THE BIG MONSTER

Many years ago, there was a small village located near a forest. The people in the village worked in different ways to earn their living. Women walked long distances to bring water, and the children studied in a small school that provided education for the village children.

However, the most difficult thing for the children was crossing the forest every day. They had to pass through the forest early in the morning to go to school and return home in the evening.

In that village lived a young man named Deepak. He lived with his family in a small hut near the forest.

One evening, Deepak returned home after finishing his work. At night, Deepak and his parents sat together on the floor and had dinner.

Deepak’s father asked,

“Deepak, when will you go outside the village for higher education?”

Deepak replied,

“Yes Dad, I am thinking about higher education. But not now because I want to stay in this village.”

After the conversation, Deepak went to his room and slept.

The next morning, Deepak woke up and got ready for work. Because his workplace was far away, he reached there late.

In the afternoon, Deepak went to another shop for lunch. Inside the shop, he sat at a table and started eating.

Beside him, two people were talking about a big monster that lived in the forest. Deepak listened carefully to their conversation.

After finishing his lunch, Deepak went back to work, but he kept thinking about the monster.

That night, Deepak returned home after completing his work. He was very tired and lay down on the bed. After some time, his mother called him for dinner.

Deepak came downstairs and sat for dinner, but he was still thinking about the monster.

His father noticed this and asked,

“Deepak, what happened?”

Deepak replied,

“Nothing.”

His father said,

“Deepak, don’t hide anything from me.”

Deepak said,

“Dad, today I went to another shop for lunch. Two people were talking about a big monster that lives near the forest. Is it true?”

His father replied,

“Deepak, just relax. Those are fake stories. Don’t listen to those kinds of things. Finish your dinner and go to sleep.”

But Deepak could not stop thinking about the monster.

The next morning, Deepak woke up at the same time and got ready for work. After coming downstairs, he had breakfast. When he finished his breakfast, he left the house for work.

During his journey, Deepak saw a cave near the road. He became curious and decided to go inside the cave to see what was there.

When Deepak entered the cave, he heard a mysterious sound coming from deep inside.

He slowly followed the sound and walked further into the cave.

Suddenly, Deepak saw a huge monster sleeping on the ground.

Deepak was shocked and did not understand what he was seeing.

He quietly tried to escape from the cave. But accidentally, his leg stepped on dry leaves, making a loud sound.

The monster suddenly woke up.

Deepak became frightened and ran out of the cave. He tried to close the cave entrance so the monster could not come out, but he was unsuccessful.

Soon the big monster came out of the cave.

Deepak ran as fast as he could. After running a long distance, he finally reached his house.

His father saw him breathing heavily and asked,

“Deepak, what happened?”

Deepak said,

“Dad, I saw the big monster sleeping inside the cave!”

His father looked surprised and said,

“What are you saying, Deepak?

Deepak replied,

“Dad, please believe me. I really saw the monster.”

His father said,

“I believe you, Deepak. But how can we tell this story to the villagers? They may not believe it.”

Deepak said,

“Dad, let us gather the village people and tell them everything. Then they can decide whether they believe it or not.

Deepak gathered all the villagers near a big tree in the village. He told them the whole story about the monster he had seen in the cave.

The villagers listened to Deepak, but no one was ready to believe him. Some villagers laughed and thought that Deepak was imagining things.

While Deepak was still explaining about the monster, a strange loud sound suddenly came from the forest. It sounded like something very large was moving toward the village.

The villagers looked around in confusion. They did not understand what was happening.

But Deepak immediately understood.

“The monster is coming toward the village,” he said.

Soon the sound became louder. The villagers began to feel afraid.

Deepak looked at everyone and said bravely,

“Don’t worry. We must stay together. If the monster comes to our village, we will fight it together.”

Soon the big monster entered the village.

When the villagers saw the monster standing in front of them, they became extremely frightened.

People started running in different directions to save themselves.

Deepak tried to stop them.

“Please don’t run! We must stay together and fight the monster!” he shouted.

But no one was ready to listen to him.

The big monster began attacking the villagers, and fear spread throughout the village.

Deepak realized that fighting the monster in this way would be very difficult.

After thinking for a moment, Deepak made a brave decision.

“I will fight the monster,” he said to himself.

Deepak started making weapons using strong bamboo sticks.

When the villagers saw Deepak preparing to fight the monster alone, they slowly came back and began helping him.

Together they cut many bamboo sticks and made long weapons.

Deepak then made a plan.

“We will put fire on the ends of the bamboo sticks and throw them toward the monster’s face,” he explained.

The villagers agreed with the plan.

They lit the bamboo weapons with fire and prepared themselves.

When the monster came closer, Deepak and the villagers threw the burning bamboo weapons toward the monster’s face.

The flames hit the monster strongly.

At the same time, the big monster became seriously injured. It roared loudly and tried to move, but it was too weak.

After a few moments, the monster collapsed on the ground and died in the same place.

For a moment, the villagers stood silently. Then they realized that the monster had finally been defeated.

The villagers became very happy and shouted with joy.

Everyone thanked Deepak for his bravery and leadership.

The next day, the villagers gathered together and celebrated their victory. From that day forward, the people of the village lived peacefully and happily, without fear, because the big monster was gone forever.

Deepak  became known as the hero of the village, and his bravery was remembered for many years.
