A family in Burari episode 2
Readers, this is an episode of a true-crime series. I refer you to please go through previous parts.
So, Lalit miraculously got back his speech. And everyone said Daddy came Daddy came. According to a report, a customer in 2008 asked Lalit about his regain of voice. Lalit said to him, Daddy came into his dream and told him to make a hawan in the home. After that Lalit gradually stopped talking to people outside the home.
Other family members were also like stereotypical simple middle-class people. Tina and Savita, people say, we're also simple and mixing in nature. In one incident they say, they really took good care of their maid keeping her in their home, when she was suffering from a fracture.
Bhavesh was quite entertaining, he owned a grocery store. Basically, it was a gossiping place for people. Sometimes, his daughter Nitu also used to sit there to help his father. She was also jolly type, her sister Menaka was a little studious and conserved.
Dhruv (son of Bhavesh and Savita) and Shivam ( son of Lalit and Tina ) were also bright students. They were also like normal kids, doing cycling and playing cricket with friends. Their friends say they have quite more faith in God according to their age.
Their aunt Pratibha used to take tuitions in their home. While her daughter Priyanka was working in a company CPA Global. Their coworkers say she was quite co-supporting and helpful in nature.
To be mentioned that, her engagement was also done before that incident.
The family had a pet dog also named Tommy. If we separate Lalit's case, then we can relate it to any family we see in our colony. When I was going through the archives, I found many news articles implying the family was backward, uneducated etc etc.. Nothing was like that, the family was just an average educated middle-class family.
Coming to Lalit's case, after regaining his voice, somehow due to grief family considered Bhopal Singh ji came back to Lalit's body. Family members, after the death of Bhopal Singh ji became quite more spiritual and involved in frequent worship rituals.
In an interview, Miss Sarma, their neighbor, Said that every night after 9 PM whole family used to do Kirtan, the children once said her that it's Daddy's arrival time.
This Kirtan is quite special, but more on this in upcoming episodes. Lalit used to sit in front of everyone in this Kirtan, which implies that inspite of being a younger son, he took the head of the family position after his father's death.
Lalit's character is quite important in this case. Like we know, Lalit lost his voice in plywood incident. While doctor said, he may have some issues in neck. But physically his voice organs were perfect, instead of that he had stopped talking to anyone. The reason behind the silence of Lalit clearly implies that he was physically able to speak, but inspite of that he remained silent which clearly means he had some mental issues.
Mental issues for which he was unable to speak. By the word mental issues, I am not saying he was mad (pagal ). Whenever people listen to the word mental, they start thinking about Asylum (pagal khana). No, nothing was like that. It was just like an anxiety disorder, if you google it, you can see the term "selective mutism" perhaps Lalit was going through somewhat like that. To be noted, it's just speculation, Lalit was not diagnosed with anything.
Obviously, because who cares about mental health in India. When this happened to Lalit, he struggled with his own for some years. But after his father's death, the grief gave him a trigger point. For a person going through mental issues, grief can be a great trigger point for him.
According to me, the grief turned his suppressed disorder into a full fledged psychotic disorder. After which he felt that, Bhopal Singh ji came back to his body. Lalit was not the only person in grief , we can see the whole family was in grief.
After a shocking loss, gradually we start to latch on some things. For his family, it was the claim of return of Bhopal Singh ji in Lalit's body. Family members changed their whole lifestyle, they stopped eating nonveg.
Bhavesh who used to drink usually, stopped drinking at home. Frequent pooja and kirtan started taking place.
Now starts Lalit's Dairy writing, ya, those famous dairies in which many things are written. Bhopal Singh ji passed away in February 2007, in September 2007 dairy writing started.
We will look into in the pages of these dairies......
