I Will Never Forgive You

First video call and I fumbled what to say. Her eyes rained to see me.

Voices of ours had met before nine years and now it was the time of our faces to meet.

After twenty years, I witnessed her through the eyes of mobile.

Yes, it was unique and memories took me to the days of past where my engineering madness had met her through the eyes of my uncle's daughter to whom she was the best friend.

I had listened carefully about her from sister. Her simplicity, her goodness had carved a niche in my heart.

Philophobia had won me and I had fallen in love. The madness had made me collect her address of her city.

Writing the billet-doux to her without bothering about the difference of state, caste and echelon, I had conveyed her the feelings of my heart with a view to marrying her.

The letter had come from her side with advice to concentrate on my studies to get a good and handsome job for my family.

My series of letters had touched her heart, and she had written with the blood the magic letters, I love you too.

Time had fleeted and I had passed my engineering and letters from her side had already stopped their movement towards me.

With worries and anguish, I had joined a private plant to earn money for my living.

A year after, I had become eligible to purchase one mobile.

One day a mellifluous voice of a lady had taken sleep from my tired eyes.

Introducing her as Sonam, she had told,' Sushil, do you recognize me?, I am your Sonam.'

She had told all the problems of her life and as the staunchest lover, I had listened to everything and conveyed my feelings.

Every day, we had talked and whenever I had asked her to send her photo, she had never given me. She had told me to come to her state to ask for her hand from her parents.

I had planned so much for our first tryst, but God had different plans. One day, with a low voice, she had told, 'Sushil forgive me, I can't marry you, I can't go against my parents, my parents fear of ostracization because of our relationship and our society will not accept you, I love you, but I adore my parents too.'

Dropping silent tears, I whispered, 'Sonam, best of luck for your future and thank you very much for the love.'

As her marriage day had come, her voice had again hit my mobile to say, 'Sushil, forgive me, before I am going to be someone else's right, touch my contour and soul platonically and give me your feelings through your cozy breath.' Sending her my breath and love over the phone, I had disconnected myself from her life. But our story had never ended, God had different plans.

Time had flown, I had switched over my job, but nothing had happened well with her as her voice had unfolded everything about her licentious husband. Her pity life had troubled me and I had wanted to save her from the oenophile, but she hadn't agreed to come to my life. Umpteen times, I had told to give me a chance to revive her life, but she had refused.

Time had come and my parents made me tie the knot. I started my life with my better half and on the other hand, she distanced herself from her husband to nurture her son. She started her own shop to meet the requirements of life. With a single ambition of giving a good education to her son, she worked hard.

We never united, but our amicable relationship never died, the unique love and bond between us never flinched.

We shared our feelings amicably.

Yes, our love and bonding are unique but O' My God,You have not done poetic justice to our lives, on one hand, You have given me a perfect and hospitable wife and on the contrary, You have given Sonam a non-deserving partner.

I never complain why You have not sanctioned me her nearness and love, but my main grievance is why You have not given her the happiness of life.

Oh! cruel God, 'You have done injustice, I will never forgive you for this, I will never forgive you.'
