Pandemic and Lifestyle

The difference between possible and impossible lies in one's determination. Firm determination can move heaven and earth.

As this pandemic started, everything was locked down and we had to stay at home. All fitness centres, gyms, public parks and walking tracks were temporarily closed. From fitness freak youth to elderly morning walkers, all were forced to leave their fitness routine and were to live a sluggish life. Many people think, staying at home for a prolonged period of time posed a significant challenge for remaining physically fit and active. But is it really a massive challenge to remain fit? I believe, not at all.

Have you ever thought physical activities can be valuable tools to help you remain calm and keeps your immune system function optimally? Exercise is also an excellent tool for stress management. But the question is How can I be active without a gym? How do you get moving when your bed or couch beckons you?

All u need is a pinch of motivation and a spoon of determination, then mix it into your technique and voila! You are ready to be fit again.

How about building some strategies? Set new goals, Stay accountable, Have a believe in good results and most important, look forward.

Feeling too tired to exercise? Focus not on how low you feel but on how energized you'll be when you're done. Shouldn't we consider what Newton said "A body at rest wants to stay at rest, and a body in movement wants to keep moving".

Gyms and outdoor physical activities are helpful for keeping you fit and healthy but they are not the only thing existing. A will creates a way. There are many other ways to keep one healthy.

Everyone is aware of the countless benefits of yoga. It keeps one not only physically healthy but also boosts our immunity, emotional and spiritual health. All yogasanas can be practiced in your garden, balcony, terrace and even in your bedroom. You don't need a gym for it.

Keeping fit at home can be very interesting. This pandemic was a boon in disguise for the revival of old forgotten indoor games that our parents and grandparents used to play like Hopscotch, Rope skipping, Hoola Hooping etc.

Even I played all these games during the pandemic. It not only helped me keeping active but i also enjoyed and I built a better connect with my family while playing.

You can't exclude dance, aerobics and zumba from a balanced fitness regime. Many drills including Cardio do not need the heavy machines available only in the gym.

Concluding with American Athlete Wilma Rudolph's words "It doesn't matter what you're trying to accomplish. It's a matter of discipline. You can stay home, stay disciplined and stay fit".
