Past is Never Dead...
Past is Never Dead...3 mins 19 3 mins 19
Noble laureate William Faulkner cited, “The Past is never dead, Its not even the past.” And I truly remember this quote from the movie “ Dear Zindagi”. I always feel the quote, History is always important, I mean the little past of our lives. All memories considered forgotten are stuffed somewhere in our little brain, sometimes it is easy to recall sometimes it is not. And these few months are going very tough. To be honest, before this sanitizer used to be an upper-class item for me. So, it has been a rough couple of months. And I do not want to forgive China for this. In the morning with every ring of the alarm, I get to make a to-do list for the day. Everything from cooking to ironing. Well, I surrendered on the later very soon. It was not my cup of tea. Yesterday morning I woke up late and reluctant because of the late-night soccer match. And I was cooking my staff half asleep, came back to senses when sprinkles of hot oil slashed into my wrist, damn! It was hot. Maybe it was the most happening event for the day. How pathetic! you want to rewrite the quote…? now it seems even present is dead to me.
The other day, I was scrolling my Fb page. Whenever I stayed up at midnight, I tend to check the memories on Facebook. It always brings something to smile about just before closing my eyes for the day. So, on that day, it came a blank, I refreshed a few times. No luck, no results. A long message displayed that I decided to skip. Some other day, we shared a picture on our WhatsApp group and had a long discussion about it. Memories… always brings multiplying happiness. (?) but it is always interesting, how everyone had a different take on the same picture. And sometimes some truths were revealed after so long.
The funny thing, even history can be rewritten. The incidents happened to you, the days you loved carry different emotions depending on the mood. These feelings are not alien to us. And nowadays its more relevant cause we all have the time to look back see those memories down the lane. The pictures when we used to smile spontaneously, the caught in the act weird pictures they hold tons of memories. I doubt today's say cheese and fake candid pictures will serve the purpose or not if there is going to be the second lockdown in future. Or we will make a pathetic past. And someday in the future, we will look back at these days and thank God for keeping us alive. Because you know, past is never dead and history never forgets.
