Term And Condition
Term And Condition
Do relationships also have terms and conditions?
If yes, then what kind of relationship is it that runs on conditions,
that binds each other with rules,
and sets limits on the relationship…
Live-in Relationship…
Today, if we talk about live-in relationships, you will very easily notice people around you who lead a double life — that is, a life they show to the world is one thing, and in their personal life, they live a completely different life. This phenomenon has even been given a name by modern trends. Yes, we are talking about live-in relationships…
Today's generation does not want to be tied down by marriage, yet they want everything that comes after it. A whole new trend has emerged in the name of love. But the question is— is this right?
Live-in relationships may indeed be legal now, but what impact are they having on today’s generation? Is this right for the youth of today? And is it really good for India that live-in relationships are legally recognized?
Terms & Conditions.
It’s very good to be modern or to keep pace with the times, but is it right to do anything and claim freedom to do anything in the name of modernism?
‘’Sejal and Vivaan,,
They had been in a live-in relationship for quite some time and were very happy together.
Sejal was from Delhi, and Vivaan was from Mumbai. Since Sejal’s job was in Mumbai, she had built her own little world with Vivaan, away from her family. Vivaan, who could convince her about anything he wanted, always did so with ease, and Sejal would agree.
They had rented a separate house in Mumbai, so they didn’t face any problems living together.
But the problem was this.
Sejal believed that her live-in relationship with Vivaan was going very well and that she would marry him in a few days.
On the other hand, Vivaan was already engaged to the daughter of his father’s friend — something he had completely kept hidden from her.
What was going to happen when Sejal found out that Vivaan was engaged to someone else?
"Vivaan, we have been in a relationship for two years. I think this is enough time to understand and know each other…"
One day, Sejal finally spoke to Vivaan because her family was also pressuring her to come to Delhi and discuss the next steps for marriage.
He always just nodded at the mention of marriage, and she thought maybe he just needed a little more time.
“What, baby? Why rush into marriage now? Life is just beginning, enjoy it…”
Life isn’t meant only for enjoyment, Vivaan.
At some point, we must also give our relationships a name.
‘In this world, walking together through life becomes meaningful only when a relationship has a name.
‘’Sejal, if I don’t have any objection, then why are you reacting like this?
Don’t you trust me?
Vivaan, trust is one thing, but sooner or later we do have to get married, don’t we?
I know, Sejal. Just give me a little time.
Once I’m settled in my job, only then will I be able to talk to my family about you and move things forward.
Vivaan gently brushed her off every time she brought it up. Gradually, Sejal started feeling frustrated and upset…
Sejal had crossed every limit in her relationship with Vivaan, and she was exhausted from making excuses even at home.
She had decided that today she would speak to Vivaan frankly.
Her life wasn’t so meaningless that she would let it be wasted like this. She loved Vivaan with all her heart, but now Sejal had also started feeling afraid because Vivaan didn’t take her seriously.
One day, Sejal wasn’t feeling well.
She thought that after returning from the office, she would go to the doctor.
That evening, after returning from the office, Sejal went to the doctor.
But the news she received there made her feel as if someone had pushed her from a great height…
Sejal was two months pregnant….
She returned to her flat from the doctor’, sejal was walking heavily and exhausted,
On the way, Sejal tried calling Vivaan,
but his phone kept showing as continuously busy.
Sejal was deeply depressed…
She kept thinking, “What will happen if anyone finds out?”
As she reached home she saw sejal’s mother was there with her little sister Neha….
Seeing Sejal, her mother became worried.
“What happened? Why have you become so weak?” she asked.
Gently, her mother stroked Sejal’s head.
Neha, Sejal’s younger sister, spoke up,
“No, Mom. Sejal didi has always taken care of her fitness, just like she used to in Delhi.”
“I’m fine, Mom. How are you and Neha?”
“I’m fine, just that your father hasn’t been well lately… he is missing you,” Sejal’s mother said, hugging her tightly.
“Yes, Mom. Once I get a leave from the office, I’ll come home for a week… I miss Dad too,” Sejal replied.
Sejal’s mother and sister stayed with her for two or three days before leaving.
How Sejal spent that time… only she knew.
She tried calling Vivaan several times, but he didn’t pick up.
She was very scared about her pregnancy, and time was slipping away…
Sejal was extremely anxious and restless.
That day, after coming home from the office, Sejal waited for Vivaan late into the night. When he didn’t arrive, she called his number.
After two or three rings, a girl picked up the phone.
“Hello, who is this?”
Sejal was shocked…
“May I speak with Vivaan?”
“Vivaan is in the bathroom. ‘Who’s this?” It was a female voice from the other side.
‘I am his friend sejal ‘May I know whom i am talking with?
“I am his wife, Sanjana.”
