Look Back, Maybe.

"Just hold on", I thought. It would be just a matter of few days or months and he would be out of his bubble.

"Don't let him treat you this way", my friends would tell me. "You don't deserve this."

But i was determined. I knew he would be back one day; the old him would be. He said he loved me and that he is trying to be better. I believed him.

Months passed and nothing changed; only his behaviour worsened. I stuck to him like glue. I was sure he would be back.

But something in me had changed. I was hollow inside. I had so much of love in me and I was incapable of giving him that. It just did not feel right anymore. He did not deserve it.

Nevertheless, I still strived for his return.

We broke up soon after; after six months of waiting and torture. I was broken. He said he was sorry but I knew he wasn't. I still hoped for the day he would be back to his normal self. I wished that he would want me, too.

And he did return. He was back to his senses. He said he loved me and would treat me well. He said he was sorry and this time I knew he meant it. He was everything I ever wanted. But he was late. I was engaged to somebody else.
