The Power Of Being Truthful
The Power Of Being Truthful
Do you know? Yudhishtir never killed even an ant by mistake until Mahabharat war.
Yes that's true, this is why he is called Dharmraj. Because he never killed an innocent even by mistake.
There is a famous story for this. It is said that Dharmraj Yudhishtir never told a lie since childhood and always supported dharm. He always helped others. Pleaded with this, gods blessed him that whenever he would walk, he would be in air and his chariot would an inch above the ground so he wouldn't ever kill little ants by mistake.
But this blessing only lasted until the war of Mahabharat.
When defeating Dhroracharya was becoming difficult, lord Krishna told Bhima to kill an elephant named Ashvathama which was also the name of Dhroracharya's son, and told Yudhishtir to tell Dhroracharya that Bhima killed Ashvathama. He told Yudhishtir that by saying this his team would able to defeat Dhroracharya and he would still remain honest.
After this Bhima killed elephant Ashvathama and everyone said that Bhima killed Ashvathama. Dhroracharya thought that they are talking about his son, but he thought that Bhima would not be able to kill his son. So, for confirming this, he went to Yudhishtir and asked him if Bhima killed his son. Yudhishtir said that Bhima killed Ashvathama. At that moment Yudhishtir's chariot touched the ground for the first time because deep in his heart he knew that he was telling a lie.
