Like everyday Tenali went to the durbaar. King Krishnadevaraya had been waiting for Tenali to arrive.

Tenali had history of events where he proved his worth as scholar and value advisor to the king.

The king asked Tenali if death can be predicted and if yes, how would he know what to do with the time left to live?

Tenali knew exactly what to answer but he didn't want to. He instead left the king with a puzzle, "Your Majesty, if today was your last day, what would you do?".

The king felt mocked and he ordered Tenali to leave immediately. The king didn't realise the hidden meaning behind Tenali's question.

Later in the night, the king was lost in thoughts if truly today was his last day what would he do. He now seem to know answers to the questions he had.

The next day morning, he called for Tenali to arrive at the Raj Durbaar. He then proudly called out Tenali's wisdom in asking the question, "What would you do of today was your last day?".

Tenali then added his insights, "Yes, Maharaj, even if we could predict death, we can't avoid it, it's inevitable. But, what we can do is, to treat every day as a blessing and live it as if it were our last day."
