Hello! I am Mira. Since I was a small 3-year-old girl, I was scared of mannequins. Here is the story of an incident that happened to me. It tells how silly I was to be scared of mannequins! So, here goes :

One day, I went to the market with my mother to buy some stuff. My mother got attracted to some clothes in a shop and went inside. I followed her, but then, to my horror, there I saw many mannequins! I was terrified of them but my mother didn't know that so she kept shopping. I wanted to run outside but the market was flooding with people so I thought it would be better to stay inside. I tried to ignore the presence of the mannequins, but I couldn't stop staring at one of them. It was a woman wearing a black glittery dress. She made a chill run down my spine. It was as if she was just staring at me with a thin smile on her face that creeped me out. I tried to get away from it and soon my mother walked out of the shop. Phew! I was going at last!

One Week Later

My mother and I were again going to the market, and to my horror, we went to that same shop! I wished I hadn't come and had stayed at home. But there was no way I could go back home alone. So, I just tried to stay close to my mother and keep my eyes closed! But, because I had kept my eyes closed, I couldn't see what was happening and my mother also didn't notice that I wasn't following her and she went out to some other shop! I had gone walking blindly into the storeroom of the shop. The shop owner did not notice and closed the shop rather early and went. I was stuck inside the storeroom because I had fallen back somewhere and the owner closed the storeroom door! Later, I finally opened my eyes wondering why my mother was taking so long to shop. By then my mother must have noticed that I wasn't with her. I also soon got to know that the shop had been closed and because of my foolishness, I was stuck inside. I tried to open the door of the storeroom, and fortunately, it wasn't locked so I got out and went forward. To my horror, I saw that mannequin again, still staring at me in the creepiest way. But, that time I tried to take no notice of it and just wanted to find the way out. Finally, I found a spare key that worked to open the door, and also, the lock could open from inside too! I finally got out and found that my mother was standing outside the shop! Maybe she had come looking for me there. Luckily, I rescued myself and am now safe at home. Sometimes, I wonder how silly of me to be scared of mannequins! I'm not at all scared of them now!