The phone almost slipped from sejal’s hands…
Vivan’s wife..???? When did he get married?
Lots of things suddenly attacked sejal's mind and she just felt suffocated.
Then she heard Vivaan’s voice from the other side.
“Whose call is this darling??? He asked for sanjana .
“Hello, Vivaan here…” He probably spoke without even checking the number.
But Sejal couldn’t say anything more. She disconnected the call and collapsed onto the bed.
This had happened, and… Vivaan had never let her even find out.
She couldn’t sleep all night and just kept crying. Vivaan called two or three times, but she didn’t pick up.
At 6 a.m., the doorbell rang.
Sejal opened the door with heavy steps… and there stood Vivaan. His face showed that he hadn’t slept all night.
“Sejal… I’m sorry, my love…””
As soon as he came inside, he started explaining himself.
“I was going to tell you… it all happened suddenly, just last month…”
“Last month?”
Sejal was even more shocked.
“It’s been a month, and you didn’t even think it was important to tell me?” Her voice was trembling.
“And now you’ve come here to give me false excuses? Just get out of here…”
She said, crying,
“Last month, my father had a heart attack,” Vivaan said in a breaking voice.
“He mentally pressured me into doing all this.
I swear, baby… I didn’t even have the courage to tell you.
So many times I thought of telling you,
but I couldn’t bear to see you in pain…”
He said with folded hands,
“Please trust me…
‘ I don’t have that kind of relationship with her.
We are together only because of my father’s wishes.
I was always yours, and I will always remain yours…”
“Vivaan, I’ve been trying to call you for the past fifteen days, but you haven’t responded at all.
What does all this mean?”
“Yes… I’m here. Tell me, what happened, Sejal?”
“I’m pregnant.”
“What… what are you saying, Sejal?”
Hearing Sejal, Vivaan was completely shocked.
Suddenly, he shouted,
“I’m saying exactly what I said… I’m pregnant.”
Vivaan collapsed onto the sofa as if the world had come crashing down on him.
“Baby… we’ll have to consider an abortion… there’s no other way now,” he said.
Sejal felt deeply hurt by his words,
but she was powerless herself and couldn’t do anything either.
Vivaan made every possible effort, and in the end, he managed to win Sejal back.
Sejal believed his words again.
On the surface, everything seemed normal once more,
but now Sejal started teasing him over every little thing.
She began pressuring him about marriage.
And Vivaan…
he kept repeating the same old excuses—
“First, I will divorce Sanjana,
then I will be with you…”
The story had come full circle,
to the point where there was trust…
but no peace.
Day by day, Sejal began falling into depression.
Her love for Vivaan had stopped being loved and had turned into pain.
Yet, she couldn’t bring herself to stop him from staying close…
holding onto the hope that maybe Vivaan was forced into this situation.
And so…
This continued for 7 whole years.
By now, Sejal had lost all connection with her family.
Meanwhile, Vivaan’s interest in her gradually waned as well.
Whenever she tried to call Vivaan, he would make countless excuses.
When she called, he would answer only once in ten attempts.
And even then, he would scold Sejal—
“I was at home, why do you keep calling all the time?”
Or—
“I’m stressed with work and office problems, why don’t you understand my issues?”
Sejal would quietly listen to him…
and in private, she would just think—
She had even lost her home because of Vivaan…
and it was only because of him that she was living in such pain…
Was Vivaan’s suffering really greater than hers?
Time passed.
Life moved on…
But Sejal remained stuck in the same place.
Vivaan had now become the father of two children.
Yet even today, he would say to Sejal—
“Baby, I love you… only you.
I’m just maintaining this relationship out of compulsion.
You know that, right…”
And Sejal…
Every time she heard this,
she would convince herself
that perhaps this was her fate.
But what she didn’t realize was
that a relationship that remains only a promise
can slowly kill a person from the inside.
Sejal had been ill for a week.
She had called Vivaan many times…
holding onto the hope that maybe he would come,
take her to the doctor,
and felt anguished when he heard about her illness.
But after calling him repeatedly, one day Vivaan came, furious.
Crossing all limits of anger, he shouted—
“Are you out of your mind?
Do you know I have a home, a family,
and so much pressure from my job?
What do you want me to do,
commit suicide? Tell me!”
Seeing this side of Vivaan, Sejal completely broke inside.
“Vivaan…
I’ve been sick for a week…”
she said, crying.
“So what do you want me to do?” Vivaan snapped.
“Take you to the doctor and announce to the whole world
that even though I have a wife and children,
I have a relationship with you?”
“And today, understand this clearly—
I am not your husband.”
“And do you even know
What are the Terms and Conditions of a live-in relationship?”
“This relationship is meant to be enjoyed,
not to ruin each other’s lives!”
“Did I ever stop you from getting married?”
“But you never had any sense!”
