Recap - ( The Pink Scarf - I)

As Siddhi headed out of the house, her son "Ishaan" returned home after his cricket practice. He knew no one would be there at home as of now, he had some plans of doing some musical practice. He loved playing the guitar and wanted to do some practice for the upcoming musical contest in the college.

He thought of taking some rest, before starting the practice. While he was sitting on the sofa and relaxing, he noticed there was a packet on the side table. As he picked up the packet to check, whose packet was it, he noticed the small card "For You" on this.

He carefully opened the packet to check what was inside and was surprised to see a "Pink Scarf in it.

Ishaan was confused seeing the packet, the biggest mystery was "Whose gift was this? and What was it doing here? Who was the mystery person who left the gift here? Now what he remembered was that his Mother and Sister both liked the Scarfs. If Dad had gifted this, he would have mentioned that on the card, but if it's for his sister "Kara" who would have given this to her?

He carefully packed the gift again, so that no one doubts that this was opened earlier.

It was then he realized that Kara's b'day was around the corner, so there is a big possibility that it's for her. But the million-dollar question was "Who is the sender of the gift"? He picked up the card again, to see if there was something written behind it, and to his surprise, it was mentioned: " Because You Deserve It". Now, that was a sweet message from the sender, but the message was not helping him to identify the sender.

Ishaan was a big "Sherlock Fan" and this seemed to be a perfect case for him. He kept looking at the card again and again and to his shock, he realized that he knew this handwriting. But where? He was trying hard to think about it but in vain. At that particular moment, he noticed there was also a notebook on the side table that belonged to his best friend" Karan".Karan came in the morning to meet him, and in hurry, he left his notebook behind.

At that moment he got a text from "Karan", Hi Ishaan, I left my notebook in your house, can you pick it up when we meet for the musical practice session at the Club House. Ishaan replied, Yes, bro. Done.

He thought he'll put the notebook in the guitar bag so that he doesn't miss it. While trying to put the notebook in the bag, he accidentally dropped it on the floor and as a result, the notebook flipped open. As he picked up the book, he noticed that the handwriting in the notebook was similar to that on the card. He carefully looked out for the alphabet mentioned in the card, they were similar to how it was written in the book.

This confirmed one thing for sure, "The Gift was from his Best Friend - Karan to his sister- Kara".

He was shocked by this kind of revelation, it was not he could have even imagined about it.

He recollected a few days back when Karan, Kara, and he went to the mall to watch out for a new movie. He remembered after watching the movie, as they were passing by a shawl store, Kara got stopped seeing the pink shawl on the dummy and said, "I wish I could get this".

Now Karan and Ishaan both made fun of her and said, "How do you manage to always get stuck seeing the shawls"? What's your obsession, now common let's go else we'll get late for home. They both literally dragged her from that place.

Karan was not only Ishaan's best friend but was like a brother to him. And well Karan's relationship with Kara was more special because "Kara" was a sister Karan always wanted to have. Karan was a single child and since all 3 have spent a lot of time playing together in childhood, Karan was more protective about Kara than Ishaan himself.

On every Rakshabandhan, Kara tied rakhi to Karan as well. And well there has been always a healthy competition between Ishaan and Karan who gives a better gift to Kara. And now since Kara's bday was coming, there was a high possibility that Karan gifted this to her, maybe as an advance b'day gift. He knew how much Kara loved surprises and well Karan was really great at giving surprises.

Now, Ishaan got really sad, how come Karan was so thoughtful for Kara always. He really loved and care for Kara like a really Big B. Yes, Kara sometimes called Karan "Big B" especially to tease Ishaan, and well to be honest Ishaan sometimes used to be jealous of Karan being called "Big B" instead of him. But today Karan actually proved that he really did deserve that title. He was proud of Karan and well this time instead of being jealous he learned his lessons well.

He too loved Kara a lot, it was just like his Dad he too struggled to express his love to his family members. But not anymore, he decided to do something really special for her bday. He called up Karan and said, "Karan, sorry buddy, I got some urgent work to catch up on. We'll catch up tomorrow for the music practice.

He realized that Kara loved reading books and what could be a better gift than "Kindle" for his little sister. He decided to visit the electronic gadgets store to purchase it and so with that thought he moved out of the house.

