Rohan was a boy from a small village. His father had a job where frequently he had to change his place of residence. He, therefore, moved alone while his family stayed back in the village where he used to send a certain part of his income for their livelihood. In the month of April, Rohan's Father got a promotion and he decided to bring his family into the city now where he was working.

Rohan was very excited as he had never been to a big city. When he went to Mumbai (the city where his father worked) he was so happy on seeing the life there. Now parents decided that Rohan should get admitted to a new school. Rohan was a very intelligent boy but his way of dressing and everything was very similar to Village people as he had stayed in the village only since his birth. His admission was done to one of the most prestigious schools in Mumbai.

It was his first day of school and he was quite very nervous. However, he did go to school but things didn't go as he expected. Everyone in the class welcomed him with sour faces and he was treated kindly by none. The teacher introduced him to everyone and all the students again made weird expressions knowing that he used to live in a village earlier.

Days passed but nothing changed. On a very fine morning teacher informed all the students about the drawing competition that was going to be held next week. Everyone seemed excited as they were told to make their drawings in teams. No one was ready to be in the team with Rohan. He talked to the teacher about it and got to know that they could participate without teams as well.

He still wasn't happy but his parents insisted he participate in the competition. After a lot of discussions, Rohan made up his mind to participate. He got his name enrolled in the list. On the day of the competition, everyone was making fun of him as he was the only one participating individually. He was very upset and told his teacher to cut his name as he decided not to take part. However, the teacher had already realised Rohan's potential and insisted he participate.

Now it was the time for the competition to begin. Everyone made their drawings with their friends but Rohan made the entire thing alone. He had made a beautiful village scene where children were playing, ladies were fetching water and sheep were grazing in a beautiful open sky and green field across a stream.

The bell rang and it was time for everyone to stop. All the students were excited about the results except Rohan. But the results surprised everyone. The principal announced that the winner of the competition was Rohan among approx more than 1000 students and awarded a beautiful trophy to him with a gold medal and certificate. He couldn't believe what just happened. All his classmates and schoolmates now regretted what they had thought of him earlier. They came up to him and apologised for their acts. Rohan was very happy and went home very excitedly and showed the award to his parents. His parents just couldn't control themselves and hugged him tightly. Rohan now gained his confidence and excelled in everything he did.
