Stop bending your elbow

Once there was a competition between Suras (Devs) and Asuras to decide on the superiority through intelligence & physical strength. Needless to mention, Asuras won the combats with Suras as they were physically stronger than Suras i.e., Devs.

After the combats, everyone was very anxious and restless with hunger. The delicious, full of varieties, sumptuous and lip-smacking food was brought there, and the smell was so good that it was hard to wait even when it was being served to each Sura and Asura. They all were looking at food and at each other in a very impatient manner. It took quite some time for so many varieties to be served to every one of them, finally, the food was served. Now, everyone was waiting for the announcement to start the lunch, but alas!

Sura Guru Brihaspati announced that the competition is not yet over! We can't decide the superiority unless the examination is performed to test all physical, mental, and psychological strengths of both the teams. Now, everyone looked so puzzled. They were just dreaming of having this delicious food, smell of which is still filling their nostrils but here's the Guru, asking that it's not yet done! Some of Asuras were even thinking of accepting the defeat and declare themselves out of the competition, so that they can start having their food, now it's getting out of their control! All of them just kept some patience and started waiting to hear what Guru ji has to offer.

Guru Brihaspati started, now as your physical strengths are already tested, we need to examine your mental strengths along with psychological one as currently, you are not in your best physical state, you all are very hungry. So now you all can start having food, but the challenge is that you can't fold your elbows to have food. Your elbows to be kept straight all the time while having your food!

All the Suras and Asuras look so puzzled, how the hell is this possible, elbows must not be folded, then how can we feed ourselves! Their minds are also not working being so hungry! Some on the Asuras directly started eating through mouths like cows, but it wasn't satisfying! They were getting frustrated and angry that which kind of challenge is this, that too when they are so hungry! They were trying different means, but all in vain!

All Suras were in deep thoughts so crack the challenge! Some of them were just sitting at one corner thinking, some of them were doing brisk walks to get some idea. There was, suddenly a stir in the Suras group as someone presented an idea to stop thinking of feeding oneself but let's make a team of two and feed each other, in this way, everyone's hunger pegs be satisfied, and they don't have to fold the elbows!

Voila! What an idea, sir ji!

Suras quickly implemented the idea and within few minutes, they were fully satisfied with all the delicious food served! In fact, it was full of laughter and a lot more satisfying to feed others than feeding self.

And with this challenge, Suras won the competition, and they were declared "Superior", and they won focusing and serving others!

I believe through COVID, we humans are being challenged now, enough of thinking about only ourselves, enough of only living for ourselves. In this quest of finding ourselves, achieving newer heights and acquiring more and more, we have totally forgotten about our own families, leave aside the community, we all are a part of! We have become just so busy in feeding ourselves that we fail to see how many people are sleeping without food, they don't have basic amenities like house, clothes, education, safety & security while we are busy in hoarding months' ration so that we are not out of the food during the lockdown!

This is the time, which has come to convert us from Asuras to Suras! Stop bending your elbows & feed others to survive!

Either we all will survive, or we all will be doomed! What do you choose!
