THE LIGHT HOUSE PART-3

                                                   

 Sylvia was leading her married life very well. She had completely forgotten the episode of Krishnan who had planned to kill Sylvia and her grandfather to get hold of her property. She was kind enough to forgive him for his sins. Though Krishnan tried to be good with her but got depressed due to shame he had to face. He stopped meeting people. No one could see smile on his face. On the other hand, Sylvia was trying hard to adjust in her new life and was taking care of her in- laws as well as her grandfather. Her Nanny was giving her all updates. Her in-laws house was not very far from her grandfather's house. It was only 8 kilometres away from there. Sometimes she used to stay with her grandfather and Nanny. Time passed.

Krishnan was not active in looking after his business due to depression and shame. But his both sons Narayan and Mohan were very angry and wanted to take revenge from the Brahmin family who had informed Sylvia about the plan of murder made by their father Krishnan. Both of them were also of the same temperament like their father- short tempered, self-centred and rude. They thought of giving a lesson to that poor Brahmin Ramaya and his wife Malini.  This poor farmer had a small piece of land and were childless. They had bought a young male calf and named it Nandi. Both husband and wife took great care of Nandi like their own child. It also kept on chasing them whenever he was not chained. He used to play around and both got amused on seeing his naughty activities. One evening both were discussing that they should make a will that after their death all the land and money to be in Nandi's name for his welfare. They wanted Sylvia to be the trustee as they had no one else whom they could trust.

 Somehow, this news got leaked and both Narayan and Mohan made a plan to force Ramaya to make them the trustee Nandi. Nandi was small at that time. One evening after drinking alcohol both went to Ramaya field and ask them to change the will. But he refused and did not listen to them. Both threatened him to kill in his field but even then, he refused. On this both lost their temper and got hold of his neck tightly till he was dead. Nandi was watching all this but he was small and chained hence could not do anything to save his master. Both picked up the dead body of Ramaya and hanged him in the store room of grains. Later they informed the police and his wife Malini that Ramaya had committed suicide. The police came and investigated. Later the case was closed.

This news spread like fire and Sylvia came to know about it. she consoled Malini and assured her that she would be standing by her side for all her help. After 8 months, one evening both sons of Krishnan came there and asked her to hand over the papers of her property which was not much. But she also refused to sign the papers they had brought. And they both started beating her and brought her out of the house forcefully. She shouted for help. On hearing her voice, Nandi broke it's chain and ran towards both of them to rescue her. It was not small now but was a grown-up bull. It recognised both, the murders of its master Ramaya. It Injured Mohan very badly and was attacking Narayan. Malini tried to stop it but it did not. Some villagers came running there on hearing their shouts and called the police. Police came and saved both of them from Nandi. With great difficulty they were able to chain Nandi. Police asked them strictly from both of them about this incident. They gave harsh treatment to both of them. They broke down and told that last year, both of them killed Ramaya and Nandi was the only witness present there. But they thought being an animal it can't speak. But this time when they were beating Malini, Nandi recognised them and started attacking them. They accepted the charges of murdering Ramaya and beating Malini. The court sentenced them for 10 years.

 Malini kissed and patted Nandi for saving her life like a son. From then onwards Nandi became everyone's favourite. It was treated with respect. Malini took great care of it and Nandi came close to her.
