Hindu culture is one of the ancient and rich cultures on this earth. Hindu Mythology and philosophy are intricately interwoven with Indian life as well as it is finding global attention. The concept of Karma is understood and acknowledged the world over. At the highest level the Vedas, Upanishads, and Puranas are the foundation of the Hindu religion and are studied by some of the most revered and serious minds and philosophers. There are several treatises and interpretations by learned men on these ancient works that form the core of Hinduism.

Manu smriti is the basis for law and has relevance even today.

Then there are the beliefs, practices, and rituals rooted in philosophy and mythology which are practiced in our daily life and temples. These are part of daily life and are accepted without any question, though there is an explanation for everything.

The Indian architecture itself is based on the Vaastu shastra where the buildings are aligned with the position of Vastu Purusha with respect to north and south as he was originally pinned down by the gods and in harmony with all the five elements of nature. Magnificient and exquisite temples, in the realms of mythology.

Another important aspect of our life that has roots in mythology is Indian medicine or Ayurveda based on Charaka Samhita and Sushruta Samhita written more than 3000 years ago. Even today it is practiced and popular.

Mythology is integrated into all aspects of Indian life and forms the foundation of Indian society and culture.

Ramayana, Mahabharata, and Srimadbhagavata were originally written in Sanskrit and several languages, and are a matter of pursuit by the intellectuals, and they are always passed down as bedtime stories narrated by grandparents to the grandchildren. Many of these stories are told to pass the morals to the next generation. Srimad Bhagavadgita is always a reference for the way of leading a righteous life. Indian Mythology is a treasure house and it is embedded in the system of all Indians. We Indians should be very proud to have inherited such a rich culture.
