. Brahma said “ok, you are from future.” Swamin said “bro I brought my phone with me, let’s take a selfie with all gods!” I said “Just stop it!! First we have to solve the problem” Swamin said “bro do you know? You are very boring! But I’m now agreeing you!” then Brahma said “Shiva agree that boy and give a new head”. Shiva agreed and sent his workers for a head. His workers bought a cows head and attached it same like he did for lord Ganesh. King Daksha again became alive and thanked, Swamin, Shiva and Brahma for giving his life back and said sorry lord Shiva. Then Shiva called me and Swamin to his house. We were extremely tired when we reached his house because we had to walk over 20 kilometers to reach Shiva’s house. Shiva gave us a room for resting and king Daksha was also given a room for living as he punished himself to live and work for Shiva. I was sleeping and suddenly Swamin shouted “Harshad!! Harshad!! getup!!” I got up and said “What happened? Why are you shouting? Swami said “what about the sparkling machine? How to get back home? I said “yes! I totally forgot about the sparkling machine. Let’s ask Shiva about it”. Swamin said “yes! Let’s ask lord Shiva”. We went to Shiva and said about sparkling machine. Shiva showed the sparkling machine and said “Is this the thing you need?” we said “yess!! How did you get it? Shiva said “lord Brahma said to give this thing to you”. We said “thank you!!” and went back to our bedroom. We decided to leave home using the machine after the dinner. We rested till evening and were provided with a glass of badam milk as evening snacks. We were enjoying at lord Shiva’s house by talking with everyone. We were soon called for dinner after snacks. There were many dishes and desserts, we ate them and went back to our room saying bye to everyone as we were going to leave after dinner. We went back to our room where the machine was kept and started thinking to press which button as there were 10 buttons. Swamin said “let’s keep our fingers crossed and press any button”. I said “let’s press second button”. Swamin said “okay, let’s press second button”. We pressed the second button and the machine started sparkling and it took us inside it. This time we again landed in snow. Swamin said “Again snow!”
