The Smiling Man

There was a little girl named Emily. She was sitting in her house and watching TV. Her parents were at work and she had just returned home from school. She was all alone so she thought of watching TV. After some time, she felt that someone was watching her, so she turned around to look. There was no one so she looked outside the window and to her horror, she saw a man standing outside in the garden, smiling. She was completely horrified when he saw her. He smiled a bigger smile. She was so scared that she locked all the doors and windows of her house as fast as possible.

Then, she came back to look outside and saw that the man was still there……She called her parents and told them all that had happened while she was still looking outside. She turned around for a second then turned back, but, this time, the man was not there. She heard a sound coming from upstairs as if someone was breaking the window. She ran to the stairs with a bat in her hand. He heard footsteps coming down the stairs, and then, she saw him. He was still smiling…. She suddenly hit the bat on his head, and he collapsed. Two minutes later the police and her parents came. The police took the man with them and told her parents that he was the man who had been going to people's houses and killing them. He had just escaped from the mental hospital……