“You couldn’t even build your own home,
so don’t destroy mine!”
‘’Term & Conditions…
‘’Term & Conditions…
‘’Term & Conditions…
‘’Term & Conditions…
‘’Term & Conditions…
‘’Were these words or acid,?
Vivaan was constantly pouring over Sejal.
And she felt a burn inside herself even stronger than acid.
“Stop it, Vivaan…”
Sejal said in a breaking voice.
“After today, I won’t disturb you.
You enjoy your life…”
With that,
She closed the doors of the house.
A few moments later,
she heard the sound of a car starting…
he was gone.
Sejal collapsed right there on the floor.
There was no strength left in her body.
She had fainted…
Sejal lay unconscious on the ground.
Her body felt weak and cold,
but the pain inside her was far more intense.
Days passed…
yet the anguish inside her didn’t lessen.
Vivaan’s incomplete love, false hopes, and constant taunts
had become wounds on her heart.
She no longer spoke to anyone.
But even in the silence, the sound of her tears echoed in her eyes.
Her soul was fighting with itself,
thinking every moment—“Why did I have to endure all this?”
Vivaan had become the father of two children,
yet he had never truly loved her.
Every time, it was the same excuse—
“This is a relationship out of compulsion, try to understand me…”
—It shattered Sejal from within.
Sejal began to feel completely alone and helpless.
The person she had loved the most
was the one who had hurt her for life.
Day and night, her mind kept thinking—
“Is this what love is?
Is this what a relationship is?”
She had realized that
a person who stays with you only out of excuses and compulsion
cannot give peace to the heart.
And that very night,
when silence had spread to every corner of the house,
Sejal felt for the first time—
that her life now depended solely on her own decisions.
From now on, she would decide for herself
whom to love,
whom not to love,
and whether to put her life at risk for someone or not.
The pain inside Sejal had now crossed the limits of what she could endure.
Vivaan’s false love, his constant taunts, and their incomplete relationship were breaking her heart again and again, every single day.
One day, as Sejal sat alone in her room,
she said to herself—
“I can’t bear this pain anymore.
My love is killing me,
and my self-respect has been wounded again and again.
Now, I must save my own life.”
She got up and slowly opened her old diary,
where she had written down years of pain and hope.
On every page, Vivaan’s name and betrayal were written,
on every page, her love and the sacrifices she had made for him.
Sejal took a deep breath.
She made a decision—
she would no longer ruin her life for Vivaan.
She somehow shared the fear and loneliness within herself.
Slowly, she realized that love isn’t just about giving or enduring, but it must also be for one’s own respect and happiness.
In the following weeks, Sejal completely cut off contact with Vivaan.
She began to rebuild her life on new terms, with her dignity intact.
She thought,
“I will live my life for myself,
not for compulsion or false love.”
Vivaan was now left behind,
and Sejal, slowly understanding her pain,
began to rediscover herself.
She had realized—
that true love isn’t meant to hurt someone,
but to support and respect them.
And so,
Sejal turned her pain into strength,
and began to live her life again with freedom and self-respect.
Sejal took another step, one that broke all the barriers and pain inside her.
She picked up the dustbin and threw in all the gifts Vivaan had given her,
his small and large belongings,
and every single thing connected to him.
Every item had felt like a burden in her hands,
and now she wanted to remove them completely from her life.
Then she set them on fire.
One by one, the items disappeared into the flames,
and with them, all her old memories began to burn away as well.
But Sejal didn’t stop there.
She picked up her diary,
in which she had written years of pain, betrayal, and incomplete love.
Slowly, she tore out every page
and handed them over to the fire.
As the pages burned,
Sejal felt—
She was now freeing herself from all the mistakes, pain, and bonds within her.
The heat, smoke, and flames from the fire
brought a strange, subtle relief inside her.
With every burning page,
she moved further away from her old wounds and false love.
And for the first time,
Sejal felt a light sense of freedom and strength in her breath.
Vivaan’s world was left behind.
All the gifts he had given, the lies, and his incomplete love—
were now reduced to smoke and ashes.
Sejal said to herself—
“Now my life is in my own hands.
I will not let myself be destroyed by anyone’s compulsion or false love.”
And that night,
in the light of the fire, Sejal rediscovered herself…
Not every story ends the way Sejal’s did…
but the truth is, today’s young generation is often drifting in the wrong direction.
We are not saying that you don’t have the right to live life your own way.
Freedom is important. Modern thinking is important.
But every decision you make is tied to your future.
Before taking any step…
before accepting any relationship in the name of love,
it is essential to truly understand the person you call your partner—
your so-called second half.
Ask yourself honestly:
Will this relationship stand by you tomorrow,
or will it break apart like a garland woven with weak threads?
Because love should never cost you your dignity,
your peace, or your life.
Choose wisely.
