The Strange Candy

As soon as I opened my eyes a beautiful lady sitting beside me exclaimed," Scarlett is awake, our daughter Scarlett is awake." No sooner did she exclaim than a young handsome man came running towards the bed I was lying on.

I was very surprised at the sight of that lovely couple. I could not understand where I was and why was that couple sitting beside me. On looking towards their dresses and their house, I could make out that it was some rich family. the lady sitting beside me had worn an eloquent diamond necklace which dazzled a lot.

The lady Mrs. Brown asked me whether I knew her. After my denial she told me that she was my mother and Mr. Brown was my father I was really out of my senses as soon as I heard this but looking at her pitiful tears I did not react much.

Many days passed and till then I was accustomed to call Mrs. Brown as mom and Mr. Brown as dad. I knew that they were not my real parents but for them I was their daughter Scarlett. They used to give me whatever I demanded.

It was the first day of March, when I heard my new parents talking. I was shocked after hearing their talks. I came to know the reason why Mr. and Mrs. Brown thought of me as their daughter. Their daughter named Scarlett was kidnapped by a fiend five years ago. A renowned astrologer had told them that they would be able to meet their daughter after five years near the peepal tree beside their house.

The couple had found me lying fainted near the peepal tree. Moreover, I had same birth mark that of a star on wrist, as their daughter Scarlett had. I could not recall how I was lying near the peepal tree.

After being able to comprehend the condition of Mr. and Mrs. Brown, I could do nothing but behave as their daughter. I didn't want to hurt them, so I never spoke out that I wasn't their Scarlett. Further there were only few days left for the world to end. The scientists had predicted that the world was going to end by the March ending. After that I would enter into new form of life.

Mr. and Mrs. Brown would not be able to meet their Scarlett but at least they would die with the satisfaction of being met that daughter as for them I was Scarlett.

Finally, it was the day of the end of the world. I was very weepy to leave my new parents with whom a strong bond of love was created. They were also dejected due to the dissatisfaction of not able to live with their daughter for more time and not being able to see her future. They knew that she had a very small life and were miserable about the thought that they were the last humans.

Suddenly, the ground split into two parts and we all were swallowed by the earth.

I opened my eyes and I found myself surrounded by all my cousins. "Hey, how was your dream." asked my youngest cousin Alex. I was charmed to see myself back to my people. I speedily rushed to my mother and hugged her tightly. All my cousins followed me. My mom could not realise why was I that emotional. Alex then explained that his father, a scientist has invented a strange candy which after being swallowed makes the brain to think and visualise a dream.

And then I could also recall that I had devoured that strange candy made by my uncle. In reality, all my cousins were sitting beside me when I was with Mr. and Mrs. Brown. It was a dream of just 15 minutes but for me it seemed to be of many months.

I was back to the humanly world, but I still felt bad for Mr. and Mrs. Brown. I gave it a thought for the whole day. Summing up,I could never forget this mysterious experience in my life.