Kara, was at her friend's place for studies when she realized that it was time to reach home. Well, she was really excited that her b'day was coming and was thinking that this time she'll celebrate her bday at the orphanage. She was a smart, intelligent, and beautiful girl, but more than that she had a beautiful heart. She often used to visit orphanages and spend time with the kids. She made sure whenever she visited them, she got some gifts for the kids.

She always felt blessed and fortunate to be born in this lovely family. She loved her family more than anything else in the world. And Karan who was like an elder brother to her. When she reached home, she realized that there was a packet on the side table. She took the packet and saw there was a card 'For You" written on it.

Now, she knew it was too early to jump the gun, but she got excited when she saw there was a "Pink Scarf" in it because this was something that she really wanted for her bday, but who was this generous person who gave her the advanced bday gift?

This was an interesting way to give a gift, without mentioning the name, she thought to herself.

And it didn't take much time for her to realize this must be "Ishaan's "thought, after all, he was the best brother any sister could ask for. Yes, he was not often expressive about his love for the family, but she knew how much he loved everyone, and especially her. Yes, to tease Ishaan she used to call Karan "Big Brother', but deep down she knew what Ishaan was for her. He was the best friend, the mentor she could have asked for. He was always there for her, supporting and encouraging her to do the impossible.

She remembered that Ishaan's musical band was going ahead with their 1st performance in a few days and he had asked Kara to support them regarding creating some interesting flyers for the same and support them in the sale of the tickets. Not only this, their band decided the earnings would go to the orphanage on the occasion of Diwali.

She somehow completely forgot about it, so decided to meet up with her friends, who wanted to support her in creating the marketing collaterals.

Before moving out she carefully packed the gift again. and called up her younger brother "Mayank" to let him know she is going to her friend's place for some work and shall be back in some time.

It was dinner time, as everyone gathered for it at the dining table. "The family that eats together stays together", the family believed in this mantra, hence they always ensured to have meals together. Today was a special day since all the family members experienced and realized something new today.

Nitesh realized that how much he loved Siddhi, but yes it was high time that he starts expressing his love for her. And well, he had really planned out something special for her on their anniversary. All credit goes to the "Pink Scarf", for helping him to realize his feelings.

On the other side, Siddhi realized how much Nitesh loved her, that sweet gesture of buying her the gift, really swept her off. She was really blessed to have a life partner like Nitesh."The Pink Scarf" was not just an ordinary gift but a symbol of Nitesh's love.

Ishaan was happy that she got the perfect gift for her sister, thanks to that scarf to remind him, what Kara meant for him. He loved her sister, more than he actually realized and made a promise to himself, he shall always take care of his sister, even if she calls "Karan", "Big B".

Because he might not be the "Big B" but she'll always be a "Little Sister" for him.

Well, for Kara she was on top of the world. How could she be so blessed to be born in such a lovely family? Without Ishaan, she would be lost,.No doubt he was not just "Big B" for her, but was more than that for her. And she decided she'll stop teasing Ishaan by calling Karan "Big B".

Mayank realized that today there was a smile on everyone's face while having dinner as if they all are thinking something else. He really got curious seeing that and well as they were almost done with the dinner, he said to his father.

"Dad, today is Friday, it's the day that when we all share how our week went, what special happened, our learnings, and what we are thankful for. I am not sure, but the kind of smile I see on everyone's face, it feels as if everyone has something special to share.

Nitesh, smiled and said, Yes, Mayank absolutely. We cannot break our tradition. And all credit goes to you for inventing this game. This game has actually brought us together and I must say I am really blessed to have you all in my life.

I remember my father, used to always say" When we have each other, we have everything" and today when I reflect back on this, I understand what this actually meant.

And well, Mayank you know, when you suggested this game first I was not sure, what this game is going to do for us. I said Yes, because well I didn't want to break your heart, but my son I am happy that we went ahead with this game.

Ishaan and Kara both looked at Mayank and said together, "Yes, Dad, Mayank is best for coming up with this game. We are so proud of our younger brother. Even though being the youngest, his thought process never stops amazing us.

Mayank was delighted to hear so many compliments pouring in today, at the dinner table. It meant a lot to him.

Continuing the compliments, Siddhi said to Mayank, "You are the best thing that has happened to us. God bless you son.

With a smile, he replied and said, "Thank you" everyone for the compliments.

He further said, So let's begin the game, and how about we start with you Dad?

Nitesh said, Sure and I have something important to share with you all...

To be continued.....
