Hi! I am Jenna and I am going to tell you a story which I experienced first hand that will give you the creeps. How I mustered courage enough to enter the GRAVEYARD and how I was on the verge of being killed in the process…

It was just a normal day for me, spending it with my friends and joking around in the park when my friend Laura’s ball fell in the house right next to the park. “It’s fine. I’ll not get that ball again because I am not stepping into that house. Anyone else has a ball we could play with?” she said. The house was very old and it was half wrecked and in shambles. Cobwebs and creepers covered the entire house and in the moonlight, it glowed eerily. The residents were scared passing by it at night and due to the scare it evoked, it was nicknamed THE GRAVEYARD.

Since I was new to this town, I had no idea what they were talking about and why were they so scared. I never bothered asking because whenever I tried they just asked me not to talk about it, but they always warned me not to go there ever.

Everything was good but when you hear what happens it will beat the living daylights out of you. And so it began…

I was on my way to Ruby's house, who is also my best friend. Her house is on Washington Street which is on my way to school. I pick her up daily and then we both continue on our walk to school.

Today as I was on my way to pick Ruby, my mobile phone rang. It was Laura our classmate and a very good friend. She asked me to come and pick up my books which I had forgotten at her place last night for our group study. I needed them in school today and agreed to pick them from her place as I was up early anyway. Honestly, I was a little scared I did not want to go to her place alone as enroute I had to pass that spooky house which everyone called THE GRAVEYARD.

I headed off to Laura’s place filled with apprehension and just as I was about to reach there, I heard a weird noise from THE GRAVEYARD as though someone was calling me. I was this close to her house but my curiosity got the better out of me and instead I went into THE GRAVEYARD. With all my courage and taking the Almighty’s name I put my hand on the old rusty gate and pushed it open and stepped on the old dry grass. Every step I was taking made my heart thump louder.

I reached the door and was about to push it open when I heard loud footsteps from within as though someone was approaching me. My lips trembled and I could barely speak. Muttering all my courage I asked, “Who is there?”. From within I could hear someone say “I am”, and before I could hear anything else I felt a sharp blow on my head and I fainted. I woke up all groggy and dazed in a dusty room. I could see many people lying around me. I tried going up to them to wake them up. What I saw next shook me up. Those were not people but dead bodies.

I heard a shoveling sound and peeked out of the window and saw a hooded figure burying people just like in a GRAVEYARD! I thought it was my turn next to die so I started crying and shouted for help. I heard the door being opened and I got creeped out when I saw the person opening the door…

It was from Laura.

She rushed towards me and hugged me. I asked her did she know I was here when she told me that she had seen me enter this house and immediately called the police as she got worried about me. I thanked her and the policemen and asked them who was that person who was killing everybody?

The policeman said his name was Henry Edwards and the house belonged to him. He was killing everybody because he wanted revenge for what people had done to him and his family. He confessed that he lost his house in a debt and he and his family were forcefully removed from here. Homeless, he and his family wandered on the streets. They resorted to begging, but one day heavy rains hit the area and they were drenched head to toe without any food and shelter. Due to the cold and chills, all of his family died one by one and he was left all alone. That is when he decided to take revenge on the townspeople and get back his house. He entered it silently and started making creepy sounds and movements to scare the other residents. If anyone tried to enter the house, he killed them and buried them in his backyard. The police told her “You, Miss Jenna, are very lucky that he didn’t manage to kill you and left you for dead.” He thanked Laura for her presence of mind and sharp vigilance, which helped in saving Jenna’s life and in capturing the criminal and putting an end to the crime.”

Ruby had heard about everything and came rushing to the police station. She hugged me and we both burst into tears of relief. Finally, the ordeal was over.

The house was taken over by the town municipality and was made into a children’s and old age home. The house where people were killed and buried was now an abode for the homeless and needy.

The End
