The Dilemma of Paradox!!
The Dilemma of Paradox!!
During my initial experience with air travel, I used to literally dread taking a flight during night hours. I used to get very uncomfortable and was so scared of all that darkness around me. But gradually, as I grew older, I have now kind of started looking forward to them.
There is still a nagging fear while taking off in darkness, but at the same time, it's exciting as well.
The view is both frightening and fascinating. On one hand there is this pitch darkness just waiting to engulf us, like a silent observant black hole bidding it's time to suck us inside; and on the other hand there is an unrestricted view stretching as far as the horizon or may be beyond.
The fog has settled, the air feels light and clear, all the city lights stand out brightly in the contrast. One could practically delineate the whole city plan, as if it's as simple as a child' splay. All the complexities and complications just vanish in thin air, giving way to a clear uncomplicated view of not just the city but practically everything in life. The criss cross city roads, the parallel highways, the merging and diverging traffic; every chaos seems to fall in perfect place.
And then as we fly beyond the city, there is engulfing darkness which is both silent and peaceful. But suddenly out of the blue, there comes a randomn light source standing alone but shining so brightly that it fills my heart with so much hope, as if it is bravely fighting and defending against all the odds. At times this darkness feels like an empty void that could never be filled and at times it appears to be an unexplored ocean of infinite possibilities. That nagging fear slowly looses its grip and gives way to serenity and a different kind of peace and calm.
And isn't this is the same as what happens in our life also. The darkest phase in our life sometimes gives us the clearest view and understanding of all the "what's", " Who's " and "why's" of our life. The silence sometimes gives us the best answer to all the "could have's, would have's and should have's" of life.
And it brings me to the age-old conclusion, life is how we see it and it becomes what we make of it!
