It was a moonlit night with absolute silence and calmness. My mother had gone to my grandma house by train. She was expected to reach her destination by the next morning.

My dad has gone for his business tour to Dubai. It was me all alone in the house with no company. I thought to call my friends for a night stay at my house as I was afraid to be alone. Unfortunately, all my friends could not come for their own personal reasons. So I was confirmed that it will be my first ever night in the house all alone.

I had just finished my dinner and gone to my room to sleep. It was around 11:30 p.m. Being alone already made me afraid and moreover, it restricted me from sleeping. So I turned on the TV for a while. Suddenly, I heard the phone ringing from the main hall. I was anxious that who could call so late night at my house. I went and received the call and I was shocked and almost fainted after hearing the speech.

It was from the hospital telling that my mother, Mrs R. Ghosh, who was travelling by train was no more as because the train had collided with another train and it resulted in severe injuries and deaths of many people of which my mother was one. I fell the land beneath my feet swipe away, leaving me hallucinating.

I did not waste a single more second and set out for the hospital which was like an hour away. As because it was late night and there were no buses or auto-rickshaw available now, I had to call up my friend Sameer whose father had his own car and asked him to request his father to kindly take me to the hospital in his car. His father readily agreed and I along with Sameer's dad and his mother set out for the hospital in rush. As we reached there, we saw that the hospital was full of patients and dead bodies who were victims of the train accident.

I rushed to the receptionist and asked him about my mother and she replied with sorrow that she had died and has been transferred to the 4th morgue chamber. The receptionist agreed to send me to the morgue along with Sameer's father and a nurse. They took me to the morgue and I could see my mother's body full of blood throughout the body covered in a white cloth. I opened the cloth to confirm that it was my mother only and to my ill stars it was none but she.

I laid down in the morgue itself and could not resist from drowning in a pool of tears. Uncle tried to console me a lot and took me back to his house and asked me to stay in his house that day and would inform my father about it once they reach the house. I somehow tried to console myself and went to their house for the night and immediately informed my father about it. He was shocked and cancelled all his business meetings and booked tickets to Calcutta in the next hour.

He reached the next morning and we went to the morgue to see her and his condition could not be described in words. The receptionist told us that we will have to take her for cremation of her body as they could not keep her long in their morgue chamber as the body has being identified by the family members. We somehow tried to console ourselves and keeping a stone on our emotional hearts, we took her for cremation. We reached our house back by late night and we could not have any sleep because of our tensed and anxious minds. I somehow made my father sleep to take some rest after forcing to take one sleeping pill. I do not remember when my eyes also closed for some sleep.

Suddenly, I heard the bell ringing in early morning and hearing it I leaped from my bed and suddenly called my father that someone had come. When I, holding his hands went to open the door we were shocked to see the guest.

It was none but my mother.
