Recap

Swati, Swati, wake up beta, what happened, why are you shouting in your dream, both her parents were trying hard to wake her up.

When she opened her eyes, she realised it was a bad dream, she hugged her mother tightly and started crying loudly. Her parents tried consoling her, stating that it was just a dream and should not worry.

But for her, it was a harsh reality that had hit her. Though it was just a dream, yet she felt it was a reality.

She was not aware of the invisible storm which was approaching in her direction.

She told her parents about her dream. They listened to her, but said, It's just a dream. Nothing else. She should focus on her studies and not on her dream. She was in school and had ample time to prepare for medical and let her dream come true.

Her dad said, "Beta, don't worry so much about thinking about the future, that you miss out on the present moment. Because this present moment that goes away shall never come back. And I know you want to be a doctor, but God forbid even if you are not able to do so, I am sure you'll excel in whatever you do. Whatever you do, just follow your passion. Passion is the fuel that drives your life and lucky are those who discover their passion and walk on that incredible path.

I know being a "Doctor" is a big deal for you, and we would the happiest person on the earth if that happens, but don't tie yourself to this to such an extent that your life comes to a halt at this.

She had tears in her eyes and said, No Dad, my dream, my passion is just being a "Doctor", nothing else. I know I am too young to decide on this, but my life is all about being a doctor, nothing else.

I want an MBBS degree in front of my name and the world should recognise me as Dr Swati Arora, I don't want to settle down on anything less than this.

Her mother then said, "Baby, we are proud of you, but all we are doing is trying to protect you from being hurt.

However, Swati intervened and said, "Mom, I'll become a doctor only. That's it.

Swati's parent looked at each other, they got tensed seeing this side of her's. But again, they thought she was very young, maybe as she grows she'll understand sometimes when we are busy making our plans, Life happens.

After having this conversation with her parents, Swati called up her best friend, Naina. She was her childhood friend, and both shared everything.

Swati was upset and angry post this conversation and was looking for some comfort from her friend.

After listening to the dream, followed by the advice shared by Swati's parents, Naina said, Swati, I guess you are unnecessarily worrying about it. There is ample time until you prepare for the medical exam and be a doctor, until then why are you taking this dream so seriously. And that dream is just a dream dear.

You just focus on your studies and rest let things take their path. I feel, Uncle, Aunty was right. Yes, being a doctor is important for you, but...

Even before Naina, could complete her sentence, Swati said, Naina, I don't believe this. Even you are agreeing to what they said. It's, my mistake, I should have not called you. Anyways you are clueless as to what you'll become when you grow up. How would you understand my dream? Anyways, Bye. See you in school tomorrow.

And she disconnected the call.

Naina felt bad for Swati, not because she mocked at her being clueless about what she wanted to become; but she was worried about Swati.

Till now, she had never behaved this way.

It felt as if she was talking to someone else, it was not a good sign. She decided she'll try and talk to Swati about it and shall make her friend understand it.

Little did she know, things are going to take a bad turn in the next few days.

Post disconnecting the call all Swati could think was, 'Maybe Naina is jealous that I'll be a doctor one day. She is not good at studies, God knows what she'll do when she grows up. Though she had been my best friend, yet she didn't support me now.No worries, the day I'll become a doctor, she'll get the answers.

On that night strange things happened again, she got the same dream...

The next morning got very difficult for her, she was sweating badly and started crying. Her parents came rushing to her listening to her voice and tried comforting her.

They knew she again saw the same dream but was still struggling with how to console her.

Their yesterday experience was not good and didn't want to trouble Swati more with that.

Even Swati didn't know what to say to her parents. She was confident it was just a one-time thing, but how come she got the same dream again.

How on earth was this possible?

Of all the dream, she could saw, she had the same dream again.

What, if that scary dream got true? What if she didn't become a doctor? Her life would be over. She just can't think of anything beyond being a doctor.

Since summer vacations were going on, she decided to go jogging, which could help her to clear her mind.

There was a big park near her place, so she decided she'd go there to get fresh air. Generally, she used to go jogging with Naina since she stayed close by, but remembering how their last telecon conversation went, Swati was in no mood to call up Naina to accompany her for a walk, hence decided to go alone on this.

So, as usual, she had put on her tracksuit and her iPod that played her favourite music before she stepped out of the place.

Though her day didn't start on a good note with the terrible dream she had, however, the pleasant weather uplifted her mood immediately. Even though it was summers, yet there was something different about today's morning. It was a bit cloudy as if cloud and sun were up to some mischief of playing hide and seek. And the sun had hidden well enough. There was a light breeze in the environment that was a big surprise, especially considering how humid it was yesterday.

This park was her favourite spot, she really enjoyed visiting this place. As she was jogging in the park, something noticed her attention.

She saw someone looking similar sitting on the bench.

He was the same old man, who has been appearing in Swati's dream past 2 days. How was it possible, she was shocked to see him.

Few years after this incident......

Wow, this sounds exciting and scary. You met the same old man whom you saw in the dream. So, what happened next? What did he say to you? Did you become a doctor? she asked.

Swati smiled and reply, It's a long story. Before I tell you, did I fulfilled my dream, you need to know what happened when I met the old man I saw in my dream...

To be continued...
