Cricket is the only game known popularly from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. It's the game played by people of all age groups. As an Indian, I'm no exception in getting attracted to cricket. I started playing cricket even before joining the school, but during those days I don't know this is going to change my life track. Most of the children would desire to become the God of cricket before they enter the teenage but then their mindset would get changed automatically knowing the fact that only 15 best players would get a chance in the Indian team to represent the nation. But in my case, those were completely different. Even though many people insisted on me not concentrating on games over studies, I never bothered them. I continued to play my game. My parents tried every method to make me not to play cricket. But anyone among that didn't get succeeded.

At one stage I felt bored playing cricket with my age group children as I thought that they were nowhere near to my level. Then I thought of playing with elder people. Then I approached some elder people to join me in their team. They also accepted and asked to come on Monday by 3 pm sharply. I was sure that my parents won't be allowing me to put leave for just playing cricket. So I planned something else. I suddenly start to cry in the morning pretending as if I'm suffering from stomach pain. My family knows that I'm acting and so compelled me and pushed to school. In school, I continued my acting but my staffs were also familiar with my acting level. Now I decided to do something else. I just bunked school and went to the ground. With full of dreams, I entered the ground but my seniors didn't allow me to play. They asked me to sit out of ground as a substitute. They also guaranteed me that they would allow me the next day. Now I got a confused lot. My confusion was all about choosing the legal or illegal way to put leave for school for one more day. I know legal way won't work out. So one more day I bunked the class and went for playing. But they didn't allow me to play even on that day. Then one of my friends in people who were playing in the ground said that they would allow me to play cricket only when I own a bat. I tried to ask a new branded bat with my dad but the situation was completely different. My parents came to know about the mews that I bunked the class. They were tensed because of my activities. My dad bet me for this and so I started crying. My mom wanted to convince me and so she brought me food items that I would wish to eat, but I wasn't convincible. So she gave me a promise that she would buy me a bat if I pass in all the subjects in the upcoming exam. I was sure that it won't be happening for sure. But as usual, a criminal idea struck in my mind. I reminded him that one day my class topper asked his parents to buy him a storybook but they denied to buy him. So I decided to buy him that storybook with the money that I saved. The next day I rushed to the book store. I was waiting there even before the shop got opened. As soon as the shop opened I bought that book and rushed to Roshan's (class topper) house. I knocked on the door of his door. His mom opened the door and asked the reason why did I knock on the door. She got tensed that I came to call her son to play. Knowing the reason for her tension I explained that I haven't come there to take her son to play. I showed the book that I got for him. She got tension once more. She scolded me not to divert him from the curriculum studies. But Roshan had noted that. Next day as soon as I came to school a gentleman agreement was made between us. He said, " You read me this complete story and explain to me. In turn, I would make you get pass marks in exams. " I liked that deal and accepted it. Both of our wishes got succeeded. As I had written all the exams well I was forcing my teachers to correct the answer sheets earlier. Then the result came. With the results, I rushed to my home and showed it to my mom. I reminded her of the promise that she made. She said, " I remember... "

She took me to the shop nearby to buy me a bat. But I asked her to take me to the shop was I would get a branded bat. But she somehow convinced me and took me to that shop. In that shop, there was no branded bat, but my mom convinced me to buy a non-branded bat. I was sure that the seniors won't allow me to play with them with this non-branded bat. Then I decided to just buy a sticker that has a famous brand name on it. I bought that sticker and pasted it on the bat. As exams got over, my parents won't be stopping me to go for playing. I took the bat and entered the ground. One of senior got the bat from me and said, "Hey kid are you going to play with this non-branded bat over here??? You did everything so perfectly to cheat us, but you forgot to check the spelling of the brand present in this sticker ." Everyone started laughing at me. They chanted at me as a brainless kid. I became a shame. I rushed to my home by crying and then went to my mom and scolded her for not buying me a branded bat. Then I locked the door of my room and I was crying the whole day and night. The next day I took that bat and gone to the usual spot where I would play with my aged children. There they treated me like a princess as I had a new bat with me. I could also easily make all the people over there to believe that the bat I had was branded. I also said several stories with them about that bat. At one stage knowing that they are going to believe whatever I said, I added that " this bat is the bat used by our Indian team captain during world cup matches. " I was wandering in that area as a hero. As it was a national club cricket match season in India many foreign retired cricket players came to our country for advertising purposes. They played gully cricket with many local guys in India. Likewise, they came to play in our area also. I too played with them. Many appreciated me for my playing skills. I felt proud of that and with that fame, I joined a cricket coaching center. I used to take tough tough practices daily. I couldn't spend a lot on buying cricket kits and so I use to play with the kit already present in that center. Then state level club matches started. Seeing my talent I was also selected in a team to play for a state-level club match. I performed really well in those matches. But that didn't change my economical level. I was still in the same situation as I was in earlier times. Then days passed as usual.

One day I was rushing to the coaching center by early morning. It suddenly started raining heavily and so the class on that day was canceled. I became very upset about that. I was standing at the bus stop waiting for my bus. I saw the Sun rising beautifully. The breeze from the beach was gently touching my face. That rain, chillness, and Sun made my mood so happy. All of a sudden I felt so brisk. I started to dream. In the dream, I was playing a test cricket match representing my nation. I scored a triple century in it. All my dreams broke as someone was tapping at my shoulder. After seeing that person I decided that I'm going to make her as my dream girl. She asked for an address with me. That address was next to my home. Then I asked to board the same bus that I'm going aboard. Then we started to chat with each other daily as she was coming to learn music nearby my home. Then that turned out to love. I was selected to play for a team in the national-level club match. I was scared a lot to play in my first match before a huge crowd. Due to that tension, I wasn't able to perform well in that match. Many of my friends told me that as I was concentrating on love, I wasn't concentrating on practicing cricket. But I know the fact that I had never compromised my practice because of the new relationship. Luckily I was selected for that next match. On the morning of the matchday, I texted my lover not to miss that match. I said " I'm going to make a history today. Don't miss it.

As I promised her I scored the maximum run in the history of national-level club match. Because of that, I got a sponsorship call from a leading brand manufacturing bat. ( It was the bat brand that I used to play gully cricket. Oops, sorry no more lies...)
