It Wasn't Anyone's Fault.
It Wasn't Anyone's Fault.
I was born in a village a beautiful one that is. People loved me for being the cutest. People's face lit up as soon as they saw me. I was a curious one and I always loved animals of all kind and they without fail adored me don't know why exactly. It was a long evening, I played till the sun set. It was my daily thing to go to the barn(where farm animals are kept)behind my home and feed the cows, calves, lambs and kids(baby goats). They would wait for me and call for me exactly after 6PM daily. They were like family.
Today was special one, there were new arrivals for the family, two new oxen had come. They were milky white, strong as a stallion and were having a heigh stature. They were not meant for working but we're for Ox exhibitions and competition.
It was love at first sight for me, they were like magical creatures.....
Earlier Father had warned me that one of them was a bit cranky, I didn't know which one but this confidence of mine was unlimited (we all do when we were kids) Both the ox were tied up to poles, they were sitting calmly munching on something. I took some long grass which is favorite of many cattle and offered it to the one on the left which was calm. It reached out and took my offer and licked my hand as an gesture of thank you. I petted it for a while, it was a gentle giant.....
I took some more of the grass and moved to the one on right, by this time I was obvious this was the cranky one. It was agitated and hadn't settled to the new place but was a bit calm because of the other one. I hesitantly moved close and offered the grass. To my surprise it took it and started chewing it. I already thought all animals liked me without reason and this ox molded my theory....
I went with more grass and started petting it. It had already calmed down. I rubbed around its neck which is the sweet spot for cows. It was loving the petting. I moved my hands slowly around its neck and towards it's ears, when I reached its ears something was little off. It hated that spot because of the ropes that had made a wound near it's ear.
I got curious, wanted to take a look and started to move the thread slowly but the blood from the wound was sticking to the rope... The movement of the rope had startled the beast. It shook it's head strongly, as it did, my hand which was in the thread was also pulled towards it...
Now I was very close to its face, uncomfortably close, to both of us. Its eyes were wide open...
It got frightened and pulled it's head back and in an upward motion it swung it's head towards me. It's sharp horns struck me on my chest . They pierced through my ribs, I shouted unconsciously, a terrifying voice that had shattered the calmness of that evening. My screams made it toss me 5 feet away. It was a hard fall and a loud thud on my temple(ear region). I couldn't hear anything after that. The pain was there but I couldn't shout no more, my lungs were punctured and one of its horn had pierced a major artery(Blood vessel). The blood flowed like water. I laid face down on the cold floor, which got warm slowly cause of my blood. The ground was flat and I could see some one running towards me, it was my father's legs and followed by my mother's. They turned me around, all I could see was that my father ran towards his bike and lastly I saw my mom whose eyes were full of horror and tear filled. I closed my eyes and the end followed. All I know is, it wasn't it's fault. It was an animal and it reacted like one. I wasn't wise for being a human.
This is a Nightmare that has kept finding me from my young age. Felt good to let it out as a story.
