THE NIGHT I ALMOST GOT ROBBED

I was woken up by the noise of utensils from the kitchen. It was 3 am. At first, I thought it must be the rats. But then I saw the kitchen light was on. I got up from the bed and looked for my spectacles, but couldn't find them.

I was amused as how can that happen?

With a blurry vision, I slowly moved towards the kitchen and just as I stepped out, the lights went off except for some moonlight from window. I saw a human like shape on kitchen platform.

Just when I was about to shout, the shape jumped over me and hold me from back.

Droplets of perspiration, started rolling over from my forehead. I was convinced, that I am going to get robbed.

My mind started analysing, what the robber can take away. He pulled up a knife, put on my throat and threatned to cut.

I tried to convince him that, if he will kill me, he will not get anything. Hearing these words, his grip got bit loose and all of a sudden, I acted and rolled him down.

Now, I was in commanding position with knife in my hand. I was about to put knife on him and he shouted "Wait! Wait! If you really want to cut something, cut your birthday cake!!!"

And, then suddenly all lights got turned on and my wife and friends came out singing the birthday song!!

Of course, the robber was none other than one of my friend who brought in cake.!!!!

Phew! What a birth(day)-night that was!
