It has to be dark and if it is a new moon night that is also cloudy it is even better, season does not matter. You have to arrive just before the clock strikes twelve which you can easily hear from the church that has been newly built. You can also cary an alarm in your watch but do not carry any bright dials. You cannot have nay light around you , however faint it may be. You need to walk to the end of the village where you will find the banyan tree still standing in a vast stretch of denuded land.No one has dared to chop it down even though all the trees around it have fallen to the axe. There will be no one around you to see or hear what is happening. Just walk along the outer edge of the ridge and look straight at the top of the tree. It is said that at the stroke of midnight a faint glow appears. Keep looking at it and let it just grow into the shape it is taking.

You may feel nervous and may even perspire. Worry not, what you see is not what others see, for the legend goes that you will only see what is destined for you. No one has ever told anything unpleasant about what they had seen. In fact most people begin to keep aloof from public discussions after they have visited the place. It would be dark but do not try to light anything, not even a match. Some people have told that your palpitations may increase. So you should control your heart beats.

You should stand still for as long as you see what you are supposed to see and only leave when you have seen everything. You can of course share what you have seen when you return but remember that people who had ventured out to find the light have never spoken about it till they lived. How long they lived is another question.
