A Soldier's Holi

Ramesh worked in a Software company in a city and has developed much software in his Professional life. He was a Karate fighter, a mathematician, a sketch artist, a face reader, a singer & a very helpful person. Very rarely do we see so many qualities in a single person. 

Once few people came on rent near the neighborhood of Ramesh. They were 4 people who looked very suspicious. They never mingled with anyone in society. They used to leave their room in the morning & returned late at the night. Whenever the old landlords told them to return early, they used to say, "Why are you so concerned? We pay you the rent for this room & that also on time. Mind your own business. If you think you need to increase the rent, we are ready to welcome that. But don't ask what we do & where we go." The old landlords used to return fearfully.

In the same colony, there used to live a sweet 10th-standard girl, Roshni. Roshni's father Mr. Kishan Lal was a central government employee in the Ministry of External Affairs. His job was very hectic & crucial. Every time either he was busy on a call or writing some letters. Roshni & Ramesh were good friends. Ramesh worked in a 9 to 5 job & when he returned, he used to play with Roshani. Mr. Kishan Lal felt very happy. He used to say, "Thank you, Ramesh. You are so helpful. You know how hectic my job is. I also feel sad that I am not able to spend time with my daughter. But I feel very happy when she plays with you, laughing aloud & enjoying. I have only one daughter & she is my life."

Ramesh said, "Never mind Sir. I understand how busy you are. Central government employee & that also Ministry of External Affairs. Definitely, your salary is huge Sir." Mr. Kishan Lal started laughing, "Ok, I know. This is a common misconception about a government employee in everyone's mind." Both of them started laughing.

It was the Holi festival the next day. All the colony people were purchasing colours & having sweets. Ramesh & Roshni were enjoying themselves a lot. Everyone's face was full of colour. People were having sweets & cold drinks. Suddenly Mr. Kishan Lal came to Ramesh & said, "Where is Roshni?". Ramesh said, "Sorry Sir I don't know, what happened?." Mr. Kishan Lal said, "I think she is lost. I did not see him since morning. Earlier I thought she is with you but you are also unaware. I don't know where is my daughter." Ramesh said, "Maybe I know about your daughter."

Ramesh immediately went towards the room of those 2 suspicious people who have newly acquired an old man's room on rent. Mr. Kishan Lal followed. The suspicious people took a big & heavy sack & put it on the back seat of their car. Mr. Kishan Lal & Ramesh followed them secretly. They moved towards the nearby jungle & stopped their car. Ramesh parked his car nearby so that it is not visible to the goons. Hiding in the bushes he saw the goons taking out the heavy sack. As they opened it, he was shocked. It was Roshni inside. She was crying. Mr. Kishan Lal tried to rush toward his daughter but Ramesh stopped him. He said, "Don't worry Sir. I will handle them."

Ramesh just rushed towards them & put a blow of heavy punch in the face of both the goons. They fell down. Then Ramesh untied Roshni, cleaned her face & said, "Are you ok?". She said, "How you came here? You are so intelligent. You know all the locations of this city." Ramesh laughed & looked towards the goons. They rushed towards Ramesh with knives in their hands. Ramesh was Karate Expert. Within a few minutes, he broke the bones of both the goons. Then he took out a sharp knife from his socks & cut the throat of both the goons.

Mr. Kishan Lal was shocked to see the scene. He said, "Ramesh what is this? Why you killed them? They were kidnappers. We could have handed them over to the police. But you killed them. And how do you know such great fighting skills? Tell me who are you? Something is wrong?"

Ramesh said, "Relax Sir. I did not want to disclose my Identity. But since my mission is over, I must tell you. I am an Indian spy. The kidnapping of your daughter was pre-planned by the terrorist organization as they wanted to force you to give them India's secret documents.

But everything is fine now."

Ramesh bent down his knees & came near Roshni, "Roshni, I will leave now. My task is over. Be happy always, & always be with your parents whenever you go outside." Ramesh looked emotionally into the eyes of Roshni & then without saying a word, quickly moved away."

Roshni was crying, "Dad, please stop Ramesh. Where is he going?". Mr. Kishan Lal said, "He is on duty Roshani. Let him go." The sweet innocent Roshni said, "Today is Holi dad. Today is a holiday." Mr. Kishan Lal smiled and said, "Yes, it is Holi. And do you know why we are able to enjoy Holi so much?" Roshni asked, "Why dad?"

Mr. Kishan Lal looked towards her daughter, smiled, and said, " It is because even today, Ramesh has no Holiday."
