Hues Of Friendship
Hues Of Friendship
In the brief life I have had, I was fortunate, or unfortunate, to have witnessed the many hues of friendship.
Friendship is a chameleon. It is bright, vibrant and eye-catching. Like the green chameleon, I spotted basking in the sunny morning on the brown rock. It can't be missed. Just like the person we met on the first day of college and instantly became friends with. Friendship is also like that chameleon that hides in an instant. A moment ago, we would be confident that we have spotted it, but try to look for it again, and it would have camouflaged itself against the leaves. Just like those friends we trust, but who do the disappearing act when we most need them.
Friendship is like a butterfly. Like a butterfly, friends come in all shapes, sizes and colours. The metamorphosis is a miracle of nature culminating in the beautiful butterfly. Some friendships go through the same kind of transformation. From the hesitant, awkward small talk, we graduate to sharing the deepest of our secrets.
Friends are the colour of the calm blue sea. They are also the colour green of envy. The black ones are rare, but even rarer are the purest whites. But most friends come in shades of grey.
What will our life be like without friends? We might have remained like an empty canvas.
