My heart was pounding as if someone was hitting a hammer from inside my chest. I could feel the blood flow in my body and sweat drops running down my temple. I could feel his presence. Abruptly, I woke up and I started gasping; sitting on the bed, I looked at my hands in the dim blue light of the night lamp - they were trembling. I sighed, and prayed to the God. Tonight, he spared me.

My body leaned forward and my head almost hit the windshield of the car, as mom suddenly hit the brakes. We had an appointment with doctor.

Doctor put thermometer under my tongue and told me to hold it while he checked my eyes with his torch light. I wondered, did he see 'his' face in my eyes?

I gulped down the medicines prescribed by the doctor. Still fearful, I didn't turn off the lights and tried not to fall asleep whole night. But, my eyes got heavier.

I felt something cold and wet on my right arm; My eyes fell on a ghastly figure standing beside my bed, draped in cloak and hood, caressing my arm with its unusually big hand. Frightened, I tried to leap out from the bed and shout, but my body was numb and I couldn't move even a finger.

In the morning, my mom kissed my forehead to wake me up.

She sat beside me, caressing my hair,

'Did it happen again?' She asked.

I nodded.

'Don't worry sweetie, you'll be fine. It is just sleep paralysis. Now, get ready for the school,' she said and walked out of my room.

I put on my school uniform and was about to leave my room when I heard a sound of breathing, tracing the sound, I looked above me, up at the ceiling. He was still here, crawling on the ceiling.

Sleep Paralysis?

I don't think so.
