I never knew why exactly this happened to me, why my mind changed, why I accepted or even protected him.
My name is Andrea Peirce, and this is the story of me and Jake Holston.
I walked down the road near my house only to stop and look around, I knew something felt off, it's like that gut feeling of dread that you can't shake off, you know something bad might happen but you don't know when or what. I ignored and kept walking it was the afternoon and I was walking from school. When I reached my house I again looked around before going back inside. I locked the doors and headed to the kitchen, I knew mom and dad weren't home yet so I grabbed a soda and the Takis bag and went upstairs to my room. I put my bad on the floor and sat on my bed putting the soda on the desk that was next to my bed which currently held an led lamp, essence dispenser, my tablet and my Echo (aka Alexa). I grabbed my phone and started watching Tik Tok videos while eating my Takis.
I eventually got bored and decided to do my homework since I procrastinated long enough. I finished all of my H/W and checked the time on my phone sighing in annoyance when it indicated it was only 6:30pm. I got up and changed into my excercise clothes which consisted of a black tank top and red gym shorts. I took my phone and went downstairs, I texted mom that I was going for a jog and like always she didn't respond so I texted dad who quickly responded a simple "okay, we will becoming home soon", I put the phone away and focused on walking. At about 2 miles I stopped and turned around only to see that I had no frickin idea where I was. I wanted to facepalm myself but resisted the urge and just walked back the direction I came from and then there was that feeling...the feeling that someone was watching me. I grew nervous, but I kept walking subtly quickening my pace and taking out my phone and putting Google maps.
That's when it happened, I heard footsteps behind me and as I turned my head to see who it was, I saw the gun pointed at my head and the masked face that was holding it. Everything happened so fast, I was frozen, I was in disbelief and at that moment I realized one important factor, it was dark and no one was outside. I was alone in a foreign neighborhood and my parents won't know where I was. I threw my phone at the person hitting his/her masked face, he/she stumbled a growl escaping from their lips, I ran away as fast as I could. Not once looking back, I took a sharp right, straight into a dark alley without thinking, I skid to a stop and went to turn back and that's when I saw the Gunner, run towards me I had no time to grab a weapon, he/she tackled me to the ground and pointed the gun at my head. I stopped fighting and struggling, I was tired and pinned to the ground. The Gunner seemed to smile and move the gun down the side of my face and stopping at my collarbone "you shouldn't have thrown that phone, darling" the male voice behind the mask spoke.
I shuddered involuntarily, my eyes staring at the gun which had moved down to between my breasts. He chuckled and grabbed what seemed like a zip tie from his pocket, "know don't be stupid and try to scream or hit me, I'm not afraid to kill you right here right know. Know slowly place both hands in front of me." He commanded with a stern voice. I moved my hands in front of him and he quickly ziptied them together tightly which made me wince in pain. He caressed my check with gun before hitting me hard in the temple, I saw darkness and then nothing.
