She went to answer the door. To be cautious always was something she had built her routine over the years. She peeked to see who it was on the other side of the door. From thehe peek hole of the door it revealed the innocent face of the boy who came to collect her laundry every week. She half opened the door, instructed him to wait and closed it.

She counted the number of clothes she had to give and walked to open the door wide, 'Here 12 clothes, please get them by Fri I won't be there later.'

He nodded, 'ok didi' and left.

Just few seconds after she closed the door, she heard the knock again. One time she wasn't cautious and opened the door without looking, she thought it was the laundry boy. But instead it was one dreadful person she wished she never saw again. He pushed inside and closed the door.

'No, no no... ' she kept repeating scared looking at him.

'Of come on Renu, I am no monster.' Prakash held up his empty hands. 'Why won't you take my calls? It was immensely difficult to find you, you have no idea what I had to do.'

She stammered, 'How did you find me? Prakash please... I beg...'

'ENOUGH' he screamed!

She cowered to a corner, shivered in fear. The animosity in his eyes burnt intensely as he walked threateningly towards her. He laughed loudly like a maniac as he savoured her fear.

'Mother won't be proud of you Renu, treating your own brother like this.' he was close enough that she could not run anywhere. 'Thankfully, they had no evidence of what you said in court BITCH or I had it for life.' he held his fists and boxed it right next to her face, enjoying how scared she looked.

She found her voice, quavering she said, 'Leave me alone, I know what you did to our mother, I wish you were never born.' She spit on his face. He bent closer and held her head with both hands and wiped his face on his shirt sleeve.

'Listen to me my little sister, our mother, she did nothing for us and left us to rot for days on end. Don't you remember?' sniggering he locked her head hard in his hands, ' I had to put an end to it. The only thing I remembered every day and felt good about the sound of her gasping for breath and her eyes popping out of its socket.' He looked into her eyes, her eyes were tormented when with a sudden jerk he bashed her head on the wall. The sound of crack of the skull and violent scream filled the room. He left her ragged lifeless body on the floor, he whistled the tune of the latest bollywood song while he gathered ingredients from the fridge to make an omlette.
