It was twelve noon in Raghavpur  Karunya hospital. Sangeeta, a patient, was worried about the disease 'alopecia' suspected by Dr. Naresh on the symptoms of her excessive hair falling. He advised Sangeeta to consult Dr. Vaibhav Trivedi, who is a dermatologist in Ashwini hospital, Raghavpur.

Sangeeta,  by profession a pharmacist, had gained medical knowledge while managing 'Samarth Medical Store' along with her mother Matangi for three years. She was twenty five years old at that time.  The medical store was located in a busy  market place.

Matangi handed over the entire business to Sangeeta last year.  She was  worried about daughter's disease.  Sangeeta got an appointment with Dr. Vaibhav Trivedi at six p.m. on the same day. She expressed her worry of excessive hair fall. Dr. Vaibhav after thorough check up told her to start treatment immediately.

Before coming to the doctor, she was thinking about healthy hair and remembered events that happened during her college days.  Healthy and black hair is  essential for a girl to keep her beauty. She was praying to God to give her strength to come out free from this test. She was also aware that if the disease is diagnosed at the initial stage, it can be cured completely.

Sangeeta was beautiful and her voluminous hair added to her beauty. She had loved competing in beauty pageants in college. Three years ago, when she was studying in B. Pharma (final year) in Matoshri Bhanumati college of Pharmacy, Raghavpur.  In the same year, she was declared as the winner in the beauty contest and the crown was adorned on her head.

Now if her hair were to start falling out, what would happen?

Her mind was very much disturbed.

She underwent a series of  lab tests. Luckily, the report revealed that there was nothing to worry about.  To cure the small patch over the scalp and give relief from future occurrences, the doctor starts treatment immediately. She was told to meet the doctor every day for one week.

After one week, Sangeeta was most happy that her disease alopecia was totally cured because of proper medication.  Meeting so frequently with the doctor to discuss the disease, both expressed love for each other.

She came to know that Dr. Vaibhav was from Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. Last year only, he had completed his M D in dermatology and joined Ashwini Hospital, Raghavpur. He didn't know Kannada. He was speaking in Hindi  with the public.

Sangeeta helped him to learn the Kannada language within a record period of thirty days.

One day in the evening, he  accidently met  Sangeeta in the Saraswathi park.

"Sangeeta, are you here?

What a nice meeting.

Can you do a favor for me?"

"Yes! Tell me, Doctor, what kind of favor do you need from me?"

"I need a single room house near the hospital."

She was silent for some time.

"Sangeeta,  why are you silent?"

"Doctor, I am thinking about my house. I have a small out house consisting of one room, bath and kitchen. That's vacant now.  We are not using it.  Please come and see it. If you like it, you may stay there."

"Your suggestion really sounds fantastic. Let's go and see right now."

Both went towards the house. After seeing the house,  Dr. Vaibhav said,

"Sangeeta, I like your house.

How much rent are you expecting?

"Doctor, there's no rent; you can stay here as long as you wish."

"I don't want a rent-free house."

"I'm so grateful to you sir for your personal attention to save me from the dreaded disease."

"Please don't link that with the rent. It is my duty to serve my patients."

"Sir, You can pay one thousand rupees as rent  per month all inclusive."

Doctor said he would be coming in two days. Matangi was  patiently listening to their conversation. She was not happy with her daughter because Dr. Vaibhav  being  a bachelor, it was not safe for the daughter, an unmarried young girl to live as neighbors. Mother and daughter had serious arguments about letting out the house to a doctor. Ultimately, it was decided to let out the house to Dr. Vaibhav with some conditions such as strictly maintaining owner-tenant relationship.

Sangeeta, being obedient to her mother, agreed. She was in a dilemma, whether to obey mother or go ahead with her wish to continue love with Vaibhav. He brought luggage after two days and occupied the outhouse.  He, being a busy doctor, rarely gets leisure time.

A mother can read the pulse of her daughter. She knew that Sangeeta was very much eager to meet Vaibhav.

A fortnight passed.

One day, an idea struck the mind of Sangeeta. She revealed her intention to mom Matangi . She praised daughter for taking the right step.

What was her intention?

Sangeeta wants to visit Gorakhpur to gather information about Vaibhav. She planned this trip one week before and left for Gorakhpur along with her mother by flight from the Bengaluru airport. She got the information from the priest of Hanuman temple and  was shocked to know that Vaibhav was already married just one year back and moved court for divorce. In addition to this, he had an extra-marital relationship with another lady.  Matangi and daughter stayed one more day and  visited the famous places in and around Gorakhpur.

On return, the first immediate step taken by Sangeeta was to serve vacation notice to Vaibhav. His repeated attempts to contact Sangeeta failed and ultimately he vacated the house.

Sangeeta proved that love is not blind and love sees what is most true.
