My 75th Independence Day Celebrations
My 75th Independence Day Celebrations
Independence day is marked by a strong sense of patriotism and nationalism across the country. The day also reflects our pride and solidarity in the country's diversity. India, a land of people of all religions living together in a diversified society with a rich culture and heritage, celebrates this significant occasion with tremendous joy.
On this occasion, various cultural activities are conducted by schools. Plays, drama, dance, essay competitions and quizzes. Students dress up as their freedom fighters as well. The Independence day celebration is done on a wide scale. Every government building is decorated with light, the same colour as our national flag, orange, green and white.
For the 75th independence day, "Har Ghar Tiranga" Movement was launched. Everyone hoisted a Tiranga outside their homes from 13-15 August. This campaign aimed to celebrate 75 glorious years of India’s Independence and showcase patriotism. I too pinned a flag on the harghartiranga.com website. I was happy to receive a certificate for the same. I also took a selfie with the Indian Flag and uploaded it on the website. I ordered Tricolour Indian Sweets to celebrate this glorious occasion. But most importantly, my mother and I participated in the "Run to Feed" Marathon which took place on this day. This Marathon aims to feed the hungry. We tried to run as much as we could so that more people could be fed. It was a lovely day. I felt grateful, satisfied and happy!
