Tailor-Made

Was the message conveyed in the speech delivered by local minister who had come to our locality for a campaign.

We again ignored him because that was his usual say every time there was election around.

We kids wanted to make the most out of it. We had asked our parents to take us to the rally, specially because they would also be a mela organized after that to lure in the localities to buy things for free and in return vote for the distributing party.

Our teachers in school had told that this is not how the elections should happen. Casting vote should be a proud right and not something that can be sold in some mela or a bazaar. As kids, what mattered to us was fun and mela. But, growing up taught us a lot. It made us realise the value of a vote and a chance to elect a representative.

It will be a tailor-made choice if we choose to not vote. Instead one should cast their vote as a foremost duty towards the Nation.
