How’s You
How’s You
And I laughed as I sent the message. Maybe he laughed too. Little did I know I’ll still be laughing,
smiling at the thought of it. Little did I know that these small, unknown moments of laughter will turn
into an everlasting love story.
You know, I never wrote so much about him but weaving himinto a story feels like home.
Well, it can already be perceived that the bells of love are ringing, the hearts are singing as they
harmoniously join each other in unison.
It’s obvious these days that so many people are finding a right match for marriage and a perfect partner is
never around the corner as these marriage platforms portray. You’ve to actually dig deeper and keep
digging till you actually find somebody, and perfection….. well, it’s just a myth. The right Jeevansathi
comes when it has to, destiny gifts it to you when it has to.
Well, its been more than over a few months that we met or perhaps that we first talked. First
conversations are always special, especially when things actually take a positive turn. It had been a week
that my father was pestering me into talking to this guy I didn’t even know and didn’t even want to talk
to, but he asked me to save this guy’s number and message him for once. These things actually seem
stupid and what would you talk to a person whom you don’t know or know nothing about? I was not even
expecting a reply, but to my surprise I received an immediate reply. I had sent a “Hi. How are you?” And
to that I received “Hi. I’m good. How’s you?” And before I knew my fingers typed, “It’s not how’s you,
it’s how are you.” And I literally laughed at what I just wrote and being a teacher of English, I thought it
was more of a moral duty to correct this man I didn’t even know because incorrect English pisses us off.
Well, the teacher in me didn’t stop after that and even though he was in his office and I was in my school,
we talked for some more minutes before we got back to our respective works. It continued, I mean the
talks for a few more days before we met each other with our families. Just a typical arrangement of two
people meeting for marriage, if that happens……
And even though, We’ve spent umpteen moments together, from being on random dates to attending
events to attending family functions, it is a whole series that goes on and on. Even today, when I have to
tease him, I just say, “How’s you?” and we both laugh heartily, smiling at each other and reminiscing the
conversation that tied this thread.
