The Tree Of Hearts
The Tree Of Hearts
On top of a quiet hill, overlooking the beautiful city of Nainital, was a huge tree. Not many people visited the place and the very few who did were either young lovers looking for some privacy or creative minds looking for some inspiration. One day, a young man, wandering aimlessly, reached the top of the hill and sat under the tree. He was very upset as tears rolled down his cheeks. He wanted to scream and shout, pour his heart out, but his feelings and emotions couldn't find a voice. So he decided to write little notes in a diary he had. The pages were heart-shaped. He wrote things which he couldn't say to his love, about how much he missed her, how much he cared. He wrote notes to console himself, that life isn't fair always and the time went by shall never come back. He wrote notes to strangers, giving them hope of perhaps finding love again. He wrote notes about his unfulfilled dreams & wishes, and how he wants to move on. His love may have left him, departed to another world, but he knew she would have wanted to see him smile and be happy.
As he sat there for hours, the sun began to set. The pink and orange hues of the evening sky reminded him of his true love. The gentle breeze whispered in his ears, as though it was her saying she loved him very much. With his eyes closed, he smiled & sighed. Instead of taking the diary with him, he decided to hang up the heart-shaped pages on the tree, in the memory of his beloved. He called it " The Tree of Hearts " and wrote on it ' If your heart is burdened with feelings unspoken, leave a note on this tree, & you shall be healed ' And so the tree of hearts became a symbol of hope, love, kindness & forgiveness where anyone could pour their hearts out and maybe, just carry back a ray of happiness with them.
